Itchy.
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Itchy.Actually, it was only humanity that was destroyed, but it's seen as the same by most, right? The cause, was an outbreak of an unidentifiable disease, which was very poorly handled, and eventually caused the downfall of society and of civilization as we know it.
The reason why wasn't because it was a deadly disease that somehow killed off everyone, but because it was, and is, a horribly contagious disease that turns everything that is infectes into terrifying, muderous monsters. The disease-affectionately nicknamed 'The Itch' because of the terribly persistent and infuriating itching, which is the first symptom, is a not very enjoyable and long process which turns any humans(and certain species of animals) into malformed freaks that retain their human consciousness, that have all control of their bodies taken away from them. They do have free control as long as they ate not around living, moving creatures, though it certainly does nothing to help. They're constantly in pain and are still itching, who have to deal with the fact their bodies have (in most cases]changed into something complete alien.
The remaining people are scattered across the world, searching for somewhere safe, and infection free(which is unbelievably unlikely.) There are plenty of designated 'safe zones' where only those decided by the new government are allowed to stay there and live, meaning; Doctors, Military, Scientists, and the very rare immune, or those who managed to somehow recover from the Illness(Though they are obviously experimented on)
It's been Twenty years since the Outbreak, and the remaining survivors are now used to their constant battle for survival. How long will they manage to hold on, though?

•Pollen or Spores grow in air passages and lungs, causes infection if a non-infected imales any. Travels through air.
•Black outs.
•Avoidance of light.
•Increase in appetite.
•Loss in cognitive functions.

•Previous growths growing larger, on more areas of the body.
•Mutations occur.
•Loss of human consciousness, mindlessly aggressive behavior around prey
•Extra limbs or new appendages grow.
•Intense, blind hunger.
• Pollen or Spores released from entire body-Extremely infectious, even after death.
• Extremely resilient, can still function even when severely damaged.
•Skin is either completely discolored. Skin hardens as well.
•Death, occurs rarely.
•Infected animals gain increased intelligence, and are able to speak a little of a human language.
Treatments:
• Only severe heat or cold kills virus, though it is too high for the infected to survive the treatment.
• Euthanization

Personality: She's quite and reserved, often not responding at all unless directly spoken to. She doesn't trust anyone fully and will be suspicious of everything. She's quite cunning, though she pretend to just be 'an innocent teenage girl.' She also has very little empathy for other's, preferring a 'Put yourself first attitude'. Also, she's kinda rude.

Personality: Honestly, she can be a real b*tch. She could care less about other people's problems, freely stealing from other survivors and looting corpses. In her mind, you should live what life you have left for yourself. She is quite the flirt, and is always trying to get into some other survivors pants. Given her habit of killing any romantic partners she takes, she has taken to calling herself "Mantis". She's not all bad though. In fact, as long as you don't piss her off, she is usually quite agreeable.

History: Selinia was quite young when the infection broke out. She never had a family so it wasn't like she had lost anyone. She had been living in an old abandoned warehouse for a few months. The outbreak didn't effect her life very much, except for giving her another enemy to look out for. One day another survivor stumbled upon her in her home. He tied her up, took everything she owned and left. She sat there for six hours, wondering if this was the end. But it got worse. The man eventually came back, a long cloth bundle strapped to his back. He set up camp there that night. Later in the evening he loosened her bonds slightly. The look on his face told her what he was planning to do. By some miracle she was able to kick free of his grip. She tripped over the bundle as the man started after her. In the cloth was a truly massive gun. In four seconds it was done. The kickback ended up dislocating her shoulder, tossing aside like a ragdoll. The thing gave a sermon to shake the heavens, and the man lost most of his torso. As Selinia lay in pain, she stared at the bleeding corpse. She couldn't help but think it was beautiful, the shimmering red pouring from the tear. She was a changed girl after that. Taking the mans things, she left the old building, ready to kill. She moved about for many years, never staying to long in one place, her only friend being the ragged old Preacher. Whatever she needs, she steals. Whoever gets in her way, she kills.

Also, being 'the most vulnerable' probably wouldn't work out unless she's being protected by a large group, and even then, plenty of people are probably more vulnerable.

Weapon: She was lucky enough to have a grandfather who was a gunman. She carries around three semi-automatic pistols (though she isn't skilled enough to shoot two at once, she finds it more comforting to have more than one gun on hand in case she loses one for some reason).
Personality: She is pretty irritable and she isn't afraid to pull a gun on someone if they start to annoy her (she makes a point to only shoot if she's in danger, though, and only uses this as a warning). Her fiery personality has gotten her into quite a few sticky situations, and getting out of them has only boosted her ego. She will go on for hours about the various battles she's faced and survived.
Appearance:
History: She was left on her own at 14 years old when her father and grandfather got infected. After they showed obvious signs of infection, Sharon packed up her things and left immediately. This impacted her in a very negative way and she began to run from anything. As time went on, she forced herself to get stronger and put her knowledge of handling guns to use.
Other: She's been learning about guns since she was eight and shooting them since she was twelve.

Sharon was resting in an abandoned building. She leaned against a chunk of debris with one leg crossed over the other, her arms supporting her head. The woman seemed almost too relaxed for an apocalypse. Sharon carefully glanced around through half-lidded eyes. The stranded building had once been a small shop, but now it was stripped of anything useful it might have had and had started to fall apart at the seams.
