Ok, I'm sorry, but I'm just gonna say something that's bothering me and a lot of other members.

I'm getting quite annoyed by users not giving any criticism on user's art. The purpose of this thread is not to dump art and go, it was a place for all users to learn. It could even be as simple as "i like your lineart!" or as complex as "maybe you should try __________", etc. And sure, maybe you have an excuse such as "phone/tablet/laptop is about to die" but could you at least try to drop a "i'll edit in criticism later!!"
If you don't even give a reason to not give criticism then I suggest you give it. Again, the purpose of this thread is to learn and teach other members, along with providing support. And honestly? I see a lot of the "I cant give criticism bc busy" people online for a while after.

So please, support your fellow members with constructive criticism or motivational things.

Compliments work too

I try to critique/compliment at least 3 people with each of my posts, and some of them happen at 12 am, but I still take the time to look at and comment on other's art. The amount of critiques I've given have lessened because I've noticed some users that I critiqued never critiqued back.
edit: and I'm mainly talking about myself critiquing them multiple times.

i usually just leave comments on stuff that's on the latest page along with a piece of art, but sometimes art leaves me exhausted/i finish art at like three am on a school night so i opt out. (which happens more often than i should because i. im not healthy lol)

i mean i'm pretty sure that comments aren't a stipulation for joining the group but mostly just encouraged.

Does anyone else have, as I like to call it, "Layer-It-All Syndrome"?

I know most of you make a stickman and then draw the actual character over it, but I don't do that. First I make a layer for the head, then for the eye, then for the rest of the body. At the end, I put them all together and mesh it.

• While i do agree that some people only come here and dump their art without commenting on any other users work, there are also people who do give comments, but simply ignore some people.
While i can only assume their reasons, it kind of makes me sad. I mean...i don't know. I know this club is supposted to be a support for every artist.
So i just wanted to say... If you don't like someone here, or don't know this person, maybe...just maybe...think about it and give them a small comment too? They would really appreciate it. We shouldn't take personal grudges to this club too and ignore people when they may could get help and support for their art. <3 Thats just one of the reasons why many didn't came here again, i guess.

bluezorua ; Nicely done on the splice for duskull/Zorua! Maybe try uploading your sprites so they're transparent in the future :) that'll get rid of the white backgrounds and make all your sprites much more appealing

Maggy is coming along super great though!! maybe for the next time you do a human drawing, check around google to see if theres some human body poses you could work off of to get the anatomy a little more accurate :D (I feel like her right arm is juuuust a little longer than her left)

What a gorgeous little zombie Cubone ♥ I think the only thing I notice is his left shoulder seems a little up than normal, but he's gotta hold his bone somehow haha xp

-kookie- ; super cute! You did really well on the background, too! Only thing I see popping up is the girl on the left, her bottom foot (closest to the tail) the little fluff at the end of the slipper seems to be a little off :o (could just be my eyes though lol)

-Shadow-The-Zoroark- ; nicely done! Maybe next time try to make the shading a little darker? (and a little less fuzzy ((is that even the word??)) so you can make the shading a little more darker so it pops out more!

Rhoo ; I wanted to bid on that nimbei SO bad but had nothing to offer for it lmao, what a gorgeous design, your new art style you tried out on Larvitar is super cute though! the shading is really nicely done as well (same with colour) so idk where you're getting that idea from :p (I think the only thing catching my eye is larvi's leggos :o they just seem to pop out a little more than the anatomy should allow them to aha)
@lineart, it looks good, too! the lines are really smooth, I don't really have anything else much to say about it expect for the shading (which it's looking great on it too, just a little something I noticed that pops out lol so i'll just leave it there unless A2 wanted some more info on that, too :) )

Corvo ; Your adoptable looks like it's coming along great! Maybe try to bring the hoof/leg back a little bit on the right side? it seems to come much more forward than the other so it's looking a little longer in general :O Maybe take a look online as well at some other four armed beasts and such, to have a general idea/something you can work off of to make your second set of arms appear more attached to the body?

Alright, now moving forward, I don't know if I'm entirely correct in saying this considering I've literally just became active in this thread like.. a week ago, from all the months it's already been up, but yeah, Toma does have a point in what's been going on, with the comments, I do see a few going back who've just dropped an image and not said anything. Although, I do see where you guys are coming from as well, if you've just finished your art piece and are exhausted from it, it happens to me all the time, and I just kinda.. don't want to talk with anyone or say anything for a few hours after drawing lol.
Perhaps going forward, please make it in your best effort to post /something/ (also taking into consideration time though) so if you find yourself not being able to post any comments after posting a drawing, please just state in your post that you will come back to your post and edit it with suggestions/criticism/compliments/whatnot before making a new post with a newer drawing you have going on?
it wouldn't be fair saying I'm not part of the problem either, considering I signed on with Furret for this, and haven't even bothered with the group until recently, so for that, I apologize, I will do my utmost best to stay an active part of the group going forward to address any further problems anyone sees going on (and please do message me if you see it, because as Argentis always tells me, I'm a grandma and forget a lot / won't see it :') )

In regards to Rhoo adding on about posts being skipped, I would certainly hope it isn't because A doesn't like B or something like that, but we are all human, it's bound to happen. If you truly don't want to comment on someones art because you don't like them, try to see it as just commenting a strangers art instead, forget A is associated with that image, so that A can get the comments they deserve, because, we all need a little criticism/comments in our lives ♥
If you still believe you shouldn't comment on someones art because of your relation with said user, please let me know, I'll keep everything anonymous, and will never judge, I'll just have to find a way to make sure everyones included without making someone feel left out.

if you feel you can't give criticism/something that should be improved on, by all means, compliments are much loved as well! Don't be afraid to give your thoughts on a drawing though just because there might be a skill difference between two people though, if you truly feel something is up with a drawing/pose/shading, etc, it probably is there but others just won't see it!
