I recently got a Resolute Stone from Prof. Rowan. Do I need to use it in order to get a golden pokeball or do you just get it?

The resolute stone is a summon item to obtain Keldeo from the tall grass. It is independent from the Oak quests

Some additional information - The Resolute Stone was given to you for getting a certain amount of PokéDex entries ( I think 200), they are not a reward for completing one of Oak's tasks.

(no Golden Pokéball involved with this one)
