So I can't find the maximum number of Exp. Shares that players can have. The original announcement post puts the maximum at 9. I noticed yesterday that I had the option to buy more in the item shop, so I did. (I didn't think much about it at the time, but seeing the post about Riako updating the site, I now think this may be a bug.) Currently in my item bag, I have 38 Exp. Shares. Can someone confirm is this is allowed and I just missed the update post on the max number of exp. shares (which wouldn't be a surprise) or if this is an actual bug?

Thanks for the report, the issue has now been fixed. Your Exp. Shares have been removed and your PD have been refunded :)
