	Blossom started heading towards Maddy and Gwen having over heard their shouting, as she ran toward them, Gwen stromed past Blossom and bumped into her shoulder, but kept one talking. Leaf nodded and carefully lead the way to the body in the woods. "Sage, I'm sorry." Leaf bowed her head in respect for the fallen, then the tears started falling. "Why is this happening? Cant we catch a break, just once? We've been through so much already." Her heart was aching, they had gone through enough losses and Leaf knew it was only going to get worse. The thought made a chill go down her spine and she hugged herself.

Leaf was slightly disgruntled as Tani removed Barry from his bed of flowers, but after Tani buried him she replanted the flowers around the dirt mound. However, as she went to gather a few more to finish she noted a body just slightly beyond the treeline, at first she couldn't place it, but then she did. Stumbling back she abandoned her quest for flowers and beelined for Sage. She was reasonably hesitant when she saw Sage and Maddy locked in conversation that didn't sound pleasant, but when Maddy finally addressed her, Leaf spoke in a slightly trembling voice. "Morgan's dead, her body's slightly past the tree line."

Star didn't help bury the dead, she rather kept watching o the treeline with a few others in case things went amiss again.

When Luke had cried himself out he became emotionally drained and started nodding off, Blossom hummed softly and carried Luke back to his cart where he could rest somewhat.

Leaf had gently shut Barry's eyes so aside from the wound it looked as it Barry was sleeping. But to Leaf it felt wrong to leave him like that, past harm but seemingly defenseless. Leaf felt herself boiling in her anger as she looked at Barry's small body. Leaf walked over and gathered some flowers and gently placed them around Barry and covered the wound, when she was finished she placed the last of them in Barry's hands in a bouquet. At least it looked a little better.

Star was quietly listening in. "Maddy and I have dealt with them before. Are there any Lemcha trees nearby for us to use against them? IT wont kill them, but the Matchhounds don't like them."

(I can tweak this post for Luke as needed.)

Leaf had eventually stopped working when she had tried to restart his heart, only for her attempt to only push more blood out of the wound. With a very heavy heart, she looked at Tani and shook her head then started to clean and pack up her medical supplies. When she had finished with her stuff, Leaf started to pick up Blossom's things as well. There was nothing more they could do for him.

Blossom gently pulled Luke away and sat him down as she braced herself for Luke's outburst that would be driven by denial and anger and refusal at Barry's death. "Luke. He. . .Barry didn't make it. His wounds were too great and despite Leaf's vast knowledge, it was already too late. I'm so sorry."

Faith gathered herself for a moment before looking at them, relaying the bad news and the vision she'd been given by her sisters: The invadable war, Faith's eventually face off with Talla, her surrendering to the later, what it would mean for the Solar Kingdom, and how tomorrow would possibly be the last day of peace. Reve's new orders were at this time tomorrow was to gather all of the servants and bring them all in the secret chambers until the bloodshed was over. Faith was advertently trying to avoid any innocent lives being killed, even if it meant that she became a martyr in the process.

The burden was heavy on her shoulders as she carefully went over a plan that she'd made, in hopes that fate would help them eventually. Maddy, Drake, Maeve, and Robin would take the kids and go as far away from the kingdom as possible to help them learn how to use the pieces of the Solar Diadem that they also had to find to avoid falling into the wrong hands, mainly Talla's. The pieces, as Faith explained, were scattered and she didn't even know where they now rested, were very important.

The group obviously had many, many questions and Faith seemed ready to answer them, not once did she look up from her folded hands on the table.

Akane looked down from where the Dark Lord had been and watched as the people panicked. Brit's lover was mourning over the loss of Brit's face, the grandmother and the guide were kinda just standing there with their heads lowered in what Akane could only guess to be shame, Rudy's head was lowered as well, but he was sitting. As for Rascal's worried mother, she was basically an absolute mess, there wasn't any better way to describe it.

        "Ma'am?" Akane slowly approached her. "Ma'am? Are you-"

        The woman suddenly grabbed Akane's robes and started to sob. "My poor Rascal! Please, traveler, you need to help me! Please help me get my son's face back!"

        "Ma'am, I-"

        "Please!" The mother looked up at Akane with wet eyes from the ground. "He's all I have left!"

        Akane mentally sighed, why did she have the feeling that this was going to bite her in the @$$? "I'll try, but-"

        The response was cut off by her hugging Akane to the point of choking, after a few moments she released her and put a small purple and gold pendant around Akane's neck. "It's a family heirloom, a good luck charm. I want you to have it, to protect you."

        Akane looked at it for a moment then at the mother. "Thank you, it's beautiful. I swear, I'll do everything I can to get your son's face back." With a final look at her, Akane walked out of the small village.

        It had been at least a half-hour of searching in the nearby woods when she felt the cool air prick her skin, Akane looked up as Boots, who had been hiding in her bag the entire incident of Greenhorne had happened, hissed.

        Dark Lord Nina stared down at her sister before chuckling in amusement. "Is someone trying to be the big hero?"

        Akane looked up at her sister and taking a deep breath attempted to call out to her. "Nina, please give Rascal's face back!"

        "What? This ol' thing?" Nina asked presenting the said child's face, Akane nodded. To her dismay, Nina gave her a nasty grin. "Hrrm. Maybe I'll give it back to you. . .but you'll have to earn it." Nina smirked and summoned a small yellow slime. "How good are you in a fight?"

        "Nina please!" Akane attempted to plead, "this isn't you, don't do this!" But the plea fell upon deaf ears, much to Akane's dismay, the Dark Lord fused the child's face to the monster.

        "Be seeing you, if you survive, that is!" With a laugh, the Dark Lord that wore her sister's face was gone. The golden slime monster slowly inched its way towards Akane then lunged in attack. Out of pure reflex, Akane put her hands up to defend herself and flinched away, bracing herself for impact. Instead, a wall of fire shot out and blocked the slime. At the same time, the heirloom suddenly started to glow as it removed itself from around Akane's neck and hovered in front of her, a voice suddenly spoke to her from within it.

        "Akane. . .Akane, can you hear me?"

        "Um, yeah?" Akane was half focused on the voice as she was more concerned about the slime in front of her, which had appeared to stop its aggression for the moment.

        "It does seem like you're hearing me. . .what good fortune this is! Now you may not believe this, but I'm kind of a guardian spirit-"

"I'm sorry, you're a what now?"

        "Please, just hear me out. It seems you're in a bit of trouble. Would you like my help?"

"Yes please."

        "Ho ho! Excellent, excellent! I, er, bestoweth upon thee, the awesome power of the Guardian, the gift of Devine Power!"

Akane watched as her traveler's clothes started to be covered in a fine golden dust, the dust disappeared where it landed and a simple mage's robe replaced her old garb. In her right hand, a simple wand formed from the small amount of dust that had landed in her hand that she had extended to observe the dust. When the transformation was complete, she looked herself over. Much to her relief, Boots and her bag had been left untouched despite being touched by the dust. "Would you look at that. . ."

        "Ho ho! This is exactly what you need to deal with the Dark Lord's feinds! Now fight, O Akane! Make your foes fear you!"

Leaf didn't answer Tani, her hands were flying over Barry's wound and her medical bag, her face knit in fierce concentration as she worked desperately to save his life. Barry's life force just kept expelling itself from the wound, but it was slowing. Normally this would've been good, but Leaf didn't dare get her hopes up, not with the possibility that Barry's vital organs had been ruptured.

Instead, Blossom voiced for the both of them. "Honestly Tani, I don't know. The wound's pretty deep, and judging by all this blood he's already lost, the sword busted something vital. Probably one of his organs." Something warm and wet was touching Blossom's knees, Blossom looked from Leaf and the dying boy to her knees. Barry's blood was soaking her dress at the kneecaps. Her stomach dropped, all of her years taught her that once a blood pool had reached a certain point, there was no going back. Blossom looked up at Tani, a look of anguish swam in her eyes. "It's going to take a miracle for him to make a full recovery, just to get him patched up properly is going to be a full miracle within itself."

With the sword no longer keeping the wound closed up blood started to gush and Leaf snapped into action as she tried to stop the blood flow even though she knew it was pointless. Leaf worked quickly to stop the blood flow, her brow knit in concentration in her race against time.

Blossom, who had rushed over after seeing Leaf rush to Berry's side, clutched his hand and gave him an anchor as Leaf worked on closing the wounds.

Leaf looked up at Tani's scream and to her horror saw the sword in Barry's body. Moving quickly around the fighters, she clutched her medical bag and arrived at Barry's side. As she looked over the wound she felt herself freeze, a look of uttermost dismay crossed her face. The wound was too severe, but blood attempting to force its way out through the wound was an indicator that several vital organs had been damaged, possibly to point beyond anyone's hope of repair. Removing it would just kill him faster. For the first time in a while, she realized just how powerless she and her medical skills were.

All Leaf could do was stay by his side and comfort him until he passed.

	Blossom stroked Star's head as they passed some trees that looked almost sad. "The faces do make them seem a bit more human don't they?" (in case anyone asks, Katniss is Star's daughter and I've reduced her to an NCP role. As for Emi, Blossom's adopted daughter, she won't make an appearance as she went to a different town to start her own life path.) [Read more]

Leaf, Blossom, and Star had only decided to pack whatever they could carry, given that they would eventually return at some point. Or at least that's what they had hoped for. Star had a small kit for on-the-go sword fixing, Blossom and Leaf had their medical bags filled to nearly the point of busting with medical herbs and products. Leaf, however, had one more thing, a scrapbook of herbs not just for medical purposes, but also for edible plants as well. The book was heavily detailed on the smallest detail, where and when the flower grew, what it looked like, all of its uses.

As the group walked Leaf kept looking at the smoke they would spot on the occasion, Star, sensing her unease, gently gripped her hand as if to support her.

Eventually, the Avoxes, traitors of the capital, started to set up a large buffet for lunch. The trainers blew their whistles as they ordered the tributes to knock off to replenish their systems with food.

Blossom sat next to Charlie, both girls had their trays loaded with food of their liking. Blossom had more of a seafood variety while Charlie had mostly veggies and fruits. Both had a tall carton of milk.

	After some small talk with Blossom, she started back home when she heard shouting. She paused and looked at Maddy and Tani's shared house. Were. . .were they okay? She wasn't too keen on all the yelling. Granted lovers do have their quarrels with some being worse than others, but this one sounded really bad. (No she's not going in, but she is making note.) Leaf rejoined Blossom's side as they looked over medical supplies. "Did you see we got more people here?" Leaf asked. "What do they want?"

Blossom nodded. "I know, I met them. Not sure what they want though."

Star had just finished with the two swords and sat down on a small bench and rubbed her aching wrists. A loud kitten mew made her jump as she lost her train of thought and looked down. A small scruffy black kitten stood just beneath her feet and looked up at her with tiny green eyes. Star frowned. "What?" The kitten mewed at her again and started nuzzling Star's feet before sniffing for food. "Again? I just fed you." The kitten as if to respond looked at her and mewed again. With a sigh, Star leaned over and plucked the kitten by the scruff before settling him in her lap. "You're an attention horder, you know that?" The kitten sneezed and shook his head, a small collar made of metal was loosly around the black kitten's neck. The tag read "Charcoal."
