Nanaki entered and closed the door behind him and sat down on the couch as well, unzipping his hoodie jacket before slipping it off, revealing scarred nubs on his back that poked through holes in the tank top he was wearing where he originally had wings at one point.
it was one of the things he kept hidden along with his past from Castiel and Trauma unlike his ears and tail.

she sighed and finally seemed to relax, deciding to rest her head against Withers shoulder and close her eyes.
''could.... you stay with me for a little bit.....? just until i'm a bit better...'' Magnolia muttered, a little hopeful.

Dark grinned and snapped his fingers, the runes one his arms seeming to peel off his skin like stickers and float around in the air on either side of him.
''it'll also give me a chance to test some new tricks out'' he said.

"Oh, Cas, he has back secrets too!" Trauma blurt out excitedly, perking his head up. "Be nice," Castiel scolded softly, turning back to Nanaki. "What... happened?" He managed to ask, stumbling a bit on how to phrase it. He thought about Amaryllis, wondering if she had been there.

"I'll stay for as long as you want," she promised, sustaining eye contact with an angel in her pathway. The angel apologized and moved out of the way, Wither walking at Magnolia's pace so that she was safe.

Nanaki pinned his ears back as he looked at Trauma with a somewhat grim expression before looking up at Castiel, giving him a bit of a weak smile to try and reassure him a bit.
''a very sadistic and horrible angel had plucked me off the streets one morning a couple years back in the angel city...... they kept me hidden, locked up, hardly gave me any food or water....'' he muttered, looking down at the floor as he trailed off.
he trembled slightly and hugged his legs up to his chest, taking a deep breathe to calm himself before he continued.
''the angel, they..... tortured me... they took my beautiful wings, as some sort of sick hunting trophy....... they branded an 04 on me, which meant i wasn't the only victim that b--ch had... Amaryllis searched for me for weeks, she never stopped looking.... she finally found me when the angel tried to finish me off in the forest... that angel's gone now though, so no one else will suffer the same fate as i did'' Nanaki said a bit shakily.

Magnolia blushed faintly and smiled a little, nodding a bit before she rummaged through her pocket and handed Wither the key to her cabin.

Castiel covered his mouth with his hand while Nanaki talked, his eyebrows furrowed in concern for his friend. His face was a war between sympathy and moroseness--Trauma had pointed it out before, but the more Nanaki spoke, the more he realized how similar their situations had been. "I'm... so sorry," he mumbled, not quite sure how else to reassure him. His stress levels were slowly rising and he could feel his heart rate increase. Trauma's ear twitched, sensing his companion's discomfort, and he jumped on the couch next to him, laying his head softly on Cas's lap. Castiel stroked his ear, calming down. "How... long ago was this?" He asked.

Wither unlocked the door and put the key on the nearest counter, making sure Magnolia was safely on the bed before sitting down herself. "You figure Dark and Kali are hitting it off?" She queried with a teasing grin. Void sat by her feet, curiously looking around the room.

''i was.. eleven or twelve when it happened, so two or three years ago'' he said, but shook his head and rubbed his arm, soon calming back down as he looked up at Castiel and smiled weakly to try and push the dreariness away for a moment.
Nanaki reached over and lightly scratched him between the shoulder blades, knowing it was a sweet spot since Amaryllis liked being scratched there in her animal form, most companions did.
''a-anyway, onto a somewhat less depressing and horrible thing.... before all that had happened and i still had my wings and before i met Amaryllis, i was an orphan living on the streets, i think i was... six or seven around that time..... the only thing i knew was that my parents were either both a winged lion or they were an angel and a winged lion companion.... i survived for the most part by pickpocketing people's wallets so i could buy food rather than steal it, i didn't have a very good life honestly until i was eight, which was when Amaryllis took me in..... she has really been the only person who's made my life better... we both finally came here and have been here for two years now, the rest you already know when we first became friends'' he said.

Magnolia laughed a little and smiled, shrugging a bit as she laid on her side.
''truthfully i hope they do get together, they'd make a really cute couple...'' she mumbled.
she sat up and flinched slightly, but fought through the pain as she took her hoodie off and tossed it onto the sofa at the end of her bed.
''Void, could you get me a bottle of water out of the fridge, as well as an ice pack from the freezer? the kitchen is just around the fireplace'' she said, lifting the front of her navy blue tank top up a bit to see if she was starting to bruise, but had her back to Wither and Void.

Cas nodded and cast his gaze to the floor, rubbing the back of his neck and thinking. He began to wonder how he had never noticed the signs of a bad past in his closest friend. That doesn't change who he is as a person, he scolded himself, looking back at Nanaki with an exasperated attempt at a smile. "I guess neither of us has the best past," he said a bit jokingly, Trauma happily accepting the scratches. "You're safe now, though~" the companion reminded them (mostly to reassure Castiel).

"I think Kali notices--after all, how couldn't she with all this teasing--but doesn't know what to make of it. I'm sure they'll figure it out though, Dark really likes her. It's adorable," Wither remarked, laying on her back and facing the ceiling. She flicked her gaze at Magnolia worriedly when she flinched but said nothing, knowing that she'd be fine. Void chirped in compliance (a noise Wither didn't know he could make) and hopped off the bed, padding off to the kitchen. She sighed and rested her hand behind her head. "It's been quite the day, huh?"

Nanaki rubbed his arm a second after crossing them and gave a weak laugh that was still genuine, even if it didn't seem like it, before looking up at Castiel.
''none of us refugee's ever do.... some way worse than other's, but we still live on trying to forget the terrible events in life'' he said, almost philosophically in a way.

Magnolia sighed as she put her tank top back down and laid back over as she looked at Wither.
''it has been a long day for everyone.... and yeah i'm sure Kali notices his crush as well, he's sorta more obvious about it now since he's able to become a human'' she chuckled, running a hand through her hair.
she thought for a moment while looking away and soon a faint blush took over her face as she looked back at her.
''h-hey, um..... why.... why do you keep...... brushing up against me? i can't really tell if your doing it intentionally or accidentally...'' she mumbled, obviously confused on the subject she brought up.

Castiel nodded, his gaze driven into the ground with more weight than he could handle. He tried to take a deep breath but it ended up as a pathetic huff that sent a sharp pain to his back.
"I, uh... I was born the youngest of the angelic royal family. Everyone was a lot more focused on my brother, so I was allowed to kinda do my own thing in the shadows. T-to be honest, I never really saw Tony all that much and I hardly remember what he looks like. I... don't know if you heard, but a corrupt angel was sent to attack the palace. It was burned down and I was locked in the library."
His mouth turned down and he could feel his eyes growing warm, but he kept speaking, stroking his fingers through Trauma's matted fur.
"They took me in and tortured me for a long time. Some... alchemist or something set a curse that made sure I wouldn't die on them, and then they sliced open my back and did some twisted stuff to my spine so that it would be a weapon. It's why I'm always in pain. There were... more like me, that had been tested on. We were meant to fight each other, but somehow Trauma and I found each other instead and managed to escape. Wither found us somehow and now we're here."

Wither coughed and sat up, still facing away from Magnolia, her cheeks flushing into a beet red. "O-oh, um... sorry about that. I haven't noticed. I'll be more mindful of your space," she lied, internalizing her panic. "Sorry."

Nanaki listened to Castiel speak and by the time he finished Nanaki was staring at him with wide eyes and his fluffy round ears perked up, soon getting up off the couch as he walked over and gently hugged him.
''n-never thought i'd be best friends with a prince..... heh, i'll keep your secret safe Castiel, i promise'' he said, pulling away a little to smile brightly at him.

Magnolia watched Wither's reaction, not even noticing the blush, and looked away as she looked away and covered her face with her hair seeming a little disappointed that it was accidental that she brushed up against her.

Castiel smiled back at him, "T-thanks... I, uh... still need to tell Tony I'm his brother, though. For the most part, I've been ignoring him, but he wouldn't recognize me in a crowd anyways. Wither's been trying to help, but I want to wait until we switch bases and he's feeling better." Trauma nosed him lightly on the elbow, a small gesture of support.

Sensing the tension in her voice, Wither glanced behind her shoulder briefly before turning around completely. "Are you okay?" She asked, but her concern dropped it to an innocent whisper.

''i'm sure he'll remember you Cas, how could he forget his little brother....? and i'll support you no matter what, that's what best friends are there for!'' he said cheerily, lightly patting his shoulder.
his ear's twitched and he looked over at the door as his smile vanished, becoming more alert as he heard a knock at the door.
soon enough he smiled again and ran over to the door, opening it as he flung his arms around a tall and slender blue haired angel.
''Amary~!'' he sang happily, purring rather loudly now.
Amaryllis looked down at Nanaki with mild surprise but smiled as well, giving the young boy a tight squeeze of a hug as she laughed.
''hey Nana, i figured you'd be here, hey Castiel, Trauma'' she said, looking at Castiel and Trauma when she greeted them.

Magnolia simply remained quiet and moved around a bit to where she could lay her head on her pillows and kept her face hidden, back to Wither as she tried to fight off her tears that threatened to fall.

Dark went tumbling after trying to block an attack Kali threw at him and soon skidded on his hands and knee's, breathing heavily as he tried to catch his breathe that was knocked outta him.
''t-t-time... out a moment... K-Kali..!'' he managed to spit out, coughing a bit.

Castiel waved and smiled, his heart picking up speed. "It's been a while since I've had the pleasure of seeing you~" Trauma purred in greeting, raising his head off of Castiel's lap and swishing his tail in greeting. His tongues flicked as he spoke and Cas patted his bone forehead, still shaking off memories of his past. His spine was beginning to grow sore again and he knew standing up would be an effort for him, but he said nothing.

Her eyebrows furrowed in worry. "Hey, hey," Wither cooed softly, "are you hurting still? Do you need a paramedic?" Void padded in from the kitchen, managing to hold both an ice pack and a water bottle in his mouth, and put his paws up on the edge of the bed in front of Magnolia. His ear twitched and he glanced at Wither in confusion, but he set the items by her stomach and instead leaped on the edge of the bed to curl up.

Kaleidoscope froze mid-gesture, her hands still raised in the air to control the massive spike of light that she had created hovering over Dark. She closed her fists and it disapparated into clouds of luminescent dust, to which she quickly fell to her knees by his side. "Oh, God, I'm so sorry... I get caught up in it sometimes, it's been ages since I was actually on the field," she said. She blinked sharply when she realized what she had said, not actually recalling a moment when she had ever been on field--her memories were as limited as Spectrum's, sadly--or fighting outside of the Rebel Camp. Any hazy memory disappeared the more she thought about it.
She sighed gruffly and turned her attention back to Dark. "Are you injured?"

Nanaki perked up as he looked over at Castiel, as if sensing he was in pain and broke away from the hug to run over to offer him an arm to help him balance.
she didn't question Nanaki breaking away from the hug and simply walked in, closing the door behind her.

''i... don't need one...... you can still go get one if you want, Void can keep me company....'' she muttered, simply just giving up for the day out of both physical and emotional exhaustion as well as pain.
she reached over and very lightly scratched the top of Void's head before grabbing the ice pack and put it over where Wither had accidentally jabbed her in the ribs.

Dark slowly managed to catch his breathe and sighed, sitting up a bit as he looked at her and smiled reassuringly so she knew he was alright while simply assuming what she said before her question was something else.
''i'm fine Kali, my body is littered with old scars anyway, and besides my body is stronger than it looks'' he laughed, rubbing the back of his neck.

"N-no, it's okay," Castiel said, shaking his head but feeling warmed by the offer. He was constantly grateful for having Nanaki as a friend. Trauma almost moved to pull out a chair for Amaryllis but figured that the bed was good enough, especially since he didn't want to leave Castiel's side when he was feeling shaky.

"I'll stay with you," Wither said firmly, patting Void's shoulder. He looked back at her with scintillating orange eyes and cocked his head. "You go." His whiskers twitched and he spoke for the first time in quite a while. "I would, but I don't know where the hell anything is around this place. Haven't been here even a day."
Wither briefly explained the directions and, upon seeing Void's lack of confidence, mumbled, "You'll be fine, just figure it out. Ask around if you need to, they're all friendly here." He huffed and leaped off of the bedside into an orange-rimmed portal.
Wither sighed softly and rubbed her temples, her gaze casting over to Magnolia with pain. "It's kinda funny, isn't it? We manage to infiltrate the demon base and steal a goddamn military airship without a scar and end up finally getting hurt over a dumb incident. By me, nonetheless... God, I don't know how to make it up to you, Mag... I hope you're not taking it personally, I really like you," she rambled, flinching when she realized what she said.

Her eyebrows furrowed, "Well, having a crap ton of scars doesn't mean it's alright to get more... especially not from a measly practice session. You're sure you're really alright? It'd be a bit idiotic to try and play down pain just to seem strong, y'know." Her face softened and bit and she stuck out a hand to help him, the last bit of her sentence a bit more lighthearted.

Nanaki pouted slightly but nodded and went to sit back down on the sofa, leaning back as he hugged himself lightly.
Amaryllis shifted forms and trotted over, hopping up onto the sofa between Nanaki and Trauma and plopped down right where she stood after turning around a bit and closed her eyes.
''if your spine is starting to hurt then i have some painkillers that a nurse sent with me, saying you forgot them from your last visit'' she said, opening one eye to look at him a bit concerned.

Magnolia simply listened to they're chatting before hearing him leave through one of his portals, remaining silent as she trembled slightly from fighting back from breaking down.
she then listened to her next words and seems to chuckle mentally at the irony of it all, but tensed up when she caught her last sentence, hope seeming to replace her negative thoughts.
''w-what... what do you mean by ''like'' exactly.....?'' she asked in a soft voice that was still audible, the hope she felt slightly hinted in her voice.

Dark huffed and blushed faintly as he listened to her and grabbed her hand as he got up, brushing himself off before crossing his arms and looking down at her.
''yes Kali i promise i'm alright...... and i've taken worse hits than that, but i'll admit your attacks sure do pack quite a punch'' he laughed.
ever since they both stopped battling and Dark stopped using his magic the runes that were missing had returned to they're original places.

"I've already taken them today... b-but I'm running low, yeah," he mumbled, blushing a bit in embarrassment. His chronic pain wasn't something he liked to force into a conversation and he surely didn't want to mention that it still hurt with the painkillers--they were merely there to keep him functioning, as opposed to immobile from pain.

Wither looked over her shoulder at the demon, who had still turned away from her, and took a deep but inaudible breath. She paused and figured there was nothing to lose. "... Do you have feelings for me, Magnolia?" She asked, her voice softened but still steady and firm.

Kaleidoscope cocked her head--a rather animalistic thing to do--and glanced at the runes on his body. Her iridescent eyes sparkled with interest. "How does your magic work, exactly?" She asked, happily anticipating a long ramble.

Amaryllis sat up and shifted forms again, pulling a bottle out of her pocket before tossing it to Castiel.
''well the nurse asked me to deliver those, so i hope it holds ya for a little while longer'' she said, smiling a little.

Magnolia seemed to freeze as she inhaled silently yet sharply, sitting up before looking at Wither with a tear stricken face and tears swelling up in her eyes as she looked at her.
she closed her eyes and looked away as she sighed shakily and started to sing.

once she finished and opened her eyes as she looked at Wither, her face erupted a bright red while her eyes seemed to gain a soft pink glow instead of they're normal toxic green glow.
''i-if... that didn't prove that i love you, then i don't know what will....'' she mumbled, openly admitting her feelings now.

Dark looked at her a little confused before realizing she was looking at the runes on his arm, then held his arm out towards her as he caught Kaleidoscope's question.
''honestly.....? i don't know, our little sparring match was a bit of a trial run so i could see my capabilities'' he admitted.
he looked at her for a moment then looked away, rubbing the back of his neck as he started blushing.
''h-hey, if... you want too, you could start calling me Kurai.... that admittedly was my original name before i decided to go with the english version of my name for here...'' he muttered, his blush brightening a little.

"Thanks," he said, his tone brightening a little bit. Trauma's tail wagged, happy that he didn't have to run the errand anymore, with his demented tongue slightly sticking out past his teeth. Cas tossed it on the bed and patted Trauma, slouching back into the couch.

Wither watched her silently, her head cocked and her face straight but slightly blushed. When she finished, Wither smiled softly and laughed. "You could have just said so," she teased, moving in closer and pecking her lightly on the cheek. Worried that she had insulted her, she added, "That was cute. You have a nice voice." She ruffled Magnolia's hair and flopped onto her back on the bed, looking up at the ceiling with the traces of her smile still lining her face. "Well, I'm glad we finally sorted that out."

Kaleidoscope blinked sharply, noticing his blush but not addressing it. "Sure, if you want me to. I mean, I know you as Dark, but if that's what you prefer." She smiled at him. "Are you sure you're doing alright? Do you want some water? You seem flushed."

Castiel shrunk back into his seat a bit. "O-oh, yeah... it's, um... chronic pain. I'm sure I've mentioned it before," he answered, letting out a very strained laugh and rubbing his knees. "It's really not as bad as it used to be, anyway," he added, not being able to lie and say that he was completely fine.

Wither flushed and opened her mouth to say something when a warm orange glow illuminated Magnolia's side. She sat up, clearly annoyed, as Void leaped out of the portal. "There's a nurse coming," he said, his tail swishing the portal back into nonexistence.

"I respect that," she said, already walking over to the water cooler before he answered. Kaleidoscope leaned over and filled the paper cup, her eyebrow raising when she heard him stammer. She handed it to him, cocking her head and staring at him for a very long silent moment. "... Do you have feelings for me? Romantically?"
