A Dangerous Rebellion
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Private RP → A Dangerous RebellionCassie let go of Max and walked over to Octavius and put her finger in his face. "See here Octavius, there was nothing you could do. Even if you could, I would have made sure you didn't." She wasn't angry at him, and she made it clear that she wasn't mad by smiling and speaking firmly, but not angrily.
Leone watched the interactions and smiled as he didn't see slaves or masters, but instead he saw a family. "I don't know how you all got here, but I can lend you a few horses to ride back on. I'd have to come with you so I can bring them back, but, well, the offer is there."
Max smiled at the display, then turned to Leone at his offer. "You already know where we live. Are you sure you'll make it back okay? Among the five of us, I think Jay and I are the least powerful of the group. And as you saw, we know how to hold our own. I don't mind either way. But we would probably leave you at the edge of our land."
Cassie had raised her hands and chuckled as she was hugged, happily to return the embrace. "You're welcome," She half shifted and was still hugging him so his feet were pulled off the ground a bit. "And I hope that we can work together to protect our family."
Leone nodded and chuckled. "I'll be fine, I doubt I'll run into any trouble, and even if I do my horse is one of the fastest around," He bowed. "With the exception of your horse General," Almost everyone had heard of the great warhorse.
Max downright grinned at the mention of Razz. "Well, Razz is extraordinary. Not many can hope to beat him. I am just happy to make him so happy. He's got a rival to race now," he added, looking over at Cassie. "Give him a run for his money. He loves the challenge though."
"Sometimes, I swear Razz is more person then horse," Vera chimed in, shaking her head.
"Not quite so loud Octavius, that's a dangerous word and we never know how thin these walls could be." Jason commented.
"Horses can be some of the smartest animals around," Leone nodded before he turned and led them to the stables. There were four horses after Leone pulled out his personal steed, a beautiful chestnut stallion. "Pick whichever ones suit you, though one of you will have to share a saddle,"
Max smiled, having figured that would be the case. "Cassie, would you like to ride with me? You are welcome to run or to take a horse as well. But if you want to ride with me, I am happy to ride with you."
Vera stepped forward, gently patting the stallion. "He's beautiful. And well cared for," she praised before going to pick a mare from the group. "You didn't lose your kindness completely. Often when we have been hurt, it is easier to turn to animals for comfort. You have lavished kindness on them. In turn, I believe they have helped you as well."
Jason smiled and nodded as he walked over to the stall. "I would love it if you'd ride with me," He said happily.
"I think I'll ride with you, I don't want to spook the horses." Cassie commented as she tucked herself closer to Max's side. The two horses left were a pure black stallion, and a slightly smaller pinto mare. "Why don't you two take Aramis then? He's the black fella there," Leone commented.
"I'd be happy to," Max said, kissing Cassie's cheek. "Can I help you up?" He asked, leading the black stallion out. "Hello, Aramis."
Jason gently patted Goliath's shoulder before helping Octavius up and into the saddle. Then he hopped up carefully behind him.
"If you'd like to," Cassie smiled as she gently stroked the horse, wondering if any of them could smell what she is.
"Thank you," Octavius murmured, kissing Jay's cheek.
Max lifted Cassie up with ease, placing her on the horses back. "Happy to," he said before mounting the horse behind her. "We all set?" He asked. "Thank you, Leone. For lending us your horses."
"You're welcome," Jason whispered, and kissed him back. "All set,"
Cassie took Max's hands and guided them to the reigns, so he could drive if he wanted to. "All set," Cassie giggled softly.
"Alright," Jason hopped down and offered Octavius a hand. "Thank you Goliath."
Cassie didn't want to knock Max off, so she waited for him to hop down.
Max dismounted before offering Cassie his hand, being gentlemanly, not dominating. "Thank you."
Vera had dismounted and handed the mare off to Leone.
Cassie accepted his hand and climbed down carefully. She patted the horse again and thanked Leone as well.
"As I said, it's my pleasure," Leone gathered up the reigns and climbed back into his saddle. "I hope that I can make up for at least some of the pain I caused." With that he turned and led the horses away.
Octavius grinned, tuening to catch Jason's cheeks in his hands and kiss him properly. "I was afraid...that you wouldn't find out until later. I would have come back. You are my master. You hold the keys to my heart," he whispered.
Max watched Leona go, his arms wrapped around Cassie. "...I understand why he did it...but I still want to punch him for hurting you. I still want to snap at him...I am trying, so very hard, to do the right thing...thank you, for not letting him hunt. Giving him food from hunts is different, less intimate."
"I wouldn't want to endanger anyone if he was to set up traps, and I don't want to get caught in them either. I want to make sure that I know where he is. I don't want him near where I live..." Cassie hugged him and hid her face in his chest. "He and I both lost our families, so I can understand his pain... Though I still intend to rip apart those responsible for doing that to me and my tribe..."
Max nodded. "I don't want him near the cabin either. And I intend to help you with that quest. He shows remorse. Even if it comes late...he should keep it. I am still furious with him...he..." Growling softly, he squeezed her tightly. The memory of her cut off ear making him shake.
Cassie half shifted and held Max firmly in her soft and warm arms. "He did nothing that didn't get fixed. I have forgiven him, but I haven't forgotten, and I won't soon forget. He has started to make amends, and for that I will direct my anger at those truly deserving of it." She looked down to him in her embrace and smiled slightly.
Max nodded. "Starting to forgive him. I don't hate him for sure. I am...unhappy with his actions but the man himself...I can forgive him. I do what I do to try to protect people. On both sides." He kept on hugging her, loving the feel of her in his arms.
