The Didact nodded. "So we know very little besides the fact that she's pretending to be someone she's not and that she's rampant. Are you going in looking for explanations or just a straight up fight?" He asked.

"Our main priority is an explanation." Sliuril answered. "But that might change depending on her activities while we haven't monitored her. She did attack Chief, but it's not yet enough data to act."

"Don't worry, crow." Copper leaned in, a small smile on her face, as she whispered her instructions. "Kill anyone who tries to stop us."

"Of course." Glaurug answered. Without looking, he unleashed one of his missles into the crowd of people.

"Sir, I just picked up a large heat signature at out destination." Beowulf said. Didact whipped around to the displays. "Could you get me visuals?" He asked. "I'll do you one better." The Ai rasped. "We're here."

Didact grabbed a gun and walked over to the edge of the ship. A hole appeared and the ramp descended.

Copper covered her mouth, aghast at the scene in front of her. The village had been blown apart, craters informing the group where the detonations had taken place.

"The trail is still hot." Naomi noted. "I can see the heat signature Glarug's wings left behind as he made his escape."

"Naomi."

"Yes, Dr. Halsey?"

"Give me your helmet." Sliuril demanded.

Wordlessly, the SPARTAN took off her helmet and handed it to Sliuril. The Elf used the thermal imaging to test where Glaurug had gone - and she didn't like the results.

"They're headed for the Oracle. Copper, did the chassis Cortana steal have any-"

"Lifesteal abilities? Of course. It feeds on death." Copper answered. "And what's the Oracle?"

"She must know we can't all go there." Faith grumbled. "Going North would effectively cut our fighting numbers in half."

Jack sighed. "And what might she want with the Oracle?" He wondered. "Well, at least we'll have some time. She would need to find all four glyphs in the Necropolis. Who knows, maybe one of those guards may even manage to get a warning to Snowspire." He muttered.

Didact glanced at them. "So. Heading north, are we?" He asked.

"For now. Do you know where Snowspire Oracle is?" Sliuril answered. "We suspect they might be headed there."

Arguably, it was the only important landmark in the whole area.

((What does the oracle even do.))

(It's split into four parts. Each part needing different glyphs to be interacted with, but the glyphs are lost in the Necropolis. Calran knows everything about creatures and monsters. Avisto knows essentially every major event that has ever taken place, except for conversations. He also can't extrapolate or make connections between events, so you have to ask for them specifically. Yeron can give you a lot of information on any given person. Moryk knows all conversations that have ever taken place and doubles up as a sort of lore-giver. Once again, can't make connections between conversations. If all four are activated, they can consult each other, make connections and sometimes make very accurate predictions about the future.)

"I know of it." Beowulf said, before Didact could answer. The ship took off once more. Didact sighed. "I'm assuming that that's not good?' he asked.

Jack made a non-commital gesture. "It's an endless reserve of knowledge, nothing much."

"It's questionable what an AI like Cortana could possibly gain from consulting the Oracle. There's not a lot she-" Sliuril's eyes widened.

"Jack, would it be possible that the Oracle contains information on how to stop the Immortals? Or the Godsphere?"

"Oh, certainly. I imagine that you would require all the glyphs to allow them to merge their knowledge, but I'm sure they would know." Jack said.

"Okay, that I understood." Didact said, somewhat concerned.

"Don't you dare tell them." Copper hissed, turning to Sliuril. "You know what-"

Sliuril held up her hand, silencing Copper. "I won't. But we need to find those glyphs before Cortana does, or she will force my hand."

"The Necropolis, then." Beowulf said, course correcting. Jack nodded. "So. Finding the glyphs. It'll be tough, but not impossible. At least, not for us. I do believe a lot of humans have died trying to find them." He said.

Didact sat silently, listening to the conversation and drawing his own conclusions.

"We'll be fine, as long as anyone sensitive to the cold isn't involved." Faith grumbled. She turned to the Didact. "I don't suppose you'll let me stay at your ship? I doubt I'd last more than a few minutes."

"You'll either stay, or go to the Godsphere." Sliuril told them. "Naomi and Elijah will have to go with you. Jack, do you know more specifically where the glyphs are kept?"

Jack shrugged. "If I had to take a guess, I'd say the Old Graveyard. They're probably buried somewhere in there. However, the Old Graveyard in itself is... quite large. We'll probably do better starting from the center of it and moving outwards." He said.

There was another minor course adjustment as he spoke.

"Alright." Sliuril answered. She couldn't resist glancing at the Didact during the trip - he seemed to not believe that they were more or less gods, despite the evidence. He also didn't seem to believe in gods at all, although at the very least he showed no desire to try and oppose her. For now.

Finally, Didact reached a decision. "We're not too far out." He turned to Faith. "You can stay on the ship if you please. I'm sure Beowulf will be splendid company."

"That I am." The AI hissed.

Didact ignored it. "And these glyphs... how do they work?" He asked Jack. Jack shrugged. "They likely emit unique signatures that the Oracle responds to." He said.

"Good. If we find one of them, we can figure out what sort of signature this is. Then, I can have the Cryptum scan for similar ones in the area. That might speed up the search a little."

"Thank you." Faith muttered.

Copper and Glaurug made it to the Graveyard several minutes before. They had been busy scanning for the glyphs, until Cooper's scanned had indicated a positive. Glaurug rushed to her.position.

"That was unusually quick." .

"We probably for lucky." Copper remarked. "This graveyard is huge."

That was when they noticed the Composer approaching. Both vanished with a pop of teleportation.

The Cryptum touched down lightly and the ramp came down. The Didact stepped off and looked around, getting his suit to run scans while he took in the surroundings. There were a few overgrown paths, snaking through the gravestones which had been placed seemingly at random. Here and there, the dark forms of crypts loomed above the rest of the Graveyard.

"The immediate scans are coming back negative." He told the others. "Perhaps once I know what to look for..." He muttered, somewhat apologetically. Jack 'hmph'ed and moved forward.

"I'm assuming your scans aren't picking up the traces of magic in the air either. The glyphs are here somewhere." He said.

Sliuril performed her own check.

"I can sense three strong-ish signals that originate from your world, Jack. The fourth one seems to be missing, unless we count you. There is also some magic in the air, but not enough to reliably tell what just happened." She said.

Copper scowled. "I don't see Glaurug here. Either he's late or we are."

"Originate from his world?" Didact asked. He quickly scanned Jack and, waving down the inevitable protest, sent the data back to the Cryptum. It shortly sent back four results in the area. One was, as expected, Jack. However, the other three pinpointed graves. "There. I have our targets." He said. One of them was quite close by. He began striding towards it. "One's right up here. Then another appears to be in a crypt in that direction and the third one is near the East graveyard gate." The Forerunner told them.

Jack huffed in agitation. "I'll go get the one at the crypt." He said.

"I'll grab the one to the East. Copper, you-"

"I'm not coming with you."

"Fine, go grab the one here." Sliuril retorted, and stepped away. A flash of light consumed her, and she appeared near the east Graveyard gate.
