A Dangerous Rebellion
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Private RP → A Dangerous RebellionOctavius passed through the entrance, unsure but excited. Hope was coursing through him. Maybe...maybe this time he would get to stay and be happy.
On the other side of the gateway was a huge garden filled with hundreds of flowers. "What do you think?" Jason asked as he stepped up next to Octavius.
Octavius stared a moment, his jaw dropped slightly as he took everything in. Then he moved forward, reaching out but not quite touching any of the petals. He was lost in thought, transported back to happier memories as he walked. "...I-It's...it is the best sight I have seen in a long, long time...other then your smile," he added shyly.
Jason stepped up with him and stooped to smell the flowers, and before he realized it, a blush had latched onto his face and wasn't going to go away for a while. "My smile? My smile couldn't have been the best sight," He seemed a bit less confident now that there was no audience. Now that they were on their own.
"I didn't think a smile could be like that either. But...when I saw it? It was...like missing a step. I felt off kilter for a moment. I don't know why..." Octavius said, his gaze turning towards Jason. He was confused by a lot of things this man said and did. But he liked them too. He felt safe. "...can...may I ask a question?" he asked, slipping into safer habits of being an obedient slave. The questions he wanted to ask, he would never have dared to ask before and some small part of him still was conditioned to expect a beating for anything less then utter obedience.
Jason was thankful that this area wasn't lit at all, and the moonlight kept the blush from being obvious. "You don't have to ask if you can ask a question," He chuckled hoping to clear any unease from his voice with that. Why was he getting so flustered all of a sudden?
Octavius took a deep breath before asking, "You don't hurt slaves do you? You rule with kindness and trust. I have never seen this. Didn't think it was possible. If...if I ever was in the reversed roles, I would like to be like you. Kind and carefree." He had returned to his normal speech patterns, watching Jason with awe. Max was right. Jason was a very kind soul.
Jason was a bit taken aback by the question, but he calmed as he heard what followed. "I would never hurt another person unless I had just cause. You, are less like a slave and more like a friend. In all honesty I'd like you to be carefree now. I want you to enjoy your time with me because then I'll enjoy my time with you. It sounds a bit self centered, but it's sort of how human beings work in a way..."
Octavius blinked. Self centered,? He hadn't thought that. "When you say it, I think it sounds more like part of your happiness is caring for those around you. If they are upset, you worry. I think you would try to help make them feel better. Not like some dictator telling everyone they must smile and they must be happy. You approve of emotions."
Jason smiled and nodded. "I think you just pegged me on that one," He chuckled. "I approve of emotions and their display whole-heartedly. We're human, we use emotion to convey meanings through expression. They're very important. Besides, asking someone to not have emotions is like telling a fish not to swim."
Octavius followed, some times leading if he saw something he wanted to go admire. He was happy. He was so very happy there with Jason.
Vera looked up from the couch to see Cassie come in. She smiled but didn't say anything yet.
"May I come here? Every once in a while if I have a free moment?" Octavius asked, distracted by a beautiful bloom.
"Absolutely." Jason walked over to look at the same on that Octavius was distracted by. "Just let me know before you go, that way I don't worry about ya."
"Of course," Octavius said, turning to look at Jason. "I wouldn't dream of anhthing else. I wouldn't want to make you upset. Or worried."
"I didn't think you would," Jason chuckled as he stooped to sniff a flower.
Octavius smiled, tilting his head back to look up at the moon.
"Octavius, what would you do or say if I said you were free?" Jason turned to look over at Octavius.
