"I see no Elf here - Sliuril, or Artanis as I was her original name - is one of the Elder Beings, the Seven Ones who were as soon as the world was created. Quite possibly before, but you'll have to ask her about that." Glaurug said. "She died of heartbreak the first time around - give her a few years, and I will actually die without her so much as trying."

"Ridiculous. It is true that my power increases with time, but really? Did you have to overestimate my abilities again?"

"Not a word." Locke advised Dutch, who was about to protest. "He's an assassin, I believe it comes with the job."

Sliuril's lips faintly twitched. "You know children, I can sense the radio waves your transmitters are emitting, and am perfectly capable of knowing what you are talking about." She said.

(Fun fact: as long as she concentrates)

"Up yours." Dutch muttered at Locke. "What was that?" Locke asked. "Up yours, SIR!"Dutch exclaimed. "That's better." Locke said sarcastically. "Okay." Dutch said looking at Sliuril. "Then I suppose you don't knock before walking into a room either, do you?"

"It entirely depends on the context, of course. Then again, I suppose I rarely ever knocked when I was developing your squad - so yes, I hardly ever do knock." Sliuril replied.

"Yeah well... hold up, what?" Dutch asked. "Halsey developed our squad." Locke groaned. "You are slow, aren't you?" He asked. "Someone care to explain what's going on?" Dutch asked.

"Oh, I did not mention, did I, that I am professor Halsey? Honestly Didact, I thought I taught you better than that - I suppose I had been rather hopeful that you would at least measure to Faith's intelligence when she was twenty seven - ah, I suppose I misplaced my hopes and reams again." Sliuril jabbered off. Faith rolled her eyes.

"To heck with that, I'm no dragon!" Dutch shouted. "Cut the kid some slack, he's never been one for intelligence. " Locke said over the loudspeaker. "Man, she doesn't need any help! I've insulted enough today, now I'm walking to my death! I expect at least a 'pretty please'." Dutch exclaimed. "Quit yer b****ing and move." Locke said.

"Dragons are naturally retards." Faith deadpanned. "I could barely do algebra when I was twenty, you idiot. The only thing we're good at is killing, problem solving when it comes to mysteries, riddles and stuff like that. Bloody hell, I still can't do algebra!"

"Okay, no offence, but I'm way smarter than the dragon then. Maybe her knowing what you're thinking is something to do with the fact you two seem so attached to each other." Dutch said. "Dutch, me and and my squad are dropping soon. Those Chaos are on their way." There was a click as the radio disconnected, but in the lapse Dutch heard the sound of armored boots and Locke shouting, telling everyone to get to to their drop pods.

"No, the bond we share is something much more connecting - I am bound to her, as she is bound to me. We know perfectly well the minds and thoughts of each other, and I share her pain, as she shares mind." Sliuril explained. "And be careful. There is another Demonspawn in their midst. I would rather not any of you die."

"Okay." Dutch said. "How far away are they?" He asked, readying his Battle Rifle.

Sliuril held five fingers up, and mouthed, "Five.." she decreased one finger. "Four..." at the count of five, all hell broke loose in the form of dozens of soldiers, two Demonspawns, and a wrym. One demonspawn was white and pale blue, white the other was a shocking, electric cyan. Sliuril drew her gun and emptied a whole flaming round into the soldiers.

(Wrym are mounts, and like monkeys. Dragons are like Faith)

"S**t!" Dutch shouted. He started firing his weapon.

Meanwhile, Locke had entered the atmosphere when he heard a scream. One of the pods had disintegrated, along with the soldier inside. All the others pods were heating up. The altitude was going down rapidly.
They impacted. He was thrown about the small pod. Another heart signature went flat on his HUD. He kicked open the pods door. Out of the twelve ODSTS that had dropped, ten survived. Ten doors flew onto the ground and they were firing before they were even properly out of the pods. "Could you possibly make any more noise?" Dutch shouted. Locke looked around and reached into the pod, retrieving a rocket launcher.
"I guess so." Dutch muttered.

Faith hissed and pounced onto the wyvern, as the two engaged in a fierce battle. Fangs, claws and spines flashed with deadly percision, fire raged around them. Sliuril nimbly dodged a feather and retaliated with a bullet in the Demonspan's chest. Her sword appeared again, and she ruthlessly beheaded the Demonspwan.

Locke fired with mechanical precision, firing, reloading, firing again. The Helljumpers were less disciplined, but were doing a good job.

"Tell me that is not a lightning mage." Glaurug muttered, as he sent an orange ball of plasma at the Demonspawn.

"Regroup!" Locke shouted.

Jack observed the Battle from a distance. It wasn't going well. He growled and ran down to the battlefield himself, welding his sword and his magic.

Sliuril cussed loudly as she saw Jack, quickly dispatching whatever she had previously been fighting and shooting a powerful blast of ice his way. Faith roared and bit the wrym's head, her fangs sinking deep and piercing his skull and brain. Glaurug happily let loose on Jack, sending a dozen orange balls of energy his way.

Jack deflected the bolts towards the ODSTs, who dived for cover. In a single movement, he beheaded one and stabbed another before returning his attention to Sliuril and Glaurug. He started with an Assassin Rush, propelling himself behind Glaurug, where he struck with and few bolts of lightning.

"Concentrate fire on the red one!" Locke shouted, noting only eight Helljumpers were left standing
