I don't like the idea at tbh if you want to give up then just stop bidding on the auction. You get your money back when you lose its not like the end of the world.

Quote from meI support

All they are saying is this

Say there are 4 auctions for shiny bidoof [all expiring at the same time], and they bid 50k on one bidoof, leaving them with 45k

Someone else outbids on this bidoof, maybe going up to 60k

person a can then continue the bidding war for this one bidoof, or go purchase one of the other bidoofs with a minimum bid of 49k

But wait! they only have 45k in their account now because that 50k is in auction limbo until the auction ends, even if they can't afford it!

---

The suggestion just means if you're outbid, your PD comes out of auction limbo and goes back to your account, so you can bid on a different pokemon if you desire. It's not like backing out of an art auction, and they're not suggesting that the person with the top bid can back out.

If you decide to outbid someone, that's on you, why should person A be penalized for person B outbidding them? They're not purposefully raising the auction price, and even if they were, person B shouldn't keep bidding if they don't feel the pokemon is worth that much.

But if there are 5 shiny Biddof already in the auction why would the other person bid on the same pokemon. He can simply bid on the other bidoof. This makes more sense.
Rather i would suggest:
Whenever there is an auction battle going on, the moment you bid on a pkmn the time should increase by 10-15 seconds
For example if someone outbid you with only 2 sec remaining then the time should increase by 10 sec so the other person also have sufficient time to bid on the pkmn.
And i guess this is also how real life auction are conducted.

First @ you - That's an entirely different type of suggestion

Okay fine, bad example.

You're bidding on the bidoof and you're outbid
There's an auction for a shiny zigzagoon ending at the same time

This suggestion gives your money back once you are OUTBID, and allows you to bid on the zigzagoon, because the money you were going to use for the bidoof is back in your account..

I really like this idea because my friend had an incident a while back which caused her to lose 15,000 PD and she never got the PD back from the trade! I really hope this idea gets implemented!

or when you're bidding on 2 auctions, losing 1 by a lot and the other you could win with the money you've already invested in the losing auction... this would be great

giving support for this one, helpful, especially if you threw in a high amount of money, someone overbids and there are other outrunning auctions you might be interested in. i don't see any need for the waiting time...

I support but I think that you should only be able to withdraw if you are not the current top bidder.

No support because people can just go to auctions simply to raise the price and have no repercussions ^^" Someone could go, do bids on pokemon, wait for someone else to bid higher, then just cancel their bid and bid higher again, continuously raising the price on a pokemon (or multiple). At least, having your PD held until the end of the auction helps for auctions with a longer timespan at first.

I could see Lugia's addition (not being able to withdraw if you're the top bidder) makes sense, but I feel like there could also be a "Only withdraw once per auction" kind of thing so you can't repeatedly withdraw, bid, withdraw, bid on one auction. If those two rules were implemented I'd like the idea/support it more--
