My favourite starter is Bulbasaur. He is cute and his evolutions are pretty good. And as bonus, he has got two types, grass and poison.
I like other two Kanto starters too. Charmander with his evolutions is awesome and Squirtle with his evos too!
About Johto, there is Totodile my darling.
I don't like Hoenn and Sinnoh starters so much and in Unova I like only Oshawott and his evolutions. Hm, in Kalos I really like Fennekin and evolutions and Froakie with his evolution, they are cool too C:

Kanto: Don't have a favorite, but I guess I'd pick Bulbasaur.
Johto: Totodile (my absolute fave!)
Hoenn: Mudkip
Sinnoh: Turtwig
Unova: Oshawott
Kalos: Chespin (Chesnaught is my second favorite starter after Feraligat'r)

Apparently I'm not fond of fire types, haha... though I do love Cyndaquil. I just love Totodile a little more.

As a general rule of thumb, reptilian-looking starters tend to be a favorite of mine (Charmander - or all Kanto starters, really, Totodile, Snivy, Treecko especially), with Chimchar and Fennekin being the only exceptions to that rule.

But, out of all of them, it'd be Totodile for me. I love crocodilians a lot - ever since I can remember, and grew really attached to the lil' blue croc and its evos.
