"Mmm that does sounds tasty," Elvira nodded and cast a quick glance up to the sky as a few pigeons flew overhead, could that be Pixie? "Would we want to get any meats to put on the croissants?" She heard a whistle, but thought nothing of it until she heard it again louder from across the street. When she looked over there were a couple of guys leaning against the wall dressed like the punks they were. They made a few motions gesturing them to go over, and with the next whistle she stopped, her eyes fixated on them. "Before we get breakfast, could we indulge me for just a moment and go see what they want?" She clenched her jaw as she heard a hushed comment about the sexuality of the both of them, but it was covered up by the other calling out to them. "Hey come on over sweet stuff!" She could never abide catcalling, and since she was one of the victims this time, she wanted to do something.

Roxanne eyed the men, feeling the need to put them in their place as well. "I wouldn't say it's an indulgence. I've got a thing or two I'd like to tell them. Clearly they don't know how to respect woman. I'd venture to say they don't respect anyone but we're gfetting ahead on that one," she said softly before following El over. She wasn't going to drop El's arm unless she wanted to or she had to drop it to deck them. If these men wantes to play, they'd quickly find out they had come barking up the wrong tree. She didn't play around with this stuff. Too many of these people got the idea that no didn't mean no and Roxy couldn't stand and wouldn't put up with that stuff.

One guy snickered to the other and they said in unison. "Ay yo ma, lemme get yo number," Elvira put on her nicest smile and gave one of them a once over, her bottom lip being lightly bit between her teeth. "Can I see your phone?" She held her hand out to the man and he willingly put his phone in her hand thinking he was going to get her number. He and his friend made a few comments, all along these lines. "Damn girlie, I wish I was those jeans right now so I could hug yo curves..." The punishment Elvira had in mind was much better than simply beating them up. She quickly scanned through contacts and set it to text his mother. All the while she was smiling at the willing victim. "Hello ma'am, this is a woman that your son asked for her number in no polite way. He's disrespecting my friend and I, and I would hope that you intended for him to behave better than this. I only hope that it can be corrected before someone with less patience comes across him." She used her powers so the text was sent almost immediately. She left the text up so he'd see it, and upon seeing it his face went white. "W-what'd you do that for b*tch?!" He dropped his phone to hit her, but Elvira was already ready and had slid her arm free and used it to grab and torque the man's arm back so he was shoved face first against the wall. "If I ever catch you doing this again, you will wish that the police had caught you." She snarled before practically throwing him down the street. Her piercing gaze then set on his friend until he ran off as well.

Roxanne was quick to jump in front of Elvira so that she could take the brunt of anything. She had no idea about the text but whatever was happening, she'd protect her friend. She watched the man run and shook her head. "I hate it when people do this sort of thing. They had better stop. What did you do to his phone? Why was he so upset over it?"

Elvira's scowl melted into a smile as she turned to Roxy. "I only hate it because society has accepted it as a norm," She offered arm again to her friend. "I texted his mother to let her know what he was doing and how he was behaving. He'll be getting an earful and probably a bit of a cold shoulder for a while." She grinned and started walking again.

"Perhaps..." Roxy said, biting her lip worriedly. "Have you done this before? What if their mother are dead or they just don't care?" She asked, remembering some of the boys and girls from her past. Those who simply didn't care or were just that cruel. "I hope you scared them off and they stop."

"I checked, there had been recent conversations with his mother, I wouldn't waste their data plan if it wasn't for good reason," Elvira said seriously, her eyebrows furrowed as she searched Roxy's features. "I think it worked for now anyways, but, a-are you okay?"

"That's good. And yeah. I'll be okay. Like you said, everyone has demons. Mine are stirring with this," Roxy shrugged, sighing. She happily slid her arm through El's as they walked.

Elvira walked beside Roxy, her eyes on the path. "If you ever need to talk anything out, I'm here," She offered after a few moments of silence.

Roxanne smiled, squeezing Elvira's hand with her free one. "Thank you. The same goes for you. Things can get hard but for now, I think we've got it under control. We've got to stick together, after all. Who will look after us if we don't?"

"Under control is one way to put it," Elvira chuckled as she patted Roxy's hand. Once they reached the bakery, El got the door and bowed her head slightly in her usual fashion, but not going over the top. The smell alone made her hungry, but the added visuals of all of the confections and other goods in the store made her hunger very obvious with a quiet growl. "So, do we want to get anything else in addition to what we discussed?"

"I think we should. Though, we can stop at the grocery store on our way back for those. For now, breakfast and then we can stock up on some things like croissants," Roxy offered. "It smells so good in here all of the time," she added, breathing in the warm, delicious scent.

Elvira nodded in agreement as she breathed deeply. She let Roxy order first before she got her croissant and then went to sit at a small table in the window. "This place is wonderful." She said with a huge grin before she started to eat.

Roxy smiled, setting down her pastry and cup of fruity tea. "I agree. This town is full of very cool places. Sadly there are some less savory things and people but overall, I love the city." Roxy said, before taking a bite.

Elvira chuckled and nodded as she looked out the window. "You're so very right Roxy," She patted her side lightly a few inches shy of where she was stabbed. "I know that fact very well, though most places have their ups and downs... Everywhere I lived did." She sighed as she went back to eating her pastry.

"I haven't lived here since I was a newborn. Supposedly, this was were my fathers lived. But I haven't heard anything of them yet. Mostly, I lived in itty bitty small towns in the south. Some were good. Others...had way too many guns and trigger happy people who'd shoot first, ask questions later, even if they were in the wrong," Roxy sighed, remembering a few instances. "Where was your favorite place to live?"

Elvira was nodding in complete understanding of what Roxy was saying. "My favorite place? Hmm, well, I didn't live there, but with one family, we went on vacation to this campground in Massachusetts... It was really nice, good spacing between the sites, and you could just barely smell the ocean through the pines." She closed her eyes as she remembered. "We swam in the ocean and that's where I learned how to body surf and not scrape my belly on the sand." She chuckled at the fond memory. "It was also where I learned that I never want to bury myself in the beach, ever." She shuddered and opened her eyes. "I was digging around and unearthed this long red worm thing with fuzzy bits down its sides... I looked it up when we got home and it turns out I was lucky to not have been bitten by it. It was a carnivorous worm that lives in the watery sand." She made a grossed out expression before laughing.

Roxy was fascinated by the animal she described but shuddered all the same. "And I though sand fleas were strange little creatures! That sounds terribly lucky! I am glad it didn't bite you! I am with you on the whole burried alive thing. Once, when I was still little, in one of the first foster homes, there were two older, teenage boys. One held me while the other dug a hole. They tossed me inside and I couldn't get out before they began to fill it," Roxy said. She didn't add the fact she'd freaked when it got to be over her head and shifted. In her terror, she'd become something terribly scary that spooked the boys. It'd been living he'll with them before the social worker assigned to her had come to collect her, disappointed. No one believed the boys so her secret was safe but it had only made the boys all the crueler to her.

Elvira's smile vanished as Roxy told her tale of being buried. She reached a hand across the table and gently placed it on Roxy's. "Whatever way you got out of it, I'm glad you did. I hope those boys got theirs." Her brilliant blue eyes gleamed, full of hidden emotions and unspoken thoughts. She blinked and shook her head, withdrawing her hand. "Anyways," She cleared her throat mentally moving on from the depressing tone. "Starting the day on a dark tone is never good, so, what was your favorite place to live?" She asked before taking another bite of her breakfast.

"Those boys got theirs. I heard they're both in jail for crimes they committed," Roxy said, looking a tad smug. She'd personally made sure of it. Minor stuff she's busted them on but she counted it as a win. "Favorite place...well, there was this town by the ocean that had cliffs. I loved watching the birds fly there. And the forest was beautiful too," Roxy sighed, smiling. "I can't remember the name. It was too long and complicated for a little be to remember. It's where my mom, the one who isn't really my mom but for all intents and purposes is, was, raised me," Roxy said. She's turned herself into a mermaid and gone underwater for hours, giving the woman heart attacks or flown so high, she couldn't see the pinpoint of her mother.it was bliss for a little homeschooled shapeshifter.
