"Roland, not Ronald. And, that's the name translated to English. Or
would you prefer me to say
Yakon-Antrovolius-Hasterloir-Magmininius?" Chuckled the Didact. He
picked up a piece of equipment. "Hmm... a toy." He aimed it and it
sent out a small laser that partially melted a stack of blank
papers. "Remember playing with these." He discarded it and moved
on. "Ah! Now here's something we can use!" He exclaimed, pulling
out two energy cores from behind a machine.

The ship Carloti had been following seemed to have landed. Not
wanting to be seen she landed her self in a nearby tree keeping out
of sight. She could just about see two figures had left the ship
with a third comeing up just behind. Curiosity getting the better
of her again she began to approach trying to get a better look
while keeping to the shadows.
"Sir, we seem to have an intruder." Said Roland. "Do they have a
giant mace?" Asked The Didact. "No."
"Or seems to be a threat at all?"
"No."
"Then let then approach." He said. Turning around to face the
entrance. Despite what Roland said, he kept his Boltshot at the
ready.

"Didact, we have company. She's hiding in a tree." Galadriel said,
looking at Carloti. Skye stepped back, knowing she would be useless
anyway. Galadriel thrust her arms out, as bindings fromed from her
magic. They moved faster than sound. They wrapped themselves around
Carloti.
"Not exactly subtle." Said the Didact, turning back around and
examining some equipment. "Pulse lasers... Project Prometheus...
Palace Group... Fire team Majestic..." He muttered to himself. Then
he turned around again. "You have a name?" He asked the newcomer.

Surprised by the initial attack Carloti fell out the tree she had
been hiding in. She managed to just land on her feet by
manipulation the air around her. She glared at the strangers unable
to move her arms. " well that's not a very nice way to greet
someone is it. I don't think I'll give you my name until you
apologies for making me fall out that tree." The wind stirred
slightly in response to her anger.
He looked at Galadriel. "Can you believe her?" He turned back to
the newcomer. "Excuse my lack of knowledge of Human traditions, but
I don't think you're exactly in a position to make demands." Said
the Didact, keeping a hand on his Boltshot. "So I'll ask you once
again. Your name."

She would have folded her arms if she could in stead she opted to
scowl and roll her eyes. " then allow me to show you. In human
cultures we begin by introducing ourselfs first. Like so Hello my
name is Carloti I'm a lone traveler. Now your turn"
The Didact helmet palmed. Then he put on a voice dripping with
sarcasm. "Hi! I'm Ur-Didact, but you can call me Didact. I'm a
Forerunner, which for the record are a more or less completely
superior race to humans, from across the universe!" He turned back
around and started consulting his holo-pad.

Carloti smiled sweetly and replyed with equel sarcasm "pleasure to
meet you Didact the forerunner." Turning as best she could to the
other two present " so how about you two? And could which ever of
you has this binding thing on me get rid of it i like being able to
do more then twitch."
"Perhaps I will." Galadriel said, her voice faintly dripping with
sarcasm.
"Wow, you must be really pissed to resolve to sarcasm." Skye
jabbed.
'Yes, I am quite tired, and angry and impatient after today. So
I think I will be making quite a few rash decisions, Skye.'
Galadriel replied, her annoyance back to controllable levels.
'Sure. So long as none of them end up with me turning into a
pulp.'
The Didact started flicking through a paperback copy if 'Of Mice
and Men'. "You know, I have always admired humans for their
literature." He stored the book in his bag for later reading. "So,
I suppose you want names?" He asked Carloti. "You have mine, but
it's not up to me if the other three choose to reveal their
identities."

'And just how am I supposed to... Oh, never mind.' Galadriel
was about to say, but thought better of it. She turned back to
Carloti. Not that she had looked away. She bent her powers on the
Mutant, searching her memories.
'Aren't those privete?'
'Maybe if she had not sneaked up on me.'
'... Alright then.'
"My name is Galadriel, Lady of the Golden Woods, Lady of Light,
Lady of Lorien and a dozen other titles besides." Galadriel stated.
"And as for your bindings, I will not remove them until I am
confident you can be trusted."
"Well then..." Said The Didact, taking the book back out, sitting
down and putting his legs on a desk, "it seems like we'll be here
for quite a while." He started reading.

"Yes, yes we will." Galadriel simply said. "And now, if you will
excuse me Didact, I have to and check on Skye's wings. Before they
start to have a deformity."
"And how is that supposed to make me feel better about his whole
mess?" Skye asked. Galadriel didn't answer. Skye followed Galadriel
back into the ship.
"Okay. I guess I'll just stay here." The Didact called after them.
"You never oughta drink water when it ain't running, Lennie," he
said hopelessly. The Didact read. "You'd drink out of a
gutter if you was thirsty." The Didact smiled. He finished the
rest of the first chapter and stored away the book. He twiddled his
thumbs. He wasn't a particularly patient individual. He got up and
started pacing around. "Roland, launch a game of chess. Me against
you." The Didact said. Soon, they we're say at a desk, a
holographic figure of a Forerunner in similar armor consulting over
a holographic chessboard. Despite being blunt, AIs were very
intelligent and the game promised to be fun.

Galadriel returned, albeit without Skye. She glanced for a few
seconds at Didact and his game of chess. She glanced at the Mutant
called Carloti. She flicked her hand, and the bindings were gone.
She walked back towards Didact, as she watched the game progress.
She knew what chess was. She just never bothered to play the game.
"Check." Cried the AI. The Didact observed the scene. He eliminated
the attacker with a Bishop. "Checkmate." Smiled the Didact. He
pushed his chair back and noticed Galadriel standing there. "How's
Skye?" he asked. The AI and the chess game disappeared.

Glad to finally be free again. Carloti shock herself off before
turning to say. " well thats my people quota filled for a while so
I'll just be heading on my way. I'll leave you to your funny ships
and long names" she turned and headed towards the end of the
clearing muttering to herself about manners. Her stomach gave a
huge grumble " urg I forgot about finding food" she stoped and
glsnced back at the strangers looking thoughtful. I wonder if they
have any food i could trade for she thought to herself.
