Dragon shrugged, and Luna looked over to Hazel and Chester. They
both shook their heads no. "Alright. So we're just going to go out
into the unknown, where we've never been, and live off what we can
find?!" Chester cried in shock. "Sounds good to me," Luna shrugged,
leaning against Dragon's shoulder.
"Well... It's what Luna and I have for a period of time in our
lives. Flare, one of their hunters, know us. He'll know where we
might go. And if we go out into the unknown... Well, it shortens
the chances of being found." Dragon replied, his ear flicking.
"Dragon's right. Its better to go scavenging than go somewhere we'd
be endangered." She agreed.
''luna.... draco and thorn need to be in the safety of a cave.....
out there without ong they could end up hurt..!'' she whispered to
her, swift's voice shaking with emotion's.
buster was talking to all four of the pup's while chester and hazel
were in the very back of the cave grumbling to themselve's.
swift on the other hand, was looking really upset.
"Swift, Draco and Thorn are old enough to go one night under a log
or something. It's not like it's winter, they'll be fine!" Luna
argued a bit too loudly. Thorn slipped out of Buster's lecture and
came next to Swift to see what all the ruckus was about. "Draco and
Thorn what?.." He asked, tilting his head. "Nothing, Thorn, go play
with a mouse carcass or something," Luna replied idly.
"Aunt Luna, most pups don't play with mouse carcasses..." Thorn
said, his ears pinned down in offense. "Dragon and I did. Just run
along," She replied, giving Thorn a little nudge. She turned back
to Swift. "Swift, it can't possibly be that hard to find a grotto.
Have you seen the look on the pups' faces? They are rarely able to
go out, and it takes loads of climbing before they can reach grass.
The grass down there is hard and burnt, too," She said.
luna still hasn't figured it out yet has she... swift
thought to herself.
she sighed and looked at the ground, pinning her ear's back.
''i know luna... it's just, i'm worried........ i don't want them
to near, or even think of that awful pack...... i don't like the
thought of leaving the cave at all.... it's quieter, dryer..
safer.....'' she muttered.
thorn had decided to head back over to where draco, venom and moon
were again, still being lectured to by buster.
"Quiet, lonely, and up in a mountain isn't the way a pup should be
raised, Swift." She grumbled, giving a look at her friend. "It's
summer, and we shouldn't be worried. Besides, I've seen a small
forest beyond the mountain. We can deal with it there, if we don't
find a cave until the nighttime we can find a log." She reassured.
swift sighed in defeat.
''fine just... fine..'' she muttered and headed out of the cave,
her ear's still pinned back.
she just need's to be out of the cave for a bit.
tear's were trickling down her face after she stepped out of the
cave, as if something caused her to be so protective.
Venom looked up at Buster. "Blah blah blah blah... Blah blah
safety... Blah blah..." Was all he heard. Draco seemed bored as
well as Moon, and Thorn didn't budge. "Can we go now?" He blurted
out, stopping the lecture. Buster looked at him. "Venom, I'm giving
an important talk about your safety," He replied softly. "If its so
important, then why is nobody else listening?" Venom replied,
without the slightest hint of sarcasm or mischief in his tone.
Buster didn't reply, but looked at the other pups. Moon had
suddenly became interested in the opening of their cave. The grown
wolf sighed, as if fed up with Venom already. "Fine--you can go
play," He sighed, and Draco bounded out of the awkward scene.
moon, draco, and thorn all bounded for the entrance as the tackled
each other and growled playfully, nipping at each other's ear's and
nose's.
buster, hazel and chester all decided to take a nap in a sibling
pile in the back of the cave as all three of them started snoring
quietly.
draco tackled thorn and they both yelped as they both tumble into
the wall.
''sorry'' draco said backing up.
''it's alright...'' thorn muttered as his eye's seemed to lose and
gain focus, star's coming into his vision.
moon laughed and helped thorn up.
The soft glow of dim sunlight woke Dragon up. He was so anxious to
get moving, and mostly to get Venom (and, oh yeah, the others too)
out of the way of those mangy pack wolves. He looked around for
Luna, to find that she had taken herself to the far edge of the
cave, probably just for the view of it. He lay there, waiting for
the rest to awaken.
(Pfft wait until I start reciting Shakesphere.
Let the bird of loudest lay
On the sole Arabian tree,
Herald sad and trumpet be,
To whose sound chaste wings obey.
But thou shrieking harbinger--
Nah just kidding o3o)
swift limped into he cave with her ear's pinned back.
''bird-brained rogue wolves..... trying to come near this cave they
pay for it.......'' she grumbled as she walked to the back of the
cave and curled up, falling asleep right when her eye's closed.
Luna had woken up as she glanced at Swift, even in her sleep the
golden-brown furred wolf's ears were grudgingly pinned. She hadn't
seen Swift as happy as they used to be ever since... Ever since
they'd met the pack.
buster yawned and rolled over in his sleep, though not waking
up.
chester was no where in the cave, so he must have went hunting
before anyone else got up.
hazel was just napping near the mouth of the cave.
