Melez let out a little shriek as she was lifted off the floor and fell over Jin to be caught. She chuckled as he set her down as though she had simply tripped and began to ask about food. She nodded. "I'll get right on that... Hmm, let's see... Would some burritos be good with some of the leftover curry chicken and onions? Perhaps a little bit of the rice as well?" She asked as the ran through the things she could make out of what they had in the house.

Jin dried the dishes setting them on the table to be used. "Those sound great." He grabbed a couple tortillas setting them in a dish by the fire so they could warm up. After he grabbed the leftovers from the fridge. After setting the food on the table he looked at Melez. "Anything else I can do?"

Melez shook her head. "I don't really think there's much else you can do at the moment... I just need to put them together and then we can eat." She smiles as she goes about putting the rice and chicken into the tortillas setting them by the fire to finish warming up while she got plates set out then set the tortillas on the plates.

Jin smiled watching as he sat on the chair putting his arms behind his head. If nothing else he hadn't eaten so well since, well ever. It was worth helping Melez since he got good food. Though tomorrow was gonna suck. More then likely it was gonna be a small group trying to be diplomatic. Probably won't put up a fight but he was worried more about the next group they would send.
After the first group in the morning failed, then they would bring out the fighters. More then likely Four big brutes and some backup. They would be here by lunch time depending on how long it took to get rid of the first group. He sighed quiet audibly. "Tomorrow isn't going to be easy. Are you up for it?"

Melez glanced over to him as she arranged the food on the plates and divied it up evenly. "I'll be fine. Remember your promise to me..." Her amber eyes hardened and she stared at him, awaiting a response. The way he's treated me so far makes me doubt his honesty with that promise... If it comes down to it, I'll turn on him when he least expects it putting him out of harms way... Even if he does wake up with a lump or two...

Jin closed his eyes for a moment, looking pained. "Yes I know I promised." He looked up at her his eyes showing sincerity. "I'll keep to my promise." He looked at his food suddenly not hungry but forcing himself to eat anyway. She doesn't believe me. I'll have to figure something out. Hmm maybe if. ... He pulled off one of two rings and pushed it across the table. "If you wear that, it's spelled. It can't be taken off unless the person who puts it on does. Umm.... and if we fail I'll be able to find you." The ring was similar to a male class ring. With a emerald in the middle. Gleaming in the light. He laughed trying to lighten the mood. "Bet you can't guess my favorite color."

Melez nodded once he said he would keep his promise and looked down to eat her food but her eyes shot up to the ring as he added a part to the promise. If I wear this? So if I put it on no one can take it off except me... And it's a tracker... I guess it'd work... I could always just take it off so he can't follow me and get hurt or killed... She sighed. "I'll put it on." She reached over and put it on her middle finger of her left hand and smiled slightly at it. "It's very pretty..." She looked over to Jin before tilting her head slightly. "Favorite color? Green?"

Jin laughed and nodded a couple times. "Yes just like my eyes. My mom always said that because my eyes were green it meant I would be a lucky man when I grew up. I guess she was somewhat right." He smiled leaning back in his seat as he stretched. "I guess we should get to sleep." He closed his eyes. "We had a busy day and it's going to be busy tomorrow." He got up and started to put the dishes in the sink.

Melez chuckled as she got it right the first time. She stood up and grabbed her own plate and the dish she used to serve putting them in the sink and starting to wash it all. "We probably should. I'll finish these dishes then I'll get to bed..." She said almost absent mindedly as she washed the plates. "What do you mean somewhat right? You're alive are you not? You're mostly if not completely healthy are you not?"

He shook his head. "I have my reasons why I said it." He began to dry the dishes and put them away. His face showing nothing. He schooled his expression as he began to think of all the things he was unlucky for.
His family's deaths, his near death experiences, the fact his life was tied to- he snapped out of it and put the last dish away before patting Melez on the head. "Just don't do anything silly tomorrow ok?"

Melez sighed and shook her head with a smile. "Alright, I won't do anything silly. As long as you don't either." I won't do anything silly, I'll do something stupid. Stupid is often better than silly if you're trying to make plans... She started to head for her room as she ran over the things she was lucky for and unlucky just for balance. Her father having so many enemies that would like to either kill her or use her to get to her father, her very unfortunate combination of horns and wings and various other things.

Jin followed her for a bit before slipping into his room and sitting on his bed. He was not tired at all though he knew he should sleep. "I'll stay up just a little longer." He grabbed his sword from the bedside table where it had rested all day. Taking it out and taking his cleaning kit. He set the kit open beside him as he began the process of cleaning the blade.
Instead of sitting on his bed he was on the ground. The grass tickling his legs as he watched his father cleaning the blade. It was the first time he had been allowed to see the red sword that his father kept at all times. He had heard the village kids talking about the rumors. Trying to see if any were true. He had no idea.
As his father took care of the blade he made no noise focusing his attention. Even Jin felt compelled not to say anything. Mesmerized by the red light thrown off.
He was finished. He shook his head putting the blade away and the kit. Then he laid down, passing out quickly.

Melez entered the room and laid down on the bed staring at the ceiling feeling very alone and somewhat uncomfortable. How long had it been since she had hugged her parents? How long had it been since she hugged anyone? Far too long... She sat up and let her dark red wings out and laid back down wrapping herself in the warm feathery embrace falling quickly into sleep. As she usually does, she dreams of her mother's death and quietly whimpers and moans during the nightmare plagued sleep.

Jin woke up early as he usually does. Brushes his hair out before tying it up with his leather cord. He quickly changes into a new set of clothes realizing he had been shirtless most of yesterday. He puts on a tight black shirt and a pair of denim jeans then he ties a pair of black shoes on. After strapping his holster on he puts on his sword and the four daggers. Putting on his silver jacket the only weapon you could see is the sword strapped to his back.
Leaving his bedroom he walks into this kitchen deciding to make breakfast for them today. Frying a couple of eggs and toast. Setting the food on the table he sat and began to eat. Savoring the taste.

Melez woke with a start as she usually does and pushes herself up out of bed to her feet. She stretches out her shoulder and chuckles quietly. "Thanks dad for that spell of quicker healing..." She grinned as she let her wings fold back in and slid her trenchcoat over her back. She slipped on her shoes and used the shoelaces to tie them tightly so they couldn't fall and she tucked them inside so they wouldn't come undone. When she was ready she walked out into the kitchen to the smell of eggs and toast. "Morning." She said with a slight smile as she realized he had made some for her as well. She walked over to the sink to wash her hands as she waited for a reply and an invitation to sit and eat, if she was mistaken and that was only more food for him she'd feel awful and embarrassed.

Jin smiled and pointed to the food on the table near the other chair. "Yeah good morning. I made you some food this morning. Its kinda simple but it's good." He finished his food in the next bite, then he brushes the crumbs off. He was proud of himself for having made breakfast. "Oh and I see you didn't get startled today seeing me sitting here. That's good." He grinned playfully before he took his plate to the sink. The little talismans he had made yesterday now tucked away in spots all over the house. Most hard to see some were not like the one sitting beside the potted plant beside the sink.

Melez walked over to the chair and sat and took one bite before grinning. "It's good. My mother couldn't have done it better." She chuckled before finishing her plate and setting it in the sink and starting to wash it all. "If we both end up surviving all of what's likely to happen, how can I repay you for all of the kindnesses you've shown me?"

Jin shook his head and moved around her to dry the now clean dishes before putting them away. "We will survive. I'm just not sure if we will be in the same shape. Though they might just want to put you in like protective custody? I mean they are a group of angels and demons. Maybe they just want to keep you safe. Best case scenario, worst case? They want to lure out your dad but either way they probably won't kill you."

Melez raises an eyebrow. "Protective custody?" She scoffs. "Protective custody that'd be the day... But luring out my dad is likely it... Though many have tried, some even doubt that he's still alive because it takes a lot to get him to even leave a sign that he hasn't left this plane of existence." She sighed as she leant against the sink staring at the drain.

"Except with you." Jin hated to admit it well more like was a mix of happy and sad. Her father loved her and would either do anything for her or leave her to her own devices. Not that he knew her father at all but at the least he knew that the Nan cared. Even a little bit. "If we fail... do you want me to do anything? Like try and get a message to him?"
