Agathe turned her head towards Sasha's face and her blush spread as
the realization hit her that her smile had been seen. "Y-yes, sorry
if I kept you stuck here..." She chuckled as she started to sit up.
"Oh! No, don't be sorry. I think we both decided we made great body
pillows. I was certainly comfortable. I just didn't want to wake
you up. Sleep well?" Sasha asked, unwrapping her tail from around
Agathe.
Agathe giggled and nodded. "I was very comfortable as well, and
yeah... For once, I actually slept very well." She smiled up at
Sasha, but was inwardly a little sad for the loss of contact. "How
about you?" She asked as she started to stand up.
Sasha was glad she hadn't thrashed in her sleep and woken Agathe.
"I...it started off wonderful. We actually were going on an
adventure, but then it changed. I think my head was trying to
process yesterday and it threw up a lot of scary images. Some from
my past and some imagined for the future...one day I am going to
have a daughter...and I highly doubt her father and I will see eye
to eye," Sasha admitted, leaving out the part where she was
starting to crush on the woman beside her. They couldn't procreate.
And the curse would make sure Sasha had a daughter to carry it on.
Goosbumps exploded over her skin and she hugged herself, glad that
Agathe couldn't see the pain she knew she was showing. She kept it
from her voice, but she couldn't hide it in her eyes. Taking a deep
breath, she put on a smile, faking it until she made it. "Okay,
enough sad. Let's go make breakfast!"
Agathe could hear the rubbing of Sasha's hands on her arms, and the
topic clued her in to realize that Sasha really was either very
scared or very uncomfortable. She moved forwards and hugged the
woman. "The sad in our lives is very important... For without the
sad, we would never know happiness. I only hope that together we
can make ourselves our own happiness." Agathe let go as a loud caw
could be heard echoing in the halls. "That's Shaye, he didn't want
to wake us up, but he did find a berry bush that we could get some
fruit from." She smiled up at Sasha. "As you said, enough sad."
Sasha hugged her tightly, taking comfort in the closeness. "Aww, he
is so sweet thank you, Shaye. And good morning," she called up to
him. "Fruit breakfast sounds good. We can sprinkle it over some
some oatmeal."
"She says thank you!" Agathe called out happy in the hug. "Oatmeal?
I think I've had that once before... Though it wasn't very good..."
She held on, deciding to let Sasha let go first.
"I think you'll like this stuff. I put sugar in it. And the fruit
definitely helps with it too. Or we can have eggs as well," Sasha
offered, getting up and stretching.
"I think just the oatmeal and fruit would be good for me. Unless
you wanted to make eggs for yourself, then don't let me stop you."
Agathe chuckled slightly as she moved her head around trying to
locate where the entrance to the tent was by the change in sound.
"We can have eggs tomorrow if that works. Or tonight. Should we get
it started then we can snag some fruit from the bush?" Sasha asked,
makijg her way to the entrance. She looked for Shaye, smiling when
she spotted him.
Shaye chittered as he moved to a pillar that was closer to where
Sasha was. "That sounds good to me, and I think we both rested
pretty well, thank you Shaye. How did you rest?" The bird chirped
his reply. "That's good to hear, and I think we'll be setting up
some oatmeal before going out for the fruit."
Sasha smiled, watching the two talk as she lead the way back to the
kitchen. "Shaye, have you eaten? There are the gifts from last
night I could gut if you would be interested in that. Or we could
grab something while we are getting the berries."
Agathe repeated the question and Shaye chirped and flew into the
kitchen and onto the back of a chair. "He said that he hasn't eaten
yet, and would appreciate the food so he can go with us when we get
the berries." She followed the wingbeats of the bird and entered
the kitchen without walking into anything.
Sasha moved to start boiling water for the oatmeal. Then she moved
to get Shaye some food. "That sounds like a good idea. We don't
have a guard dog. We have a majestic guardian Shaye! And he is
amazing," she told Agathe, snagging the oats off of a shelf to add
them to the water.
Agathe repeated as she succeeded in not laughing, and Shaye replied
with a series of chirps and clicks. "He thanks you, and I agree
with her on that point Shaye." She smiled as she took a seat at the
table. She chuckled as Shaye puffed out his feathers and chirped a
reply. "He says that you are quite magnificent with your scales,"
She neglected to say how he had complimented her.
Sasha blushed. The statement was Shaye's but it came from Agathe's
lips. "Thank you. I try...they could probably use some buffing..."
She ducked her head as she finished getting things ready.
"She says thank you." Shaye chirped once more and Agathe smiled
slightly getting a boost of courage. "And I want to add that I
think your facial structure is very beautiful. I can't comment on
your physical beauty other than what I've seen, but your
personality is just as beautiful as your structure." Shaye could
obviously see cues in how Agathe had been treating Sasha, and he
had given her a little encouragement.
The woman was shocked speechless as she stirred the pot of their
breakfast. "I-I...thank you. Agathe...you are...I...words fail to
describe you. And how I feel. You are amazing! Truly wonderful! I
want to keep you," Sasha said, blushing hard as she realized how
that sounded. "Here. As in keep you here so that we can take care
of each other and live in peace...I am digging a bigger hole of
weird, aren't I? I want you to stay but not against your will."
Agathe was blushing, but she didn't know that it showed. She
chuckled and smiled. "I knew what you meant, and I don't think you
dug a weird hole. No weirder than what I said." She took a moment
to figure out what she wanted to say. "Sasha, I would rather not
leave you or this place. I like it here, and I like you." She shook
her head blushing harder. "N-not, well, you know what I mean..."
She'd never really liked someone, so she really didn't know how she
was feeling, but she knew it was different.
"Yeah? I haven't liked anyone in real life like that. Nnothing but
family live here. I don't think my mom ever found love. Just that
of family. Sometimes, that is stronger then anything found
romantically. I am glad you want to stay. We'll get things set up
for thw two of us today. And our feathered friends too," Sasha
shrugged. "Ready to go get some fruit?"
