So in games you actually have a change of finding items on pokemon if you catch them.
I was thinking once your egg hatches it could have that chance of holding that item as well. It's not really that big of deal to input this or not because it might take a lot of coding.

But then again trubishes actually have a chance of finding nuggets on them O.o so I don't really know how that would turn out. :P

Anyways I'd like to hear some of your opinions on this.

the only place i could see this suggestion making sense is at the honey tree, where you actually catch pokemon from the wild

i don't think pokemon would hatch from eggs with an item already attached to them

I'm neutral to this. It would be nice to have, but as AutumStar stated, it wouldn't make much sense that the items would have to be INSIDE the egg.

The only reason for newborn Pokemon to "carry" items would be that you found the item in the nest (yeah, I declare now all Pokeheroes-eggs rest on nests) of said egg.

Well, I was thinking about something similar - but instead of random items, there would be a small chance that when the pokemon hatches it will have a Gem (type of pokemon would determine the type of a Gem). For example there would be X% chance for just-hatched-Deino to have a Dragon Gem - this way we would have one more way to aquire small amounts and small chance of every gem - so it won't change their rarity.

Normal Gems for Ditto collected:

Your, but then, wouldn't we be copying Pokefarm's idea?

I'd support this only if it was for Honey Tree Pokemon or even possibly, Tall Grass Eggs.

@Diana I don't play on PokeFarm and I have no idea what is there, so my ideas are not a copy of theirs (well, maybe they are but only accidentally). Even if they were - if it's working there, why would it be a bad idea here? I don't really understand this type of logic "something is already somewhere in the internet - we can't have it!". If we would like to go along with it we shouldn't have this site either, because there are pokemon games already, because there are adopting and clicking pages already...

Yoru - We can't have it here because people pay for some things on this site, including flutes, which cause Eggs to hatch more quickly, which allow users to get gems. Therefore, Riako would be indirectly getting money off of PokéFarm's idea. Do you not know what stealing is? Adoptable sites, on the other hand, are legal to make because the idea is free to use or something. Otherwise, why else would there be SO MANY adoptables sites? That would mean that all of them are breaking the law, too.

Sketchi - I agree with Autumnstar on this; only Pokémon you got in the wild should have them. Pokémon don't hatch from Eggs holding items even in the games, so it would make sense for the same to apply here. ^^ (When Rumble battling is added, this could apply there as well. ^^)

Yoru: I like your idea, but we can't have it be the exact same way, for the reasons CarpetMonster mentioned. I know the logic is flawed, but that's pretty much how it always is in the business world. I couldn't agree more about that.

pokefarm probably isn't the first site that has had eggs hatch with items, there's just so insanely many adoptable sites that it's bound to happen on at least more than one, the idea isn't copyright and it can't be proven that it's unique to any one site either

either way, my previous statement still stands and i don't think eggs would hatch with items :p

I didn't mean so much that it was because of Eggs hatching with items but that I don't think many other sites just happen to be Pokémon adoptables sites that have Eggs occasionally hatch with Gems and just happened to restrict it to only Gems of the Pokémon's type other than PokéFarm.

I know what you mean but Gems are something that is created in nature and so, maybe pokemon fluids inside the egg have a chance to react with pokemon's energy and become solid or maybe something similar happens to a fragment of egg shell - that was my logic behind this idea

And I don't think it's stealing, they didn't copyrighted or restricted it in any way. And Riako wouldn't get money of this idea either. So what, if someone hatches eggs faster? I can hatch them faster if I interact more too... And it doesn't mean they will have better chances to get Gems, the chance is still the same. It would be as you say if there was a flute or something that rises the chance to get a gem.

It would bring down the value of gems, also. Gems that should be easy are already easy to come by, gems that are hard to get should remain that way. You don't think people will hatch Dragon and Dark type Pokemon specifically to get these rare and particularly useful gems?

If you have chance, that depends on gem rarity, then, no. Let's say there's 10% chance for normal gem, 5% for grass and 1% for dark - you would have to hatch 100 dark pokemon to get 1 gem (and if the example would be dragon, it would be even harder because they have lots of EHP). To get a grass gem you would have to hatch 20 and for normal only 10. The key is the rarity of each gem... It wouldn't change a thing. Maybe only that that more people would be breeding pokemon and there would be more pokemon for trade etc. It would be similar to shiny hunting - some ppl would hunt gems like they hunt shinies, but most ppl will only consider themselves as very lucky if they obtain it by accident.

I agree with Autumnstar. Eggs don't hatch with items. If it would be Pokemon from Route 53, that would make more sense.

Pokémon are recruitable through some Rumble Areas, so could be considered "Pokémon caught with x item"
The consensus seems to be that no items should come from hatching an egg.
