"Regardless, I do happen to know where the notes and teas I have are kept. Would you like me to grab them and meet back up with you elsewhere? I wouldn't mind a quick jaunt to my dormitory." Pur stared down at Kae from their standing position, neck craning almost awkwardly just to look down at her.
It was a surprise that they all forgave her so easily, since she did accidentally freeze them in their tracks. Satsuki sighed in relief; next time, she would have to be more careful.
Murder.
Someone, or more likely a couple someones, were planning murder.
On whom exactly? Ayran and Scarlett.
She had to go warn them, afterall she didn't want to be the one to blame.
Though, there was a problem, wherever they were was a mystery. Satsuki couldn't find Ayran's mind in the sea of thoughts. Scarlett's meanwhile, were in a place Satsuki would never expect them to be, high up which seemed skeptical enough for a unicorn folk who can't fly.
Retrace my steps. When was the last time I've seen any of them? She did remember catching sight of Bliss carrying an unconscious Ayran back to his room. Maybe he hasn't fully recovered yet, that would explain the silence of his thoughts.
Silence.
That was the only thing that lay behind the door.
"Finally, something that I would like to do!" Huli said excitely, rushing to the door and knocking it down in a haste. Sure enough, an Ayran lay unconscious on the ground.
Satsuki picked him up, and placed him on the bed lightly before sitting down besides him herself.
"Goodnight. Hope you're well soon, you will need it."
It wasn't time to dwell on the insignificant details.
Rather, they have a much more important matter at hand.
Jing Yu looks down on his palm that has started to sting a while back ever since at the restaurant. He hadn't noticed, but his palm was slowly turning purple from the poison.
He was familiar with this color. This was the color of his scales when he got poisoned. And this was the color of the flower that is slowly killing his little sister.
"..."
The petal was crushed in his hands and the leftovers returned to the earth. Before his own life, his family comes first.
"Why'd you take it?"
Liyu watched as the crushed petal crumbs fluttered to the ground slowly.
Her gaze flickered to Jing Yu's palm, where the poison was gradually receding.
He'd been hurt again, because of her selfish actions.
"Why don't you just let me die?"
Let me tell you a secret,
The real monsters don't look like monsters~
Jing Yu said as he looked at Li Yu.
Since when did his sister become so thin? Has her eyes always had such bad eye bags? Why hasn't he noticed these signs before?
Just what kind of failure of a brother was he for noticing the signs earlier?
"...How long as this been going on? Does anybody else know?"
Liyu quietly muttered, not making eye contact with Jing Yu.
"No one else knows."
Why wasn't he angry?
Him being angry would make this so much easier.
But he always had to care.

Hearing her reply Jing Yu took a sigh of relief.
He knew how sensitive their parents were about this topic, so if they happen to know of this news.. who knows what would happen to Li Yu.
Jing Yu grasped Li Yu's shoulder with both of his hands. Taking a silent mental notice at how thin his sister's frame has become over the years. He didn't care about the assassination attempt anymore, not when it has been years since then.
Li Yu needs to understand this.
"Meimei.. look at me. Why don't we go back inside and finish our meal. We can talk about this later but just promise me that you won't ever leave me alone ok?"
He never wanted to see her back ever again. Especially not when it was so frail and lonely.
After everything.
He could have died.
After everything.
He still cared.
Maybe he could forgive her, but she would never forgive herself.
"Ok. Let's go."
Was the lie meant to comfort him?
Or to comfort herself?

Like thank you for not cancelling our table sweet angle!
Signalling for Li Yu to sit down, he sat opposite of her and thus they began digging in. It was as if everything was normal. He was the one rambling off and Li Yu would give short occasional replies.
If only they could keep this imaginary peace forever. How great would that be?
"...So how do you think of the cake? Is it good?"
If she ever was.
Why was it so difficult to truly be happy?
Had she forgotten the feeling so completely she would never feel it again?
Yet, the best she could do was uphold their mirage of happiness.
So she would uphold it to the best of her ability.
Finally finishing, Liyu neatly wiped her mouth.
"Should we go look at clothes for the ball, Jing Yu?"
Let me tell you a secret,

Jing Yu looks away awkwardly, he totally didn't forget that the ball was within a few days, and he still didn't have an outfit prepared. And even if he did, he would never admit it Infront of his little sister!
"Cough.. Anyways, got a place in mind?"
Jing Yu asked as he set down his utensils on the plate uniformly, just like how his etiquette teacher continuously drilled him to back in the manor.
It had been something to give them self assurance and although, because of their species, Pur couldn't help their physique, it made them feel slightly self conscious. She mentally shook themselves for being so witless and hoped that they didn't notice their falter.
"That sounds great, should I meet you in the courtyards?" Kae asked, slowly raising to stand to make it less uncomfortable for Pur to look at them and to try and gain some of their lost confidence.

"Are there any flavors you prefer?" Pur asked, gathering their things into a small bag. It was only a book and a pencil they had set down, but they tucked it away neatly, nonetheless. It was a rich brown and hung around their left shoulder almost like a purse due to their height. "I can also refrain from gathering flavors you dislike as well, if you wish. I would like this to be an enjoyable experience."
They stopped for a moment, seemingly halted by their own wording. "Not that.. um... I mean?" They stuttered for a moment, "It is only a sharing of flavors between peers. Not much else. Hopefully it leads to friendship, but even if not, I still would like an opinion beforehand."
Jing Yu said while grinning. It would be a nice and chill way for sibling bonding time that they have been missing for the past couple of years due to their own respective training.
"Afterall, its bout to be night soon, so we don't got all day!"
Liyu smiled. She had a soft spot for pretty things, clothes included.
