Hi, I'm sorry if this isn't clear or if it has been suggested before, but I wasn't sure how to word it.

My idea is to show on a pokemon's profile something like this (let's say we have a shiny mega-able bulbasaur):

5685th Bulbasaur
122th Shiny Bulbasaur/Ivysaur/Venusaur
11th Mega-Able Bulbasaur/Ivysaur/Venusaur

This would make it a lot easier to tell whether or not you had the first kind of a species, and it can be interesting to know what number your pokemon is. If two (or more) users hatched a special type of pokemon within a short period of time of each other, it could be confusing as to which one got the first/second/third/etc. A pokemon that doesnt have shininess or mega-able ability wont say the place for shiny and mega-able, and just list the number for species.

Edit: If the Pokemon hatched is, say, a shiny male snorunt, then any shiny froslass will not count for the amount of shinnies in its evo line.

Not really important, but would be a cool feature in my opinion.

SUPPORT! I love this idea so much! It can tell you who REALLY has the first on site if you think you have the first OS. Then it'll have true info!

I have a question before I make a decision - where on the profile would this be located? At the bottom under the interactions made? In the sidebar? Where in the sidebar/at the bottom? How would it look?

If you can read this, you know how to read.

I'd say perhaps at the bottom of the sidebar (as in being one of the bubbles that say when it was hatched, its stats, etc), a bit like the bubble that says when and where it was hatched, but with 1-3 of the blueish-green bubbles (number depends on whether or not the pokemon is shiny, mega-able, both or neither).
There could be a better spot, but I think this would be a good place for it to go.

You can always check what frequency your Pokemon is in the Pokedex. :) Though, yes, this would be much more convenient.

When u mega evolve a pokemon it gains its own pokedex spot. By clicking on that you can see how many are shiny. But are you suggesting that so that you may start a shiny mega hunt before and try to get a site first?

No, I'm suggesting a spot on a pokemons page that tells what place it has. You can find out how many of a type there are, but the problem with this is that you wouldn't know exactly what place it is, just how many there are. This makes it easier to find out what place it has, especially in the situation where a shiny or mega-able hatches when you are offline and can't rush to the pokedex to check.

(Also, just wanted to say thanks to supporters : D)

Awe yeah, I'll support this. It'll encourage people to give things actual names instead of naming half a dozen pokemon "FIRST OS" or something ridiculous until someone else comes by and yells at them.
It'll help the PH Records project as well.

Another question: when calculating (2423th on site or whatevs), does it count released pokemon?

If you can read this, you know how to read.

I'd say if the pokedex right now does it that way, it should do it this way too. I don't know whether or not the pokedex counts released pokemon or pokemon of a higher evolution line, but in my opinion it should count the same for the evolution line that the pokemon can evolve into (ex. say we have a shiny male snorunt, shiny froslasses will not count).
Again, these are just ideas so something else could work too.

Well that would only partly work. Stuff like "10th shiny Taillow" would work, but "3rd shiny Swellow" wouldn't work. Because when User A hatches Shiny Taillow before User B, but User B evolves it before User A, then there is no way to find out who evolved it earlier. Only who hatched it earlier.

Secondly, as already mentioned, this would not count released Pokémon. So when you have "10th shiny Taillow", but someone releases a shiny Taillow, you suddenly have "9th shiny Taillow".

Thirdly, this would cost much more disk space and computation time. For example the reason why the ranklists are only updated every few minutes is that it takes many seconds to order all users into the proper lists. The results are then saved ("cached") until the next ranklist update in the database.
Obviously you could argue that also these Pokemon statistics could only be updated every few hours; but then there's the problem of disk space. The ranklist only saves the Top 10, while your idea requires multiple stat records for EVERY Pokémon.
With 10 Million Pokémon (which we will definitely reach next year) and the three categories ("X'th Hatch", "X'th Shiny Hatch", "X'th Mega-Able hatch"), this would be AT LEAST 600MB. And that is a lot for such a small addition.

I'm not saying that it's completely impossible; but I'm saying that it should really be evaluated whether it's worth it or now.

Oh, alright. I dont know how making new features would work, but this sounds like it'll be more worth it to add other features instead. Thanks for answering

I support this but not.
You could just use the pokedex, but this way is much easier.
