A part of her wanted to go on to Route 1, but after the lady had given her those berries, she felt like leaving so soon would be rude. Should I buy something? she wondered, a familiar feeling of awkward obligation filling her. Getting more berries is an option, but that kinda defeats the purpose of her giving some to me. She scratched her head. I can't exactly carry around a flower pot either. Oh...
Cody sneezed, interrupting her thoughts. Tara looked down at him. The Oshawott had stopped to smell a flower as well when she wasn't looking, and apparently the pollen had been a bit overwhelming. "Bless you," she said, smiling a little.
Cody wiped his nose in the most dignified way he could. "Osha."
In a lighter mood thanks to the Pokemon, Tara continued looking around the store, searching for something, anything, she could buy.

Joey saw someone picking his way through the tall grass, towards him. Someone considerably older than him. The young man has a guitar slung around his shoulder. So that's where the music had come from. He perked up when he saw the three Pokemon traveling with him. Perhaps he wants a battle?
Anyways, it's trainer conduct to accept a battle if challenged. Joey waved him over. "Hey, mister! Care for a battle?" The boy called while fingering the Pokeballs in his hands. He has two loyal Pokemon, which he hoped would beat this young man. Although he looks strong.

Then there are berries. Scattered around the land are many berry plots, free to use. Burying a berry will create more berries, which can create more berries. And so forth. There is almost every type of berry available. Sweet, sour, bitter; all of the flavors.
One last thing is a watering can, which is pretty much what you need to plant berries. It's shaped like a Psyduck. It's not cheap, but not expensive. You need it for watering berries, so later you can harvest them.

Tara bit her lip. She honestly had no real plan. Having little experience as a trainer, she didn't know what to expect, and in a region this mysterious it was ten times worse. She retraced her steps through the shelves, heading over to the check-out counter. She felt completely unprepared for this journey, but hopefully whenever she looked at the Psyduck-shaped watering can, she'd be reminded to take it one step at a time.

Atrus gave a smile to the young trainer and gave a nod to him. "That's simply perfect. I have two Pokemon that have yet to battle, so why don't we make this a double battle? Two Pokemon each, both out at the same time?" he suggested. Simply battling one at a time didn't tend to require as much skill as commanding two Pokemon at the same time, and often required a higher level of strategy.
He looked over to his Shinx and Pidgey, giving them both a nod. "If you're okay with those battle conditions, I will be facing you with Sable and Skyla. We can begin when you are ready." the teen trainer added as he readied his guitar. Skyla fluttered down from his shoulder to hover to the left of Sable.

Noting that Tara isn't holding anything else, the woman spoke again. "That will be $250, please." She waited expectantly for the teenager in front of her to give her the cash.

As she waited for her to ring up the purchase, Tara preoccupied herself with tracing the rim of the Psycan with her finger. It was so silly to feel self-conscious here; she was just another customer to this lady, nothing more. She would probably forget about her before the day was over. But yet the fact that she'd been even just slightly distracted nagged at her. Tara tried to keep her face passive, not wanting the cashier to see her embarrassment.

"Race snivy?" Tom asked snivy nodded a Yes and they started running. Out of breath They sat down and drank some water out of a bottle. Tom looked at his empty pokeballs "I wonder what pokemon we will catch snivy"
Tom stood up after the break with "Snivy your nickname is Leaf okay?" Tom asked. Snivy nodded Happily "Ok leaf wanna race again?" Leaf nodded and they starter running again. They Stopped in the middle of racing eachother and checked the pokedex.

The trainer grinned at Atrus. A double battle! The young boy had never had one of these battles before, only one-on-one battles. Fortunately for him, he's familiar with the Pidgey and the Shinx, as they're both common species around here. The boy, named Sam, had seen new trainers with Torchics before, but they were still very unfamiliar with him. The boy took two Pokeballs clipped to his belt and clicked the white button.
The Pokemon materialized from a beam of red light. Sam had never quite understood how they fit in there, but he never bothered to do any research to shed light on the matter. A Wurmple looked at the Pidgey and the Shinx in front of them and blinked. The other Pokemon, a Starly, bristled in anticipation of the fight. "You go first." Sam said, as he isn't sure what to do for his first move.

Being exposed to sunlight makes its movements swifter. It uses vines more adeptly than its hands.
Evolves at Level 18.
Then, an icon on the Pokedex's screen blinked. The Pokeradar, an app on the device, showed that Tom and Leaf are currently on Route One. It then showed a list of Pokemon and their rarity.

Tom and leaf were running for 5 minutes They sat down and drank some water from the bottle "We should take a break" They took a break for 4 minutes and stood up "Ready to run?" Leaf nodded. They started running once again there first goal was to find a pokemon.

Atrus gave a nod as he gripped his guitar and pick and began laying out an intense tune. "Alright then, let's rock!" he called out as his Pokemon readied themselves for battle. Since they were both using only two Pokemon and both Pokemon were out at the same time, there'd be no way to recall a Pokemon to cancel out any stat effects.
"Sable, use Leer! Skyla, Tackle the Wumple!" he commanded while his fingers and pick strummed along the strings of his guitar. The Leer would sink their defenses a bit, in order to make Skyla's Tackle hit harder. In order to make sure he wouldn't suffer a potential drop to his speed, he'd have to take down the Wurmple first.

The Starly felt a little unnerved. Instinctively, it knew that this strange Pokemon is a Snivy. However, since these Pokemon are rare and alien to Route One, the Starly had never seen one of these grass snakes before. Feeling a little threatened, the bird swooped down and landed directly in front of the trainer and his Snivy with a hard gaze. This Starly wanted a battle, and it was not about to go until she got one.

Not sure whether he could command his Starly to attack as well, he hesitated for a moment. Then he decided that he could, and he called, "Starly! Attack the Pidgey with a Quick Attack!" The battle-ready Pokemon flew up a few inches from the ground and flew at Skyla in a blur.

"You wanna try to catch this?" Tom asked leaf nodded its head "Ok lets do this!" Tom yelled. "Leaf use Tackle!" Tom yelled leaf ran at starly moving to the left side of starly and using tackle.

Atrus continued to play his guitar while he kept his eyes trained on the battle. While his Pokemon were taking hits separately, he was focusing on one target at a time and using both Pokemon to bring them down individually. It was time to bring Wurmple down.
"Skylacome in with another Tackle on Wumple! Sable, Follow-up with a tackle of your own on Wurmple!" Atrus called out. Skyla spun herself on her side in the air after taking a hit and soared down to strike at the Wurmple from the side. Hit or miss, she'd swing herself upwards into the air again. Sable rushed at the Wurmple , aiming to hit it from the front shortly after Skyla's attack.
