Elvira stopped as she heard a gunshot. Her head swiveled around trying to locate the sound, and once she found the general direction she took off running again. "Here we go," She said aloud making sure Pixie was with her.

Pixie nodded, a heavy sigh going with it. "Looks like it," she said, taking off with Spark. She flew as fast as she needed to as well. "Sounded close. Probably only two or so streets up."

Elvira slowed and stopped just above a parking lot. As she peered down she could see two men, one of them holding a pistol and aiming it at the other man laying on the ground obviously bleeding and in pain. Elvira made a light across the street flicker to draw the gun holder's attention away while she slid down the nearby ladder at the corner of the building. She raised her hands and took a step into the lit portion of the lot. "Sir, put down the gun, I'm here to help, put down the gun." She was drawing his attention so that Pixie could either do something, or the man isn't a criminal and will follow her instruction.

Pixie landed to check on the man laying on the ground. Her hands tentively felt his shoulder where the blood was pooling. Finding the wound, she put pressure on it. "What happened here?"

The man shakily turned the gun towards Spark. "Wh-who are you? P-please, he came at me, wanted my wallet and watch..." "I understand, now, please put the gun down," He heard the second voice and turned the gun towards Pixie. Elvira took her opportunity and charged forwards and tackled the man, small arcs of electricity coming off of her as she used a low voltage to keep him from firing the gun, but not killing him. Thankfully he dropped the gun, so she didn't get her fingerprints on it. She stood up and moved over to Pixie and the man who was just barely conscious. "That one needs both the police and an ambulaAAH!" She was cut off as she was stabbed in the back pulled up from a third guy who was hiding behind a dumpster. "Get your hands off my partn-" He was cut off as he was electrocuted. His body fell to the ground a few trails of steam rose from his limp form. "Pixie, I need you to tell me where the nearest hospital is..." She grit her teeth, a plan already forming in her mind.

Pixie didn't have time to react or check the man. Hurriedly, she blurted out the directions, praying for an ambulance to get there soon. "Someone has to have called. Stay here and they'll be here soon, Spark," she cried out reaching for her with a free hand.

The phone in the injured man's pocket turned on and made a dialing sound. "You need to tell them where you are and what happened... I'll be fine," Without waiting for an answer she turned and awkwardly jogged off in the direction of the hospital that Pixie had told her to go to. After a minute and a few turns her pace slackened and she removed her sweatshirt with a little difficulty, having to stop completely to get it off her head. She started moving again and tossed it into an open dumpster as she passed by. She was starting to feel lightheaded, was she even on the right street? She got out her own phone and dialed 911, and managed to light up the street lamp enough to read the street sign to the operator. She sat with her back against it as she was instructed to keep talking to the operator as the ambulance was sent out. She pulled her bandanna off and shoved it into her backpack.

Pixie shook her head, wanting to desperately go after Spark, whoever they were and help them. But the men before her needed attention as well. Giving herself more arms, Roxy held each of the men in place with a hand around the wrist while she called 911 and told them what was going on. She wasn't going to leave until the man she assumed was passed out and the gunshot victim were put into an ambulance. Then she shot into the air and took off for the hospital she'd sent Spark to. But no one matching their description or with those wounds had come into the place. Maybe...maybe they'd come someplace else. Roxy wasn't sure what else to do at this point. But going home sounded good. Changing quickly, she grabbed her stuff and entered her room. It wasn't long before she was getting a call from a hospital about Elvira being hurt. Her gut wrenched and Roxy felt like she'd failed on an epic level. Her roommate, her friend, was hurt? Stabbed on her way home from class? And where had Roxy, in all her super powered whatever been? Not looking out for her, that was for sure. Scrubbing her hands, Roxy shifted herself into different clothing before grabbing a bag in her hast to get out the door and to Elvira. She prayed it had everything she'd need.

Elvira was going in and out of coherence, but she did know when she was taken by the ambulance. From then on most of it was a blur of reality and memories. "Freak! Freak!" She had a pounding headache, and the bright lights going by above her didn't help. "Let's get her onto the table," She groaned as her body was moved, but she didn't have the mind to resist. The pain, that was all that was in her mind. Whenever she'd get caught using her powers, no matter how trivial, charging a phone, stopping an accident, or even fighting back against a bully. She was always cursed and thrown away like some unwanted mutt. "It can't stay here! What do we do with it? We can't kill it, that'd be murder!" She felt a slight pinch in her arm and the pain began to fade, everything was fading... "The anesthetic is taking effect... We need to flip her over and clean this wound..." Elvira opened her eyes slowly and found herself laying in a hospital bed, her wrist plugged with an IV and her finger gently held in a monitor that quietly beeped every now and then. She yawned as a nurse came in to let her know that Roxanne, her roommate, had been alerted and told her everything that had happened. Once the nurse left, after checking her vitals, Elvira sighed, the pain meds were making her just this side of drowsy.

Roxy waited out in the waiting room until they let her in. As soon as she was allowed into the room, the blonde made her way in, sitting on the edge of her chair. To keep from fiddling outwardly and bothering people, she shifted inner organs. She focused inside, keeping herself calm as she tried to send soothing, relaxing pheromones out. She hated how small the hospital bed made Elvira look. She hated the beeping machines and the smell of death! Her sense of smell she'd shrunk down to virtually nothing to keep it out. She held one of her friends hands in her own, trying to let her know she was there. "...I'm so sorry," she whispered.

Elvira turned her head and smiled as she saw Roxy, but it faltered as she heard her whisper. "Sorry? What are you sorry about?" Her voice was deep and gravely, the voice of someone just waking up. "None of this is your fault, I should've kept my nose in my own business..." She sighed, and anticipating the question of 'what happened?' she explained. "As I was coming home I saw a scuffle and tried to help, and I did, the intended victim got away, but I got stabbed..." She gently closed her hand around Roxy's. "I'll be fine though, I've never had an injury a doctor couldn't heal, and I've had plenty." Her smile returned as she blinked lazily.

"I...I just...I wish I had been there to help," Roxy told her, reaching up to brush one hand to her eyes. "You're sure you're alright? Do you want me to get you anything? Are you hungry?" She asked, hoping for normalcy. She wasn't all too surprised Elvira jumped in to save someone else.

"I am a little hungry, it's about breakfast time anyways, isn't it?" Elvira glanced over to the clock on the wall and found it was a little after 6 in the morning. "I have a twenty in the front zipper pouch of my backpack, grab something decent from the cafeteria for the both of us, I've never liked the stuff the nurses bring in," She then stuck her tongue out and made a funny face, trying to cheer Roxy up, it really wasn't her fault, and El felt badly that she was feeling guilty about it.

Roxy shook her head. "I am not taking your money for this. I got next meal, remember? And I certainly am not taking your money now for it. What would you like to eat? Anything in particular?" She asked, standing with her purse and making sure she had her wallet. Chuckling at the face El made, Roxy squeezed her hand.

Elvira sighed remembering their deal. "I remember, and nothing in particular, though I don't really care for jello, it's just weird and gross." She chuckled gently squeezing Roxy's hand in return. She didn't plan to get hurt again, but perhaps she should say at some point that she's accident prone. That might make a few things a little easier to explain.

"No jello. Perhaps pancakes. I am sure it's fake eggs and not the rewrewal deal. I am not a big fan of the bulk egg stuff. Muffins, OJ, and some fruit if they have it sound good?" Roxy asked, smiling at Elvira's reaction.

"Oh that sounds perfect," Elvira smiled broadly and licked her lips comically. "Definitely the OJ and fruit, I could use the vitamins." She planned to be out of the bed and walking around by at the latest after lunch. She might not go on patrol tonight, but she did need to get to class.

"What kind of vitamins? I can swing by the pharmacy too and get over the counter kinds if you'd like," Roxy offered. She fully intended to catch whoever did this to her friend and bring them in if they hadn't been already. But for now, she was going to look after Elvira. Not baby her or anything like that. But be helpful and thoughtful.

"Oh no, just the normal vitamins derived from fruits and stuff." Elvira chuckled, Roxy was being so thoughtful, she probably still felt guilty. "If you really wanted to help you would have gotten the food already," She winked wanting to make her brighten up a little. It wasn't her fault in any way, why was she feeling so guilty about it? If anything she likely would have gotten stabbed too if she'd been there.

Roxy stuck her tongue out in playful banter before saying, "Alright, I'm going. Be back soon!" With that, she hurried out of the room and to the cafeteria. Snagging the items she'd told Elvira she would grab, Roxy stacked them on the tray she had and paid for them before heading back to El's room. Careful to make sure she didn't spill anything, she set Elvira's stuff on the tray the nurse had given her. "Did they say when you'd be getting out?" She asked, unwrapping a blueberry muffin.
