Alright, so since we've gotten our new minigame, I've been thinking of all sorts of different ways it could be used.

One such way is opening a temporary contest during certain holidays as an event. The only way I can currently think to add something like this is around Thanksgiving or Halloween having a Pumpkaboo-Hatching contest, since the sizes of them haven't been really addressed yet. Since in the real games, Size was related to stats, I don't think it should be that much different from the current system.

Maybe also a Christmas-Tree contest, with Snover and Phantump being the stars.

I was also thinking since in all fairness this would be an event, maybe there would be a random chance to hatch a specially-colored event Pumpkaboo.These could be based off of other things you see around that time of year; the decorative gourds, jack-o-lanterns, candy bowls, and pumpkin pies, and maybe even "zombie" Pumpkaboo that are worth less points because they look rotten. I'm currently working on images to give a little more feel behind the words, but since the idea is simple to explain, I thought I'd post it now.
Edit: As I say in a post bellow, I'm not exactly sure what timeline this type of event would have. I don't want to necessarily replace regular events, because no matter how you slice it hatching a hoard of floating pumpkins is a million times easier than grabbing event points, and by the end of it there'll probably be tons of the different Pumpkaboo (or however our Duck Overlord chooses to use this).

To clarify, would this happen, for example, on the week of Halloween/Thanksgiving (25th-31st), or would this be replacing the Hatching Contest (1st-7th) for that month? If on the week of Halloween/Thanksgiving, would there still be a regular Hatching contest on the 1st-7th?
I think the white Pumpkaboo is really cute. .u.
Edit: Also, normally during Halloween there are candies and stuff. What would happen to the normal planned events for Halloween?

Thanks ^_^ I don't want to replace the event pokemon that would normally come through, since that wouldn't be entirely fair. I was thinking if not the week of Halloween/Thanksgiving, than a week in the middle of the month, and if not then something that would only happen as a one-time event or as an every now and again.
To be honest, I've only been here a couple months, so I'm not 100% sure on all of the event schedules or what the pokemon look like. I think I've seen one of the Munchlax floating around, so I felt that it'd be something to try while the site and the feature are still fairly young.

I added the Gourgiest to each of the Pumpkaboo ideas, and since I got a lot of gripping on another site for it I'd like to remind people that these are just ideas. If it gets implemented, I'm not saying they have to be like this, the artists in charge have a final say on it I'm sure, and much better ideas than me. I'm not trying to be an end all authority on the event or anything if this was made; I just did a few examples so it was better explained.
