What's the easiest way to get gems? Im new to the game but I see people with thousands of gems when I have none

You get gems when you send plushies to someone, can find gems through rumbling

In addition to the methods mentioned by Vampirecat, you can also get Gems from opening Mystery Boxes, spinning the Golden Slot at the Game Center and playing the Royal Tunnel.
