Wonder Trade
Forum-Index → Suggestions → Rejected → Wonder TradeSometime, people receive the same Pokemon they set up. For example, I set up a Pichu and receive a Pichu. This defeats the purpose of the 'Wonder' Trade. My suggestion is that the system should automatically eliminate Pokemon that you already have from getting to you again, so i do not recieve the same Pokemon.
Also, if that is not implemented, this should. The system could try and only give you Pokemon that you do not have in your Dex :3
Also, the PokéHeroes Wonder Trade is based in the original Pokémon games, when you receive a really random pokémon. So, if I only need a Jigglypuff to complete my PokéDex and I set up a Remoraid in a Wonder Trade, I only can receive a Jigglypuff. The Wonder Trade exists to surprise the users. Not to complete their PokéDexes.
I'd support under the condition that you've got a small percentage (like, literally, a fraction of 1% kinda thing, since wonder trade is pure luck) of a chance to get pokemon not from your dex, obv, you'd still get duplicates for the majority of wonder trades, but aside from that; that's all I can really suggest/see happening xp
as for your suggestion for only receiving pokemon not in your dex, how exactly would it work; if say; someone who has all regional pokedex exluding a few legendaries/ditto, etc and the wonder trade happens to not have any of those pokemon in it. Would they get nothing in return? Or would the system default to normal and just give them whatever?
Besides, when I DO receive something new with random chances, then it's a really nice surprise for me.
I think It's good as it is. But it's only my opinion :3
The chances of getting the same pokemon in return on-site all depends on randomness and how many of that pokemon were put into the wonder trade that day.
Such as if 50 users put in Pichu, 150 users put in Magikarp, and 25 users put in random other pokemon, then there will HAVE to be Magikarp for Magikarp trades. But there's still a fair chance that they will get something else.
So keeping to the point of the wonder trade, there's no reason to restrict it to where you can't get the same species back.
In my opinion to implement such feature would cost a good amount of time to be done.
Why ? Because you would need to check every single user's Dex and if they already have that Pokémon that was "selected", the system would have to pick another random Pokémon till it finds one the user didn't have and such thing takes a lot of time.
The system wouldn't only just check if you already have the Pokémon in your Dex but the other user that you are going to trade Pokémon.
So it would be something like : person "A" puts a Pichu in the WT and the person "B" puts a Gardevoir in the WT as well.
The system would compare the person "A" and "B".
It would check if the person "A" doesn't have a Gardevoir and let's say that's true but person "B" already have a Pichu so the system would have to continue till if finds a suitable trade for both users.
I'm not so sure about the quantity of users that participate in the Wonder Trade but I'm pretty sure is more than 20 and verifying a certain condition over and over again takes a good amount of time and I'm pretty sure the Wonder Trade wouldn't happen at 20:00 ST but it would take a while to the trades to be revealed.
I don't really see a need for such a thing, I would just make things more complicated even though you would get a Pokémon that isn't in your Dex.
Anyway, I do not support this suggestion.
