Once out of class, Crystal stared blankly at her schedule. "Our
next class is free time!" she declared. She heard Jinx let out an
annoyed hiss as Violet simply left, obviously simply annoyed by
Crystal's insistence to joke around. Anyone else would think she
was serious. "Lets go find other people," Crystal said to Jinx
cheerfully, who would've wandered off herself if she had a choice.
Mattie was flipping through the pages of a book titled "Savvy" by
Ingrid Law when she remembered she had come into this humongous
library with Bellatrix. She glanced around, but there was no sign
of the life-sucking girl in pigtails. With a shrug, she continued
to read her book while walking through the rows of bookshelves. She
spotted a girl in the medical section and frowned. The girl was
unfamiliar, so Mattie decided to stay away for the time being. She
veered away from the medical section and found a seat by an open
window. "Wonder where all the others are," Mattie thought. "Some students probably haven't arrived yet. This school is so
far away from civilization," Metis pointed out. "Good point. Where do you think Bellatrix went?" Mattie
asked. "I have not a clue," Metis replied.
Mattie paused from reading and looked out the window. The clear
blue skies now had dark clouds blotting them.
"Looks like it's going to rain," Mattie said out loud.
Bellatrix had immediately wandered to the back of the library,
where there was a huge stained class window with a little loveseat
windowsill under it, with room for two. She browsed the shelves and
grabbed a book, getting comfortable on the loveseat. She opened up
the book and started to read.
Cam entered the library, and was momentarily stunned. It was way
larger than he expected, and was larger than the one at home.
Reading was one of his favorite past times, and his family owned
quite the library. He chose a book from the nearest bookshelf, and
his eyes lit up. It was the first book of the Mysterious Benedict
Society trilogy. "Barely a minute inside this library and I already love it,"
Cam thought. "I agree wholeheartedly," Theseus nodded.
There were some distant sounds in the library; they were mostly
sounds of pages being flipped, however. Cam wondered where the heck
everyone else was.
Joralee walked over to where Cam was standing. "Hey, do you know
where everyone else is? I see two girls over there, but there's no
sign of the girl who was with your counterpart."
Shade sighed and set down the book, returning it. Taking out
another book, she skimmed the table of contents. A small sign
caught her eye. Beside the AHAD section, a small crest was printed.
A griffin wearing a thorn crown made of silver, blood was dripping
from the griffin's head. In it's outstretched paw, was a silver
dagger. The background of the crest was green with touches of
silver. Shade flinched, recognizing her family crest. Quickly
flipping to the ADHD section, she scanned the article finding
nothing out of the blue. Clutching the book, she checked it out and
quickly stuffed it into her book. Returning to the medical section,
she took out a third book, badly shaken.
