Dear sir or miss,

We appreciate your interest in your child joining our esteemed school. In this school, they will learn to control their power and, in turn, learn how to blend into life outside of school. Your child will have the usual curriculum if they were still a "normal", though during the afternoon, they will have an instructor that will help them understand their power and how to use it. We also have a large range of ages: some students come at the age of six, if their powers are developing too fast, and others come at the age of eighteen.

I can understand that you might feel worried in letting your child go to a school outside of New York City, though I assure you that your child's safety is our first priority, especially in keeping them from the prying eyes of the "normals". With me as their headmistress, I will make sure that every single rule is followed.

Power: Can take control of people by touching them. While controlling them, both her and the person she is controlling eyes turn pure white. She can only do this for a brief period of time before feeling immense pain or being cut off completely.

History: Marceline was an odd girl since the day she was born, but it didn’t really show until she was older. Her parents first noticed her power when she was eleven, after possessing a bully and making them hurt themselves after beating up her friends. Not wanting to give her up, her parents decided to hide her as long as possible, while allowing her to do every day activities she wanted. But, they couldn’t prevent the event that would send her to her new school. She was sitting in science class at school and the teacher had to take a phone call for a minute. While the teacher was gone, one of the students took a joke too far and threatened to stab her friend. As an act of defense, Marcy quickly possessed the student and made him choke himself till he passed out. After hearing about this, her parents decided that they couldn’t do anything more, and were forced to send her to the school.

Appearance: Standing at 5 feet 10 inches, Marceline has cocoa colored skin and matching brown eyes. Her hair is a dark brown, and is extremely curly and fluffy. She doesn’t have the skinniest body, and weighs around 110 pounds. Since she works out a lot, she has a muscular and curvy build while maintaining the grace of a dancer. She will wear mostly anything, but prefers to wear jeans, leather jackets, and running shoes, sometimes wearing a beanie and bracelets.

Power: Genokinesis. She can move the earth or rocks at will. She can not fully control this power, and it sometimes backfires onto her. (Ex. If she tries lifting small rocks and shooting at her, they may come back and hit her. But, it depends on her temper. If she's angry, the scale from one to ten that it backfires on her is an eight. So the more calm and focused she is, the lesser chance it has to backfire on her.)
Personality: Aggresive, Annoying at times, Snoty at times. Generous, Understands people with problems, Responsible.
History: From the moment Rose was eight, she wanted to be the best psychologist she could. But that changed one day. She once got in a fight with her eighth grade teacher, and she was so angry, the building had lifted for ten seconds. Once she learned that she had powers, she tried to run away from home, so she could still be the best psychologist. Her parents heard about this, and caught her. They forced her to go to this school, and Rose always wishes that one day, she's going home.

Other: She wants to go back home to where she think she belongs, and she hates Ms. Adeline Harris for making this school.

Power: Supposedly, she can transform in to any animal. Currently, she can only turn into a duck.

History: Sasha used to be a good girl. "Sasha clean your room!" Then: "Sure, mom! Love you!" Now: "Yeah, mom..." She hisses.
Now, there is a story behind this odd transformation. She was a great, normal kid. She loved to be outside, play with her friends and read.
Then it was discovered. Her power.
She always complained about animal sounds in her head but her mother always laughed and claimed she had such an imagination. Sasha soaked up the praise and, not wanting the flow to ebb, agreed.
Later in her life, she was sitting outside when she heard the roar of a bear. She screamed and ran outside, pulling her mother behind herself.
That's how Mrs. and Mr. White realized that their child was wrong.
They took her to the hospital, where she still freaked out, and the doctors ran a quick and painless scan of her brain. Sasha's hearing senses were being activated.
Her parents drove her to a mental hospital which she stayed in for a month, over her seventh birthday, and they removed the animal sounds.
Or so they thought.
The voices came back about a week later, but she kept quiet. She saw her parents stressing over the bills and letters so her mouth was sealed.
Three whole years passed and Sasha grew used to the animal sounds in her head. She actually enjoyed them, because, unlike what she had earlier though, those were the animals nearby. She spent a lot of time around wild creatures and her parents marveled at how she always came home without a scratch. At first, they were worried about their girl, especially one who had voices in her head, going out into the forest. One time they caught her stroking a rabbit. She told them that she gave them food and they loved her afterwards.
Which was half true. She did feed them.
Later, her parents got a letter from the academy stating that she had the power to transform into any animal and therefore, could communicate with them.
After she heard about this, she tested the theory. And turned into a duck. She later realized that she could not transform into anything else, which doused her flaming spirit to a small spark.
She was later sent to the academy and fell into a shallow depression, her power was stupid.("Hey, Collin, what's your power?" "I teleport!" "Sasha?" "I can turn into a duck and hear animal voices in my head.) She grew out of this by the time she hit twelve but she wasn't the girl she used to be
Appearance: She is tall (5'6") for her age and has brown hair that dangles just below her ears. Her eyes are a deep green and her skin is tan with bruises perpetually there. She is quite slender, weighing around one hundred pounds.
Other: Ms. Adeline Harris is a very respectable woman.

@Skylarax: Only one thing to correct- her personality seems to have 5 positive and 3 negative. Could you add two more traits in the negative to make her balanced? If that doesn't work for you, just delete two of the positives. Also, just a comment: power wise, it sounds a bit OP, even with the draw back. If your character would be using it, could you make sure that it is fine with the other character's player? Other then that, it looks fine! To make sure we don't clog up the forum, we can move to PalPad or IM's, if you want. c:

@Salamencegirl: only two things to change: power wise, explain how it can backfire on her (ex. the heavier the rock, the harder it is for her to control it.) Unless, her powers fluctuate between her emotions (ex. the angrier she is, her power becomes more sporadic in controlling her element) and personality wise, being aggressive and having the ability to soothe other people are opposites and don't make a lot of sense. It can be either one, but just change one of them. Other then that, you're good! c:

Power:
Nature's Arsenal: With deep concentration, Al is able to change plants into tools, objects, armor, or weapons. However, because he is still learning to control his power, he is only able to create small tools or objects, such as scissors, pliers, nails, etc. As for armor, he is able to create a breastplate and helmet, though there are still holes and kinks in the armor. The one place where he really shines is creating weapons, mostly dabbling in axes. Changing the plants' DNA, he is able to make the plant weapon feel and act heavier. Each armor, object, tool, or weapon is easily destroyed by even a bit of fire, leaving Al open for attacks when he has to drop or throw the now burning item. If he uses his power constantly in a day, his plant creation will become weaker and weaker, each time he uses it again. (Ex. He first creates an ax, which acts like an actual one. Later the ax is destroyed and he tries to create another one: this one is substantially weaker than the first one. etc.)

History:
Al's early life was a simple one: he had loving parents, a couple of friends, and did OK in middle school. He had always had a green thumb, even when he was little. His parents were so impressed at how the plants seemed to bend towards him, while he toddled off. They brushed it off, musing away at their son's affinity towards plants. Despite his looks, Al was a calm and soft-spoken kid; he rarely raised his voice or shouted at someone. Perhaps that was why it took the Academy so long to find him; he entered into the school around the age of fifteen, believing that this was all a mistake and that he was going to go home soon enough. He went to Westview Academy grudgingly, rolling his eyes and shaking his head. This had to be a mistake.

Though it wasn't.

After the first year of being at the academy, he learned of his power and how to control it. Because it had never appeared suddenly in a fit of rage or a stressful moment, he hadn't even know that he had it. Now this is his second year. So far, he's learned to lie low and not cause a ruckus, something his parents would be quite pleased about.
Appearance:
Al stands 6''1 and weighs 150 lbs. He is skinny as a rake and doesn't seem to have a lot of muscles, though looks can be deceiving. He almost always has his hand in his pockets and his head slouched down.His skin tone has gotten darker from standing under the sky, making him look like a "shifty-like" character. The male's eyes are a light gray, and most of the time, they are narrowed with irritation. Most of the time, that is the only expression on his face, just pure annoyance. His eyes dart everywhere while he walks around, like he's afraid someone will jump out at him. As his eyes are a dull gray, his hair seems to have lost its sheen and is now a dull brown. He doesn't take much care of it, so it has grown longer than his mother would have liked it to be.

The clothes he wears outside of the school uniform is simple: dark maroon coat, black beanie hat which keeps his unkempt hair out of his way, black pants, and brown shoes. With this attire and his head down, Al looks kind of like a shifty character. He doesn't admit, or deny this fact, he allows the lies and mutters to pass over him. A scowl is usually on his face, when he talks to other people.

Other: Al wishes that this all was a joke, though Ms. Adeline Harris convinced him otherwise. He wasn't too happy about that.

Power: She is pyrokinetic. Her problems are that she has trouble controlling it, and that she is human, so she is not fire resistant. She has a cancer in her heart and when she over exerts herself, physically, or via her powers, she feels intense pain and sometimes blacks out. (Your character can only have 1 power and it must have a draw-back [ex. Character A has time manipulation, however it only last for twenty seconds, and gives a large strain on their mental physique.)
Personality:
She is usually rather quiet and to herself, which can sometimes be perceived as her ignoring someone.
She is very loyal to her friends, though few they may be.
Her loyalty is also a danger because it may lead her to do something careless.
She has a dual personality, she can be very quiet one moment and then turn around and be very aggressive and angry. Which can take a bad situation and make it worse.
She is very sympathetic and empathetic.
She is usually confident in herself and her abilities.

History: She came on her own because she burnt down her parent's house with them inside, although it was an accident, she still blames herself for their death. She wants to gain control of her ability so her mistake isn't ever repeated.(Should have something here, explain why they were brought here [were they forced to go to the academy?])
Appearance: She stands about 5'3'' with deep red wavy hair down to her mid back, which is usually in a ponytail or braid. Her eyes are a rusty color with gold flecks around the pupil. She has multiple burn scars on her body, which she covers with long clothes. But one on her neck can be seen unless she wears a sweater, which isn't often. She has freckles dotting the bridge of her nose and cheeks.(Include either a picture or a written description)
Other: Her biggest fear is that she will hurt someone else with her fire. She really likes reptiles because they are cold blooded and she can make them more comfortable with the heat from a small fire. She is very grateful to Adeline Harris for creating this academy. (Include dislikes/likes/fear/wants,etc. if you want. If you don't want to put anything, just put N/A)

Power: Electrokinesis. But he can't completely control it, and a lot of times when he does use it, it most likely backfires and shocks him or someone around him. He can also end up getting flashes of horrid pain that last for about a half minute.

History: When he accidentally electrocuted his father, his mother became even more abusive and hard on him than before. She was really afraid of him, and kept him from going into public so he wouldn't hurt others. When she heard of the Academy, she forced him to go mainly so he could learn to control his power, and partly because she had enough with him.
Appearance: He is about 5'10.'' He has messy dark brown hair and eyes with freckles dotting his nose bridge. He wears a dark gray hoodie over a yellow t shirt, as well as dark jeans and red sneakers.
Other: He hates to use his powers around others, because he's afraid to hurt them. Though, he is extremely grateful Ms. Adeline Harris was there to help.

Power: Hes able to manipulate fire. The drawback is he often has a tough time being able to control it at times so he either burns himself, others, or causes small fires.

Why should I chose you?: I have a large group of friends who are usually eager to try something, and I like to think I am easy to approach. I never turn away a question even if it's answer is blatantly obvious. If I don't know an answer I always try my best to either find it or find someone that can answer it. (Are you good at getting to new people to join? Do you consider yourself easily approached, if a question is asked? etc)

Experience: Yes. Not all of which are successful... but... whatever. You can find them all under my contact links. I'm also doing an RP in which I am the Dungeon Master which you can find the link in my signature.
Why should I chose you?: Because we are best friends! X3. I am a good writer (Plus I'm super modest), I obviously have good grammar and spelling, I write more than four sentences in my posts, and I can transition easily between characters. I'm usually helpful and I can think logically (as my friends keep reminding me) but I can also maintain my stupidly strong imagination. I do correct people (i.e mispronouncing a Pokemon's name, spelling something wrong, text talk etc.) often, which sometimes annoys the people I hang around.

Power: Zephyr's power is Aerokinesis. He can manipulate the air, wind and gas but he's still not very good at it, so he can only manipulate small amounts of air and only when he's concentrated.

History: Zephyr comes from a well know family in the Manhattan community. He is the child of a (almost) absent but well established and hardworking father and of a loving, caring but to attached to the public sphere mother. Zephyr was a lovely child, always playing (usually alone or with his nanny) and was always eating. As he grew up he stayed very much the same. Even tough he was popular in his old school, he still played by himself but he preferred this way. He would just use his imagination. When he was about 7/8 years old, whenever we was playing that was always a little wind where he was, was it at school, at the park or at his house. As the years go by, this wind started to intensify, it was always there, present where Zephyr was. But no one seemed to notice it so Zephyr always thought it was something normal. Until he was 14 and when he had his first heartbreak. He was so angry and hurt at everything that one night, while walking in the park, he just started tearing apart trees with just the wind. He never told anyone what happened that night but from that moment on he knew that that wind that followed him was normal. Almost a year later he received the letter from the Westview Academy, so he enroll himself hoping that they would help him.
Appearance: He has short black hair and a little scruff and light hazel eyes. He's a little bit muscular but not that much, heights 6 ft tall. His eyes seem to always be looking at the clouds.
Other: He was really happy when Ms. Adeline Harris accepted him into this school ^^.
