I know, I know, before you all start to say "Hey, no stealing from ______!" Hear me out. I was thinking maybe there could be events on the site, or rewards from doing certain things. (Like on Pokefarm there are quests, and also the most common: clicking events.) Maybe there could be art competitions, writing competitions, or maybe just if you click on a special link set up for that day, you get a special Pokemon. It would probably be on the home page, or on your party page, or something like that. Maybe even hire a couple of spriters to make special Pokemon on holidays.

On a side note, I'd also like to see each Pokemon have a unique egg sprite. I've seen this on many sites like this, and I think it would be cool. They might not need to have the exact patterns of the Pokemon every time, but maybe could have similar colors. I remember quite a few years back when I was little, I watched the Pokemon anime, and Ash had a Phanpy egg. It didn't have any designs on it, but it was a dull blue, just like Phanpy. Maybe the egg sprite could vaguely resemble the Pokemon they hatch into, like that. I know something like that might take a lot of work, but the end result would look nice.

I like the egg sprite idea too, and maybe like on Pokefarm (yes, hate me for that) when in the lab the name of the Pokemon is only shown when you have already hatched this kind of eggs once. So you only see the image of the egg, rarity and the type. On the other hand we would need some kind of eggdex to register what eggs were already hatched and what names can be displayed... this would be too similar to Pokefarm I guess.

Quests and Events have been confirmed. It might take a little bit of time before Riako can get them set up fully(Mew is available as an event), as he's the only one managing the site he has a LOT of work to do.
I saw someone offer to help Riako with the egg sprites, but I forget who. I really don't know what to say about having sprites, I'm torn between them. Having sprites could be cool, but I sorta like the suspense of hatching and egg and not knowing what was inside. It does make it more difficult to get pokemon you want, but that could make you appreciate pokemon all the more.

I'm not sure about this one. It would be okay, but the Dex here gets rid of any entries if you get rid of that Pokemon, so I'm not sure how the EggDex would work.

If there were going to be egg sprites and special event Pokemon, I might volunteer for spriting too. I've gotten into it recently, and it's actually pretty fun.

i cant do eggs. its too hard. if you guys wanna see my work. go to pokefarm and look at Umbry's main log. them are my sprites i had my sister put up.

Eggdex would be hard to implement with the current Pokedex system. But how about the appearance of PKMN-Type and Rarity stay like this in the lab, but the eggsprite would appear about 10 minutes after it appears in the egg, and the name of the Pokemon inside after 20 minutes to keep it thrilling.

Again, I offer myself for Sprite work on this site, I know this is no application thread but just as an example of a Halloween Shinx I did for a Sprite contest on Pokefarm (I didnt win though)

as for the event part like Buneary says here is now a event system
and i support the sprite eggs part :3
this site is still new and Riako need to do a Lot of work.

would it be ok if i mentioned custom sprites that you can add onto or win in events for your pokemon? Because I have an idea for mew that i think A LOT of people would like if they like how adorable mew is.

Even though I support the idea, let it be known that both GPX+ & Pokéfarm have and are still doing this. However, since failed ideas from them can be put up to their tests here (for custom sprites if the idea was to be agreed to) I guess it could work?

But remember: if custom sprites are accepted, remember that the nods would have to look at every single sprite, looking for minor errors and if it's good enough (not just recolors).

But the eggs, I think, should be kept as is, to keep mystery.

Also, I think events shouldn't count to the Pokédex, to avoid any confusion and errors.

events belong in the dex. it's common sense to have them there. now CS no. them are out of the picture. 0 dex spots for them

When we really add Event Pokemon (like Fakemon) they SHOULD have Pokedex entries. For Custom Sprites, I don't know...

Yes as the Pokedex is already divided in the 5 regions, Riako could add an extra "region" named Events, so Pokedex would be the smallest Problem.

well i guess i'll mention the custom sprite i don't sprite personally but i love the looks of them & it would a great addition to events but i think there should be a custom sprite of mew with its pink bubbles from the first pokemon movie cause mew looks so cute playing with & laying on the pink bubbles & that would be the best custom sprite EVER sorry for the caps but mew would look so cute and adorable with em' sorry for repeating my self beacuse i think i did but any ways i think that should be part of the current event or another one that you have to have mew to get

Oh you mean something like that? I did that because I was bored and changed Mew into shiny because of a request. But I wouldn't do so many legendaries as Events, this Mew is enough for the time being.
