Barely giving a thoughtful glance up at the dim, peachy-pink rise of the sun, she gave a quick groom and trotted out of the apprentices' den, in the best mood she'd been in for a moon.
It felt good for the glee to surface. Her tail curled in a hook-like way, but straightened and swished, a purr rumbling in her throat as she saw the thick, fluffy tufts of a golden-brown furred apprentice padding up to her.
"Hey Blossy," He mewed lazily and nuzzled her ear lightly with his nose. Blossompaw gave a light, heartful chuckle and leaned over to murmur in his ear. "Wake up." He looked at her blankly and blinked, as she playfully pawed at his face. Her cold-hearted white mentor trotted up to her and snapped. "Training. Come on." Blossompaw nodded at Eaglepaw and skipped away.
silverflame stretched and flexed her claw's, scratching up a bit of the earth.
''me and brackenpaw will be patrolling the boarder's...'' she murmured and walked out heading for the apprentice den.
''brackenpaw, wake up..'' she muttered and he yawned.
''yeah, yeah i know...'' he grumbled and stretched.
they both walked out of the camp and patrolled around checking log's and bushes.
Ravenclaw remembered the foggy day hazily, without any details. Silverflame accepted her challenge to a race on a large oak tree. Ravenclaw leaped onto the first branch, going branch by branch as quickly as she could, even though her friend was clearly in the lead. Ravenclaw gave a powerful leap to the nearest branch, barely leaping onto it. A yelp slipped out of her, and the next thing she knew she was falling down the tree at a high speed. Her eyes shot open. It was a dream, She reassured herself, beginning to rise on her paws.
A large, light-brown tabby tom glanced at her, and his enormous paw slammed onto her back, sending her down. Ravenclaw hissed in protest, her eyes narrowed in fury. "Hey! What was that for?" She snapped, growling. The medicine cat glanced at her, and the OakClan warrior suddenly noticed her surroundings. She was in an arched cave made of tightly packed sticks, the ground was layered in soft grass and a thin sheet of moss. It scented of lavender, marigold, and dandelions. Herbs were stacked along the side of the den. Treefoot sighed, removing his paw slowly from her spine.
"You go ahead and try to get up, Ravenclaw." He grumbled. She glanced at him uncomfortably. I just woke up in the medicine den... Could that mean?... She shook the thought away. She slowly rose to her paws, but she tumbled back down onto the ground. "I-i.... I can't feel my hind leg!" She shrieked in disbelief, staring up at the old medicine cat. He just shook his head and tutted. "I thought it was only broken. I'm sorry, Ravenclaw, but this is something that StarClan cannot fix at this point. We can't heal your leg," He looked at her with sympathy, and unwrapped the bundle of herbs covering her leg.
"W-what?! Treefoot, I can't--" She protested. Her nose buried into her paws.
the cat was breathing shallow breaths.
scar's crossed her face and side's running almost the whole length of her body, and about half of the she-cats left ear had been torn off.
the young warrior had been in a brutal fight where she had been out numbered.
''treefoot she has to be okay!'' a tom-cat's voice snapped, and it was clearly brackenpaw because he never really gotten along with the med-cat.
''if you and silverflame weren't patrolling without any other warriors with you that night maybe she would be awake by now'' treefoot said sternly and calmly, yet dissapointed.
the apprentice looked at the ground gritting his teeth, trying to not to disrespect the higher ranked clancat any further.
brackenpaw even looked all beat up, scar's and wound's all over his pelt.
it was as if she hit a sensitive nerve when she had said that.
'the way you speak is like you have a crush on your mentor' that one sentence echoed through his head, causing his claw's to scratch the ground in anger.
''bite your tongue ravenclaw....!!'' he half growled.
he stormed out of the camp and climbed up a tree, burring his muzzled into his paw's tear's streaming.
''silverflame... i'm so sorry.....'' he whispered quietly.
brackenpaw looked up to starclan and sent his prayer to them, hoping it might help her.
Ravenclaw, still awake in the moonlight, watched as Brackenpaw moped over his mentor. She kept quiet. Brackenpaw didn't know she was awake, but she'd probably ruin the moment, and she didn't blame the apprentice for having heart-full emotions about his mentor. That simply meant they had a good bond, or possibly more. What was wrong with that? Ravenclaw's eyes glittered. She always loved to see a strong bond. She turned to the nest in the corner, to see a pale silvery-gray clump of fur, breathing calmly. Up and down, up and down... Oh how Ravenclaw loved to see Lilacpaw asleep, not able to talk... Brackenpaw's paws shuffled, and what he said to the sleeping mentor caught Ravenclaw's attention.
"Y'know, Silverflame... I'll only say this to you when you're asleep. Maybe Ravenclaw's right. Maybe I do like you in a different way. Just maybe, Silverflame, maybe. But what I do know for sure is that you need to get better. I can't do without ya, Silverflame. I love you as a mentor. I couldn't bare to be taught by someone other than you." He meowed softly, pressing his nose to her ear in a friendly way. "You have to get better. You have to." He croaked, and stumbled out the medicine den, into the pale moonlight.
That touched me. I didn't know Brackenpaw could speak with so much heart. The warrior cooed, staring off into the majestic, watery somewhat blue sky. It was sprinkled in luminous flecks of all sizes, and she was glad the medicine den faced this way. The way of the sun, the way of the pearly, claw-like moon. She was recovering, and Silverflame could at least open her eyes now. "Silverflame. I know you can hear me. Get better. That's an order, Silverflame. I can't live without you either," Ravenclaw whispered in a soft, ton that the dark-gray warrior could hear. She shrunk her head, resting her chin on her paws and tried to dose off to sleep.
a faint chuckled came from silverflame.
''i don't die easily blaze.... you know that......'' she mumbled quietly.
the she-cat stubbornly tried to at least sit up but failed to do so, flopping back onto her side wincing.
she was able to move her head at least, to look at ravenclaw with her signature grin, always when it come's to her being wounded she would always grin like it was nothing.
''i just still can't believe half of my ear was torn off...'' silverflame grumbled.
