Forum-Index → Roleplay → The Mall"That's pretty cool. I'd like to think there's something connecting all the universes together. I wonder if it connects and transfers magic to mine..." She trailed off, curious.
She looked away again, staring at her scuffed shoes. Matty's internal struggle intensified as she grappled with her feelings. She feared that any display of awkwardness or interest might be misconstrued as an attempt to appropriate something Calmia clearly held dear. And Matty did not need an entire community - including everyone she just met - hating her. She wasn't like them, and had no right to even pretend she was.

"That's... pretty incredible," Matty admitted, her voice tinged with a mixture of admiration and confusion. "But, um, how does that work with the laws of conservation of energy and matter? I mean, creating those blocks seems like it should require a lot of energy or resources, right? But where are you getting it from?" She furrowed her brow, trying to wrap her head around the mechanics of Calmia's abilities.

As they continued walking, Matty noticed their progress on the map. She gestured to the right, a hint of excitement in her voice. "I think the helpdesk should be just halfway down this corridor," she pointed out, leading the way as they followed the map's guidance.

"Wow, that's incredible," Matty said, a spark of curiosity igniting in her eyes. "So, it's almost like a form of thought manifestation combined with a specific gesture? Like, you're mentally picturing what you want and then using that motion to bring it to life?" She pondered for a moment before continuing, "It's fascinating how your mind and body seem to be interconnected in this way. Maybe it's less about the energy itself and more about how your mind interprets and directs it."

Calmia laughed quietly.
"Most people never even realize how much of a blessing having powers like this are."
She waved her hand, and the golden plate of crepes turned into a sabre in her hand. She swung it a few times.
"It's incredible, isn't it?"
She laughed.
"I've never met someone who wants to talk about things like this with me, you know?"

"It really is incredible," she said, her voice sincere. "And honestly, I can relate to that feeling of not having someone to share these kinds of discussions with. In fact, I used to have some kind of magic myself, but... it's been gone for a while now," she revealed, her tone a mixture of nostalgia and a touch of sadness.

Calmia glanced back at Matty.
"I can probably do something about it. Being an ecologist in my world means having to understand the connections between a person's magic and the environment."

"I had this... unique ability to move objects without touching them. It was like an invisible hand that could lift and manipulate things. I remember practicing with small objects when I was alone in my room." She paused, her voice carrying a wistful note.
"But then, one day, I couldn't do it anymore. I tried and tried, but the magic just wasn't there. My mo- my teacher postulated that since I was being mentally challenged at last, my extra brain power wasn't all... pent up. It felt like losing a part of myself."
She turned her attention back to Calmia, her eyes holding a mixture of determination and vulnerability. "Honestly, I've never truly accepted that it's gone. I've always believed there's a way to get it back, no matter the cost." Her grip on the possibility of regaining her magic was unrelenting, as if she refused to let go of the hope that had been ingrained in her since childhood.

"Well, maybe I can try use my abilities to help find some living life forms. So there's firebending basically, energy manipulation and being able to talk to animals. Those probably won't be able to help but maybe with energy manipulation I could use the lightbulbs to send a message with morse code." Sobble frowns. "If I knew morse code in the first place."
Sobble walks around, hearing some voices but not knowing where they came from. Feeling bored, Sobble walks inside one of the shops.
"Looks like there's food and water here, that's good."
Sobble walks into the shop and takes some energy bars, a medium sized bag of popcorn, a water bottle filled with water and some fruit gummies.
"Yummy, I love fruit gummies and I'm pretty sure we have some essential things."
"That sounds... interesting," she replied, her voice a mix of curiosity and restrained optimism. "I mean, if there's even a chance that it could help, I'd be willing to try." Her eyes met Calmia's. Eyes were windows to a person's soul. She could imagine what Calmia could see. Deep down, beneath her layers of skepticism, Matty allowed herself to imagine the possibility of her lost magic being restored.
