The City of the Dead
Forum-Index → Roleplay → The City of the DeadHe knew that it's not over and that soon these feelings are going to return but for now he is just happy to have a break.
When was the last time he was around soo many people? Chrismas Dinner, Probably. The awkward one where everybody was silent until his Grandfather started talking about Politics... Then it was way too noisy. Luckily, Matt and his Brother managed to sneak away and take a shelter in their room. They also managed to snatch a plate of cookies on the way- Positively one of the moments he is going to treasure forever.
"Also, We had been over this. Just Matt, Capiche? Call me Matthew one more time and you are getting renamed after a flower."
"I-I am disappointed in both of us." He managed to get out some coherent words before device broked into pieces, making a noise loud enough to startle Matt- And almost make him fall down from the chair.
Matts look was somewhat melancholic when he studied the broken pieces. He tilted his head slightly and wondered what went wrong this time. "Wow, You should really consider trying out for some Basketball Team, Clover" He said, voice unamused...
Then he felt as if his own heart came to a stop. That was unintentional. That nickname just slipped out. "Okay, but you deserved it!" His voice cracked. His brain was going through multiple possible escape scenarios while he just stared at Ten with a dorky grin- Matt just couldn't help himself. Why is his face doing that?
"I think it fits! It serves as a declaration of our friends-" He stopped and positively beamed as if a unicorn appeared in front of him "Holy Salt and Pepper Dinner, You actually did it! You called me Matt!" There was a disbelief in his voice- He was also loud and said it with too much enthusiasm to be considered appropriate. "Greg, Felix! Get the Camera! This moment has to be marked in History!"
Was he overreacting? Probably. That doesn't matter... Where are Hiraeth and Lee? What would they think about this? What would they think about Ten just casually chatting with humans? Was this normal for him? Yesterday they made it seem like Ten was somebody cold, too distant, maybe even dangerous. Matt couldn't find eighter of those things.
"That's dandy, no camera needed. I am going to have this moment stored - Good morning, it is. - in my brain!"
With a single motion of the arm, he swept broken pieces of the device into the palm of his hand and put them back into his pocket. His body moved on its own, he really didn't think about it much. "Ten failed at his own gam- Wait, Does that mean i have to stop calling him Clover?! I just started, you cant take this power away from me soo soon!"
Matt felt his stomach grumble in annoyance and he sighted- Basic Human Needs. How could he forget? "There is nothing wrong with Morning Coffe but listen to me, Peeps- You all need some actual food." Matthew got up from the chair. With hands on his hips, he studied the cabinets in Kitchen as if he could see right through them "You wouldn't mind me stealing some ingredients, Right? And Felix, Get your existence over here! I need a Right-Hand Man!" His voice took on a commanding tone- Through there was pure silliness behind it. "Would everybody be okay with Good Old Fashioned Pan-" His eyes widened in realization and seemed to deflate "Wait- Can you two eat things that are not Human-Flavored? I don't want to poison you or something..." He said, his gaze flickering between Tenebris and Lee.
"Speak of warning you... I can't eat regular food. Don't bother making anything for me." He says, picking his pencil up so he can tap it against the table repeatedly, as if thinking.
Instead, he opened one of the cabinets- Plates. Close enough but not quite. He closed it with a judging look and moved to another one. "Well, I can try adding some insects to the batter if you got a couple of them lying around... That could technically work!"
Matt managed to find a Bowl and a Spatula- Bingo. He set them down on a counter, next to a stove.
He looked at Felix and raised an Eyebrow, Did Matt yelled or someth- Wait, He actually did. He will have to apologize later.
"Could you get me some stuff from the Fridge? Milk, Baking Powder -Wait, That one probably isn't in the fridge, scratch that- Butter and two or three eggs. Anything resembling fruit or syrup would also be nice! And your Boyfriend can grate some lemons. That crust ties everything together." He hummed not so innocently, turning his attention back to the cabinets. It didn't took too long to find everything he needed. He seemed proud of himself, lips quirking in an unintentional smile, as he looked at all the dishes.
Swiftly opening the door, he grabbed milk, eggs and butter before closing it again, coming back to Matt to hand him the ingredients.
"At least Felix isn't leaving me hanging, Thank you kindly." Matt smiled at Felix. That smile told volumes- He isn't blind. He knows something is clearly happening but he is alright with it. What happened this morning just... surprised him. He just hopes they don't think that he is homophobic or something. He wouldn't blame them- He stormed out of the room after all- but that would be like putting a piece of lego under his foot.
He took the ingredients and carefully set them down, scanning everything and making sure he has everything- Except the crust. For obvious reasons. "I can work this! I should have a tower or two ready in 10 minutes. Also, You don't all need to just awkwardly sit there while i practice my cosmic rituals, You know?" He wasn't kicking them out- Just letting them know that they are free to leave if they want to.
"Also, my mom always added just a little bit of seltzer water to the dough, that made the pancakes fluffy".
When he heard Greg's question, he looked at him and shrugged. "I don't know. Ten?"
The blond boy looked at Tenebris, handing the question over at him.
