Beau: //he thrust up with his sword staggering back a little bit
and getting cut with the woman's dagger/ What is wrong with
me...? Why do i feel so weak so suddenly...? //i wondered to
himself before noticing the Dark Mage not far down the alley way/
Have i been hexed...? //he wondered again falling to his
back and laying on the stone ground still slightly shakey
I grinned, pleased with my success. The man looked weaker and
almost feaverish. Pulling out my flux tome, I prepared myself for
battle. Hopefully I wouldn't have to use it on him, but I couldn't
be to carful. Neither party seemed to have noticed me yet, but that
was to be expected. I was hidden by the shadows of the buildings
and I hadn't spoken very loudly. I moved a bit closer, hoping to
maybe scare the man off without having to wound him to seriously.
Maybe if he thought the woman had friends, he would just give up. I
locked eyes with him as he fell beneath the woman's blade.
(Do skills stack? If I hexed you again, would you lose even more
avoid?)
"Tsk" Serene clicked her tongue, watching the man go down.
"What happened to all that spirit? That valir?" She asked, nudging
him with her foot. "It's no fun to play games and immediately give
in, you know-" she murmured. "Absolutely no fun." She continued,
playing with her dagger's
edge.
(well i read the Skill's effects and it lowers an adjacent foe's
Avoid by 15. I think you would have to be directly attacking me for
it to work)
Beau: //he lay there almost immobilized by the hex's effect. He
breathed rather heavily looking up at the theif just waiting for
her to kill him. This isnt exactly the way he anticipated on
leaving this world. He just shut his eyes an took a deep shakey
breath/ If this is what you want, do it now //he opened his golden
eyes again/ Its not like i can do anything to defend myself now.
Serene scowled, kicking his side. "And that's exactly why I'm not
gonna do it. It's no fun if you're okay with dying-" she huffed,
sliding her dagger back into it's rightful place. "Honestly." She
muttered, securing the coin purse to her belt as she grumbled.
I leaned against the alley wall, smirking. This woman was odd. Just
because the guy was ok with dying, she wasn't going to follow
through? "Sorry for ruining your fun." I said. "Most people don't
care whether or not someone is cool with dying."
Beau: You're not going to kill me...? //he asked the theif before
she left/ Why? Im completely open and vulnerable. Normally
criminals would take advantage of that..
"Because, I am a firm believer that someone should die fighting."
She shrugged. "Besides, you'll get blood on my clothes." She added,
before turning towards the other person. "Yeah, yeah, whatever.
Just do me a favor and don't kill him either? He's so innocent, so
young-" she sighed dramatically, before she started to go. "Made a
lottalk ruckus- you might wanna leave, buddy."
I chuckled, giving a bow. "As you wish madam." As the woman left I
moved to the fallen man. Reaching down, I pulled him to his feet.
"Sorry about hexing you. I didn't want you to do something you
might regret later." I bowed. "My name is Vanisster"
Beau: //he sat up as the hexes effects began to wear off. he rubbed
the back of his head and saw blood smeared against his fingers due
to hitting his head rather hard onto the ground/ Yikes...That
hurts...//he grumbled as he stood up and returned the sword to its
scabbard. He looked at the man who had just hexed him/ Beau...and
why did you hex me anyway..?
"To stop you from killing that woman." I shrugged, frowning
slightly at his obvious anger. "All she did was steal a few coins
and you were going to serve as judge, jury, and executioner. Death
is too harsh a punishment for you to dole out." I shook my head, my
arms crossing of their own accord. "People these days don't seem to
grasp the fact that you can't take death back. If you had killed
her, it would have weighed on you for the rest of your life." I
sighed. "Anyway, sorry about you getting hurt. I don't have any
spells to patch you up either."
Beau: //he looked at the man sternly, disregarding his offer to
help his injuries/ Is your head full of Pegasus dung? I wasn't
going to kill her! I was going to turn her in to the authorities!
No way in Naga's name would i kill a woman over some pesky gold! I
only drew out my sword for self defense in case she resisted me!
//he snapped at the Dark Mage out of disbelief that he thought he
was going to execute the theif. He then clung to his hair in pain,
his head pounding from the impact with the stone foundation/ Aghh
it hurts so much!
I put my hand on his shoulder, helping to steady him. "Calm
yourself friend. If you get worked up it will only bleed more." I
spoke in a much more soothing tone, hoping to calm the man before
he punched me in the face. "I apologize for getting you injured,
but it was an honest mistake. All I saw was a large man raising his
sword to strike an apparently unarmed woman. It was an unfortunate
set of circumstances." I conveniently left out the fact that I knew
she was armed. Reaching into a pack I pulled out a rag, handing it
to Beau. "Hold that against the wound and we can go get you fixed
up. I'll pay for the care." I mentally kicked myself. Why had I
said that? I didn't have enough money for medical care!
"Not so fast, you coinsnatcher!" Alastar shouted as he made
a flying leap towards the thief who had stolen (some of) his
well-earned gold. Currently the only thing he had on his person was
his heavy coat and bronze sword, but he would prefer to get this
over with without any bloodshed. Instead, he threw his coat over
the thief's head and flung his arms around her middle to secure
both the coat and her arms, essentially rendering her sightless and
unable to retaliate.
"Gimme back my gold, you rotten scoundrel!" Alastar snarled. "And
learn how to sneak away next time, you won't believe how
easy it was to find you."
Serene screamed, caught completely by surprise. "Are you serious?!
" she spat, struggling violently within the man's hold. She calmed
down for a few minutes, hoping to catch the other by surprise when
she swug her foot back towards where she assumed his leg would be,
and she let out a loud screech. "SOMEONE HELP-I'M BEING
ATTACKED-". It wasn't the best plan, admittedly, but she'd
hopefully she'd have a bit of luck.
Before he knew it, Alastar's leg flew out from under him, and he
landed on the ground with an "oomph." As he fell he grabbed the end
of his coat, and ended up pulling it off of the thief. At the
very least I can't have her stealing that too, he thought as he
hit the ground, clutching the heavy article of clothing.
The tactician was simply angry now as he jumped to his feet, and
his hand itched to reach for his sword but he restrained
himself.
"Look," he fumed, "we can do this the easy way or the hard way. I
just want my money back so I can buy a new spell book. Is that too
much to ask?" He glared at the thief darkly, imagining the many
different things he would do if she didn't give him back his
gold.
Serene immediately put some distance between herself and her
attacker as soon as she was freed and she turned to glare back at
him. "If you can buy yourself a new spell book, then you probably
could stand to lose some coins- i'd very much like to have
something to eat, which I'd put as more of a priority-" She said,
hiding the coin purse in her pouch. "-than some silly book."
She finished
Alalster crossed his arms sourly. "Well if you wanted food all you
had to do was ask." He sighed, and mumbled "Gods." He
ran a hand through his hair.
"It's not beneath me to feed starving people. Now, stealing
from me makes me a little less inclined to help you, but I'll buy
you a meal if it means you giving me my coin purse back." One of
his eyes twitched. He draped his coat back over one of his arms
before recrossing them again as he waited for the thief to make her
move.
Serene narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "Do you really think i'd
fall for something like that?" She'd said, throwing her hands
up. "Honestly- that's a pretty old trick, half-pint. 'Oh! I'm
totally going to actually give you food and not arrest you, or do
anything untrustworthy-'" she said, putting on a fake cheery
attitude. "I wasn't born yesterday" She sighed, crossing her
own arms. "You can obviously get more money- what's so important
about loosing a little bit?"
