Narrator: the Pokemon resting beside the berry tree snagged a berry
from the leaves, munching onto it slowly, rather casually despite
the state of affairs. "It's so terribly lonely..." A feminine voice
sighed, nibbling in the berry, leaving only four to remain. "But
mother said to wait for her here..."
Lief heard the voice with pin point accuracy. "So it is a child.
But what pokemon is it. I can't lose the berries or I will starve.
Maybe I need to get closer." Lief said, slowly coming down to a
lower branch.

Narrator: coming closer to the frightened child Pokemon may have
been the better choice. Staying alone in the darkness is one thing,
being young and alone is burley torture. And with companions needed
in order to not go insane, it might be wise to befriend those,
especially those in need...
Mystery Pokemon: "Who's there?" The child Pokemon quivered, holding
the berry close to her chest, hearing the creaking if a branch in
the distance, "You-You better stay back!" She tossed her berry in
the distance with a squeal, quickly diving into the berry busy,
"Stay back! I am warning you infected!" She cried, trembling in the
leaves.
"I am not infected. I am pure. An infected would have tried to kill
you." Lief said, exposing his cover to the child. "However, I
wonder how long it will be before infected find us. You should get
up in the tree here so they can't see you." Lief made a gesture
implying for the child to follow him.

"Oh...yes, I suppose that's true." Shuffling out of the berry,
revealed a Pokemon commonly known as Ralts, keeping a berry close
in her grasp. She looked up to the tree, holding out the berry for
the non infected, "I can't travel holding up holding the food.
H-Here, for you... I have to wait for mother but it is safer in
numbers right?"
"There." He said, taking to berry up the tree. "You can come up
now. I am a bit surprised that your mother would leave you in the
open like that though. Did she say where she was going?" Lief
asked, a concerned look on his face.

With a soft sigh, Ralt hung her head and sniffled at words of her
mother, "She... she left to find fresh water. Told me to wait by
the berry tree that father cut down for me. He left some time ago
and she went to find him, but she was so sad, and had a horrible
scar on her arm. Said that father was really sick." Ralts looked up
to the sky, covered by the twisted branches and thick leaves, "I
hope she's okay, I hope she comes back... I don't know what I'll do
if she doesn't... I'll be alone."
"No you won't, you will not be alone. If she doesn't come back or
has been infected. I will take care of you. Right now, I am sure
your mom is alright. Patience is a key element in this world." Lief
said, smiling in a nice way to make the ralts happy. He got up in
the top of the tree, looking to see if any non-infected were
nearby.

With a slight smile, Ralts crawled her way up the tree, resting in
a low branch, arms folded over her stomach. "Well, that sounds very
nice, thank you."
Narrator: with Lief having a new companion, he will no longer be
driven to insanity due to being alone. But having another mouth to
feed means finding more food and drinking water. With a younger
companion, who's first instinct when thinking she sees an infected
is to scream at it to go away, this could result in risky stealth
missions. But with a another set of eyes to help watch out for
dangers, safety has increased.
"Alright then, nothing looks immediately dangerous for now. Hey, is
that a..." Lief stood silent, a figure was on the edge of the fog,
unidentifiable. Lief jumped down and whispered to the ralts, "Stay
perfectly quiet and do not move a muscle. I see something that
could be a threat."

"Wha?! O-Okay!" Ralts hid against the trunk of the tree, trembling
and watching Leif's movements. "Be careful please." She pleaded,
hiding her eyes from the scene. "Just... just make it go away."
Ralts began crying, a young life born into a world of infected and
devastation, she handled the situation how many children would when
near their parents.
"Uh... You might want to quiet down. I don't mean to offend but it
is coming this way FAST." Lief said, preparing to charge with a
swift attack. "It looks awfully humanoid though." He added, backing
into a position where he and the ralts were both hidden.

Narrator: the humanoid Pokemon approached rather quickly, pausing
only to rummage through the berry tree. A bright spark of lightning
illuminated the forest. Blank eyes and drooling mouth came from a
Pokmon appearing like Gardevoir. A crash of thunder could be heard
in the distance shortly after. A hard patter of rain began to fall
in the forest, unable to reach the forest floor right away due to
the thick over growth above. The change was obvious, this Gardevoir
was indeed infected, a large bite wound on her arm. The infected
Pokemon tripped to the forest floor, clawing its way forward,
following a strong scent of non infected.
A decision needed to be made. Either stay and fight the infected,
run from the being, or accept the fate to turn infected. No
decision is without risk.
Ralts: "Is it gone?" Ralts asked, arm over her eyes, "I'm really
scared.... Please, make it go away." She trembled, staying in the
darkness, hoping that if she couldn't see the creature that it
would disappear.
"We have to run! Now!" Lief said, grabbing the ralts and jumping
out of the tree and running. "Just don't open your eyes!" He said,
preparing to come across more who had met the same fate.

Ralts: "Oh! O-Okay!" Ralts road on Leif's back, eyes shut, holding
his fur tightly. Her eyes cried at the unknown dangers behind her.
She attempted to do as told, keeping her mouth shut and trusting
her new companion.
Narrator: the infected Gardevoir crawled along the forest floor
rather slowly, the trip bruising her legs. She focused more on the
tree, sniffing it for familiar scents. Sadly the berry bush is left
along with the food Ralts brought, but her stomach full. The
infected Pokemon too slow to keep up is left in the dust, a fallen
mother who, even without her mental state, combed the ground for
her lost child.
Lief saw his opportunity to get a better hideout. A small cave,
bushes with berries just inside. And an easy way to block the
entrance while still letting air in. He dove in and blocked the
entrance. "Okay, you can open your eyes now. We are safe in this
cave." He said, putting the little ralts on its feet.

Ralts sighed in some relief, seeing her new surroundings in a small
cave, rather dark and creepy but safe nonetheless. "What a
relief... But, what if my mother comes back?" Ralts asked concern,
"Maybe... Maybe tomorrow, when the sun is out, we can see if we see
her?" The pitter-patter of rain reaching the floor could be heard
outside, followed by thunder roaring pridefully.
Narrator: with the heavy rain pouring down this can cause the
infected to shy away from the non infected, fearful of drowning.
But this can cause flash floods in the lower lands of the forest,
being inside of a sturdy home is good thinking, but could result in
being surrounded by water which may be infected. With the night
coming soon it is best to get shelter, warmth, and bedding. The
cave is somewhat deep, the pair may not be alone, it is wise to be
cautious.
Lief hesitated after what the ralts said. "Maybe, but I doubt it.
Someone going outside, alone, in a storm, isn't exactly going to
have the odds in your favor." Lief looked back in his memory,
remembering the pokerus'd gardevoir. "Hmm... Maybe we might find a
survivor. We should sleep on a higher rock so if too much water
comes in we won't drown." Lief said, putting the ralts on top of a
rock.

((Accepted! Just so you know currently it is Day 1, late afternoon,
raining heavily in the forest, snowing hard in the mountains, and
beginning to rain in the city.))
