Now that your father's gone, really gone, we can move on... "I'm glad I'm back," Melez pulled him into a passionate but quick kiss. She began to stand, making sure they didn't fall. "I'm glad all of you are safe, I don't know what I would have done if I'd come back and one of you..." She bit her lip not wanting to say it. "Never mind, you're all okay and that's what matters." After she had separated from Azazael for a moment, Eziekiel scooped her up in a hug, her own brilliant white wings with golden tipped feathers contrasted her black dress of mourning. "I'll return later, but I must tell your father that you're alive," A quick kiss on the cheek and Eziekiel dissipated like the shadows of the night as the sun rises.
Nathana copied Khaalida and leaned in to kiss her significant other in celebration.
Azazeal held Melez's hand after her mother released her. He couldn't help but feel clingy and needy. He had lost her...but she was back now. Stella and Zorn came to enfold her in a hug. They were grateful to have the woman back. "You all should get some sleep," Zorn told them. "As long as you are okay with it, Mother and I will stay here to watch over you." Azazeal looked to the others, pretty worn out. "I think sleep is in major order. Melez, we can put that trip on hold for now. I don't want to go out. I am...well, to be honest, shaken and afraid. And just want to hold you."
Hecate giggled before kissing Nat back, her arms firmly encircling the other woman.
Melez tucked herself under his arm so it was around her, her head next to his shoulder looking up into his face with a smile. "I like this plan, I like it a lot." She looked over to Zorn and Stella. "One or both of you could take our room and we could take the couch..." She had no good idea where a goddess would sleep, and was completely forgetting the abilities of Azazael, and hadn't seen the full potential of Zorn, let alone their mother. Is it okay that i offered our room? I figured it'd be okay, but i guess i should've asked you first... She blushed as she got flustered.
Nathana wasn't trying to ignore the conversation going on nearby, but she was terribly distracted, and enjoyed it.
I don't mind in the slightest, Azazeal said, pressing a kiss to her nose. "I'm glad you like this plan." He poured silent strength and support her way to help ease her fears.
Stella shook her head. "After all that has happened? So long as I've got a pillow, I'll be perfectly fine." Zorn shook his head. "I'll get us a bed and take care of it in the morning. We can't possible take the bed from you, Melez. Not only is it your wedding night but everything that went down? No. You should get your bed. Besides, I don't take up much room. And I'll be on alert. I plan to stay up on a guard animal form of some sort."
Hecate was equally distracted and couldn't help herself as she continued to distract her beloved.
Oh good, with just coming back I didn't want to upset you... Melez giggled and nodded as her blush faded. "Could I at least make dinner for us all tomorrow night? In thanks for helping keep us all safe and well, especially in my absence..." She wasn't entirely sure how long she was gone, for all she knew it could have been several days if not longer.
Nathana busied herself by keeping Hecate busy with her soft kisses and gentle hands.
Upset me? I'm not sure if you can, dearest angel. You weren't gone long. A couple hours? It probably felt a whole lot longer...But you're here and that's what matters. I get to keep you in my arms... Azazeal told her, hugging her close.
"Dinner would be lovely. I would be honored to sit down to dinner with you, Melez," Stella said, hugging her and Azazeal briefly. "Thank you...whatever, whoever brought you back to us...thank you..." Releasing them, she smiled and moved back. Zorn smiled at his mother's actions.
"Should we hug them and let them go rest?" Hecate asked softly, kissing Nathana right back.
A couple hours? I thought I'd been gone much longer, it did feel longer... Melez's thoughts sounded like she expected it to have been a great deal longer, but she didn't dwell on it. You're right, I'm here now with you and that's what matters. Melez happily hugged Stella back, and then her smile dropped. "Zach... H-he guided me there and back... I, he..." He was with me when I went and came back, we mentally hugged, but... I wanted to thank him properly... She looked down to the floor, a wish unspoken was shortly about to be granted. "Azazael," A deep but warm voice spoke from the entrance of the cave. "If you wouldn't mind me intruding for a few moments," Zach said with a smile and elegant bow.
Khaalida and Nathana both heard the unfamiliar voice and paused in their ministrations to look at the source.
"Zach!" Melez looked up with a huge smile, her two pairs of wings ruffling slightly with her excitement, all of her feathers remaining in place. "I know our contract is long since fulfilled, but since you've made it clear on a few occasions, consider this part of your wedding present. The last bit will come a bit later I'm afraid," He was waiting for Azazael's okay before he embraced Melez.
Azazeal of course didn't mind. He nodded to Zach, a grin on his face. After the two had hugged, the powerful god tugged Zach into a bear hug. "Thank you...I don't know how I'm ever going to repay you for being with her, for bringing her back to us...gods, Zach...thank you," he said, rather emotionally. "You are not intruding. You're family, as far as I'm concerned. Please come as often as you'd like." Releasing the man, Azazeal smiled, wrapping an arm around Melez's waist.
Hecate studied him a moment, a smile spreading on her lips. "We aren't always what we seem," she murmured softly. He might be a demon but he was unlike a lot of the demons she'd encountered.
As soon as Azazael had nodded, Zach shadowed over to Melez and she hugged him tightly, her wings practically vibrating. He laughed and patted her back, and when Azazael hugged him, momentarily he looked concerned, but as he heard what was said, his worry melted into a smile. "It truly was my pleasure Azazael," He glanced to Melez then back to him. "You really are a lucky man to be wedded to such a, pardon me for speaking frankly, such a wonderful and amazing woman." Melez blushed at the compliment. "I don't have a family of my own, and am privileged to be a member of yours." Melez gasped and reached a hand out to grab Zachs. "Please come to dinner tomorrow night, that way you can try firsthand my curry with onions and the breaded steak and rice." He chuckled and nodded. "How could I refuse such an offer? As long as it's alright with your husband," His chuckling paused as he again waited for the confirmation from Azazael, making sure he showed respect to the man who won Melez's heart and soul.
Nathana 'aww'ed at the hugs shared and stole her own hug and kiss from Hecate. "Not always." She whispered as she resumed her previous endeavors.
"She's as beautiful as she is smart. And this woman is incredibly smart. I would not want to be on her bad side. I was there briefly and I am so very glad I won her over," Azazeal chuckled, gazing at her adoringly. "Of course you're welcome to come for dinner! I just might have had to hunt you down if you refused. Two of our companions are occupied at the moment but I think I can safely say we'd all enjoy you company tomorrow night. Or anytime you want to pop in," Azazeal told him, grinning.
Zorn looked over the new comer, appreciatively. He'd won his brother over pretty completely. And wasn't bad looking either. He made a mental note to make sure he talked to him tomorrow at dinner.
Stella watched her boys, trying to hide a smile but giving up when it broke free anyway.
Hecate happily returned to their activities. Tugging Nat towards their nest, she murmured, "Shall we leave them to it and go see about some sleep slash snuggling?"
Melez's blush deepened and spread until her entire face was a rather bright red. "I did see that bit, and I'd have to agree with you on not being on her bad side." Zach grinned at her. "She's very caring and puts others before herself, both qualities I highly admire in anyone." He turned his gaze and matched grins with Azazael. "Perhaps I could meet the two parents later on, and maybe say hello to the little ones after they hatch. Melez told me about them on the condition that I tell no one about them, a promise that I'll bring to my grave." He chuckled. "I'll see you all tomorrow night, until then," He bowed and vanished. Melez lent her head over onto Azazael's shoulder with a small yawn. "He's been nothing but a blessing," She said with a smile.
Nathana half shifted and scooped Hecate up into her iridescently scaled arms as she silently padded up into the nest and laid on her back, her wings splayed out comfortably, and her tail wrapped loosely around Hecate's ankle. "Yes," She smirked.
Azazeal chuckled, nodding. "Aye. He's something amazing. And I don't think I can ever repay him for what he's done. I don't like being in someone else's debt but for this group? I make an exception. And he is definitely a member. Shall we head to bed, my love?"
Zorn looked at the spot Zach had vanished with a wistful look. Shifting himself into a mastiff, he trotted to the entrance of the cave, pleasantly surprised to find Zach's scent there. Smiling, he made a be appear for his mother in the living room. He put it in a place that was far enough away from Nat and Hecate that they would have privacy. Stella made her way there now, grinning over her sons.
Hecate grinned and kissed her, stroking those beautiful wings. "Lovely woman..." she whispered, pressing herself close.
"Heading to bed sounds like a good plan," Melez spoke quietly as she watched the others disperse. "Good night Zorn, Stella. Thank you both," She made sure they heard her before she slid her arm around Azazael's waist and headed to their room.
Nathana hummed and rumbled as she whispered sweet words to Hecate, her clawed hands running carefully up and down Hecate's back and shoulders.
"Goodnight," Zorn and Stela had both called back. Azazeal smiled, whisking them both away and into their room. He was so overwhelmed with the day. He wanted nothing more then to change into silken pajama's and hold his wife all night long. They'd worry about getting her immortal, if she wanted it, sometime later. The scare had been terrible. But he couldn't get all clingy and overbearing. He couldn't and wouldn't force her into any sort of action against her will. He'd ask her about it later.
Hecate shivered in delight under those deadly claws. She knew she was safe and she feared nothing beside Nat. She whispered her own words into Nathana's ear purring in delight.
Once they reached their room, Melez wrapped her arms and wings around Azazael and hugged him tightly. "I missed you," She whispered. "I don't think I ever want to be apart again," She buried her face into his chest, her breaths slow and deep filling her nose and mind with her husband. She only hoped that he'd be okay with her trying to be so attached.
"How are you Hecate?" Nathana asked after a while. The group had all been through a lot in a very short period of time, and each person would cope with it differently. Seeing her goddess in such a weak and fragile state might have changed something.
"I missed you, too," Azazeal murmured, his arms tightening around her as he held her closer. "I was devastated...you're soul was gone. I didn't know where it was or where to find you...I could have protected and made a body for you, had I had it. I'm so glad Jael didn't get it and that Zach had you. He's something else and I am so thankful to know him."
"I'm okay. I do not like the feeling I get when I can't find a soul...it feels so wrong...But Melez is back and everything is okay now. How are you, my dearest Nathana?" Hecate asked, her green eyes searching the beautiful face before her, memorizing it.
"I went far away, but Zach guided me there and back into your arms," Melez planted feather-light kisses along his jaw. "It felt like I was gone for days..." She whispered, her breathing quickening. "I-I'm just glad to be back," She purposely distracted herself with his neck to slow her rapidly beating heart. To her she had been gone for much longer than what Azazael and the others experienced.
Nathana reverted into her normal form, a few of the iridescent scales lingered along her jawline. "Me? I've regained a member of my family, who I thought would be lost forever, and instead of the day ending in pain, it's ending happily. And to top that, I have you." She smiled. "I'm wonderful."
Azazeal rubbed her back, gentle and strong. "I'm so sorry...I love you and you're here. We're okay. I have your ring," he said, remembering he had it. Pulling the band out of his pocket, he returned it to it's rightful place on her finger. Kissing her temple, he said, "Let's get into some pajama's and then I would like to just hold you and love on you. Kiss every inch of you not covered by fabric."
Hecate smiled. "This is true. We watched two happy couples get married and then have our family member returned to us. We should remember it happily. Thank you, Nat," she said, kissing Nathana's nose. "You beautiful, intelligent woman, you."
Melez held her hand up and smiled at the ring on her finger. "That sounds like a perfect plan to me." She said, swiftly vanishing, only to return clad in the outfit he had made her those few months ago. "Are these okay?" She wanted to see him smile, not to remember the pain tied to the cloth, but the joy felt afterwards. Her red and white wings held out behind her simply completed the image.
Nathana dissolved into whispers of love and kisses, a please grin on her lips, and her lips on Hecate's.
