The City of the Dead
Forum-Index → Roleplay → The City of the DeadInstead, he let out a well-hearted giggle and pointed at Greg "Finally somebody gets it! I can't even properly pronounce it and i would say that my English is at least acceptable! Through Tenebris is certainly easier than Hyr- Hiree-....." His face went blank for a second, replaying the word in his head over and over... It didn't work. "You know."
Then Tens words finally reached his brain and his eyes instantly filled with Child-Like curiosity "Wa-Wait a minute, It's only a title? You... Don't have a name or did I got something wrong?"
For such a rude guy,he enjoyed making comments like this, and if he is in a good mood he seems really nice
Greg can only be described as weird at this point

At first, Tens wording puzzled Matthew- Warning, Brand... Those words seemed too cruel... And then there was a recognizable sorrow in Matts brown eyes. Something wasn't right- Tens presence returned to its normal form, not that casual and comfortable that was there just a few moments ago. And the Domestic Feeling of the house disappeared with it.
He should not have brought up that subject. There was soo many other questions on his mind but he is not going to repeat the same mistake. Enough interrogation.
For the first time that day, Matt didn't have anything to say. And he hated himself for it- Things were just getting better. Why did it have to happen now? Why did his brain have the worst timing in the World?
He forced himself to smile, not daring to drag last bits of happiness in this room down with him.
(Now i understand that it may look OOC to just have Matt pull the switch like that but i assure you that i have a logical explanation for it- One that is most likely going to be talked about later so no spoilers for now.)
"Speaking of annoying questions,I know you said I need patience but it would be optimal if you told us how we will do it,you see with out vague knowledge we don't hold a chance and if you tells what to do last minute, that won't work, but if you do it early on,you save time later"
He said with a serious voice, unlike his usually playful responses or the intense yelling,it was a nice change of pace, probably won't last long either.

Matt got up from his chair, no longer being able to sit in one place. He needed to do something -Anything- just to make that familiar feeling in his stomach disappear. He would bear with it any other day but not now. He could try to walk it out... Wait, That would be weird right? He cant just walk circles here!
When did it even came from? Was it there in the background for the whole time and he just didn't notice? That's certainly possible.
He let out a flustrated sight and swung his backpack on the floor - A little too harshly- and pulled out his small sketchbook. It was stylized to resemble a slice of melon but it was covered in stickers of Cartoonish Animals and Smiley Faces. Then he returned to his chair as nothing happened.
"Random Inspiration is the best inspiration." He announced "Also- Greg is right, Ten out of Ten, Well said. Keep up the great work and you will get a promotion, Man. Are Hyacinth and Lee going to teach us the basics or are you going to make a spot on your schedule?" Matt said, looking up at Ten.
"Actually quite smart"he said "you are right, heck I am pretty sure a drunk 40 year old alcoholic ain't nothing compared to the experience needed to fight a monster, but sense they are no leads" he said grabbing a chair that just so happens to be conveniently close and sits down
"Tell me about the weak ones,if we need experience,we need to learn how to even survive against weak ones which I assume Lee will explain,so what kinds are there"
Greg asked
Greg before becoming really insecure and anti social,he liked to chat in order to get information easily
This is what he tried right now, hoping it works

He glances at the Sketchbook, examining the small doodle that was not resting on previously blank page- A Small Jellyfish, a Cup of Coffe replacing the Hood. He certainly wasn't an Artist. The whole thing looked flat, No shading and he didn't seem too keen on coloring it.
Matthew then closed the sketchbook and stuffed it back into his bag, returning his attention back to Greg and Tenebris. "I mean- There is that thing called Social Exhaustion, You know?" His eyes now seemed to focus solely on Ten "If you want we can leave- No hard feelings, We will get it. You just need to tell us... Sometimes its just a little bit too much, Heh? Talking is nice but sometimes i would give away all my possessions for some peace and quiet" He smiled- This time, it wasn't forced.
Felix heard voices downstairs, so he decided to join in. Quietly taking the stairs one by one, on the last few, he slipped and his planned silent approach turned out to be much louder than anticipated as his feet hit the ground just a little too hard. "Verdammt", he silently cursed to himself, looking up with a slightly embarrassed blush on his cheeks. "Heeeey, mornin' everyone", he said with way too much enthusiasm to mask his awkwardness - which, sadly, failed as his blush was giving it away.
He didn't quite get what he did wrong or what was up with matts odd response
So he was honestly left in his chair with a confused and jugdgemental expression
"I ma just go up,maybe I will be able to get my trench coat now,ye bye"he said and got up walked back towards the stairs(omg it autocorrected to chairs) and then saw Felix over there and gave an odd look
"Ayy yo,do you happen to have my trench coat or is it still upstairs?"he asked the short blonde boy

He slapped himself internally. Cut it out, Felix, this ain't a TV show.
When he understood it he laughed a bit and looked at the the blonde boy
"He sweety,no I ain't a demon, I just have hyphema, you know the jokes about baby falling with their heads?,he blame the nurse"he said
Today Greg felt good,he hadn't laughed this much a while, and this was just the start of his day, finally he woke up without worrying about taxes or debt
The relief he felt
