"You don't need me," she mewed curtly. "Whiteleap can obviously
take care of all your needs." However, when she looked at Rosepetal
her ears drooped. The queen looked about ready to crumble to the
forest floor.
"Rosepetal, I killed a badger. I leaped onto it's face to keep it
from taking more of Flintstar's lives. I wasn't made deputy, I
wasn't made a mentor, for Starclan sake I wasn't even given a thank
you! If that isn't enough to impress your leader then I don't know
what else I could do! Bring back a dog for fresh kill?" She added
sarcastically.
((recap?))
Ferntail walked around camp, looking for Weaselmask. She finally
spotted him in the shade of a tree at the edge of camp. She walked
up in front of him, crouching down to his eye level. He appeared to
be on the verge of napping, but Fern had a bad joke to tell that
would refuse to be stopped. "Psst. Masky, hey." She
whispered, nudging Weaselmask's face with her paw. "I have a
joke. How do you catch a unique bird? Unique up on it!" Fern
whispered to Weaselmask before exploding into a giggling fit. "Oh!
Oh! I got another one! How do you catch a tame bird?" She
asked a bit more loudly. "The tame way, unique up on it!" Once she
had finally stopped giggling, Fern turned to WeaselMask, a silly
grin on her face. "Sorry for waking you up Masky, how's life?" She
asked, not really all that sorry for waking her clan mate up.

Snowflank padded closer to the she-cat. "You have to give Flintstar
a chance. There must have been a reason..." She looked at
Rosepetal. "Rosepetal needs you more than anything. Rosepetal
shouldn't even be out here." Snowflank sighed. "What about Ollie?
He would probably be devistated to see you gone. There are cats
that care about you, Shadedfur. Those cats need you." She pointed
to Rosepetal's swollen belly. "Those kits need you."
"That was probably the worst joke I've ever heard in my entire
life." Weaselmask almost hissed straight at his clanmate's face as
he was woken up just before falling into a slumber. "And could you
please not touch my face with your filthy little paws when I'm
sleeping?- Or wait, even better; just don't disturb me at
all. Thank you." Rolling his eyes he sat up slowly and started
grooming himself, as if just the other cat appearing before his
eyes had gotten dirt onto his long fur. "To be frank, sometimes
I wonder why do others even bother to come up and talk to me half
the time" The tom muttered in a slightly annoyed tone and
continued licking his own chest.
Fern just sat there watching WeaselMask lick his chest for a
moment. "Hey GrumpyMask, how come you never laugh at my dumb jokes.
I have never heard you laugh at a single one of my jokes. Not once
ever. I've even gotten Shades to laugh once. You are literally the
only one who hasn't laughed at any of my jokes, not even a fake
laugh." Fern said, cocking her head to the side. "Come to think of
it, I don't think I've ever actually seen you laugh before. I can't
remember the last time you actually smiled either. Maybe you did
and I just wasn't around to see it, but still. Silly weirdo." She
said with a smile. "Oh, if I catch you a sparrow or something, will
you smile for me? I promise I'll catch you a big one!" She said
enthusiastically.
"I gave her a chance to explain herself, and she told me to leave."
But as Snowflank continued the small she-cat sat down, looking down
at her paws. Her family would need her, should she really trust the
clan to properly care for her sister's kits? And Ollie.... Would
they look for his home? and if it couldn't be found who would train
him? Another outsider no doubt.
"Fine. But if I'm chased away then you have to let this go until
your kits are fit to travel. Deal?" A loud purr burst from the
queens chest and soon enough the sisters were tumbling onto the
ground with soft grunts. "Hey hey! Get off a me, you're too
heavy."
Snowflank purred. She watched the two sisters with joy. "I am
really glad you are willing to come back. Don't worry, I won't let
anyone chase you off." She said with a smile. It's nice to see
them back together. We can't let Rosepetal worry when she is so
close to kitting.
"Get off me you big lug, let's get you home." The sisters parted,
both of them having a little difficulty standing on their own paws
and leaned against each other for support. Shadedfur couldn't call
Fruitclan 'home,' but she would live there for her sister's
sake.
"Let's get going before I can't make the trip," Shadedfur grunted,
holding her hind leg up against her body.
((I feel like Shadedfur and Weaselmask will get along just fine. So
grumpy pppffft))
