Carter's School of Edeya
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Carter's School of EdeyaThe professor watched.
An ominous feeling came over Andrael, as a shadow loomed over her.
The troll got back up, its' wounds disappearing.
"That's a point off, cadet. You fought well with your Edeya, but...
Saeha watched with apt curiosity.
The professor smiled wryly.
"It's not over."

Without a word, she activated her [Queen of the Overlooked Spectres] Edeya once more, disappearing into the shadows. The room around her seemed to darken as she moved with heightened speed and stealth. In a blink of an eye, she reappeared behind the Troll, her Khopesh slicing through the air with a deadly precision.
She struck with unparalleled speed and ferocity, flickering in and out of visibility. The creature barely had time to react as Andrael's attacks rained down on it, leaving it no chance to defend itself.
In mere moments, the Troll fell to the ground, defeated once again. This time, she completely cleaved off its head, and stabbed its heart for good measure. Andrael stood over the corpse, her breathing steady and her eyes still cold and determined. She had dispatched the creature with even greater speed than before, proving that her previous victory was not a fluke.
She turned to face Professor Wright, her invisible form becoming visible once more. Her expression held a mixture of annoyance and determination, silently demanding an explanation for the unexpected turn of events.

My current RP work:
"Impressive. Since you are still a child with little to no actual combat experience, it's commendable that you were able to take down a troll."
His smile was wry.
"Apologies for the turn of events. Trolls are monsters with massively powerful regenerative abilities, and as such, are difficult to take down unless dealt with in a singular blow."
He wrote something down on his clipboard.
"Nine points. You have impressive firepower, but your stamina leaves room for improvement."

As she prepared to move on, Andrael's determination grew stronger. She made a silent vow to herself to improve her stamina and combat skills daily, pushing herself to the limit and beyond. She wouldn't settle for mediocrity; she wanted to be the best she could be. She would fight until she collapsed, swing her Khopesh until her hands bled, practice her Edeya until she overexerted herself...
Andrael was aware of the potential of her second Edeya, [A Mind Like Insidious Poison], but she had chosen not to use it during the battle with the Troll. It was a conscious decision on her part, as she wanted to challenge herself and prove that she could succeed without relying on her more... controversial abilities.
"little to no actual combat experience." He had no clue.

Saeha laughed, looking at the professor.
"Oppa, is that why you're annoyed? Is your pride as a teacher hurt?"
The professor sighed.
"Who's next?"
Saeha huffed.
"Don't ignore me, professor!"

Despite the fact that Soo-ah was slightly disappointed by the fact that Andael wasn't able to figure out the Troll's regenerative factor earlier, her combat effectiveness, overcame that disappointment.
Now that it was her turn, Soo-ah stepped up, and raised her hand. "Right here Prof! Soo-ah Lee ready to begin!" There was a small change in the air that surrounded Soo-ah. She was still relaxed, and had that same enigmatic twinkle in her eye. But perhaps it was because she was entering battle that something was different?
Nines weren't good enough, not when tens were possible. She couldn't help but compare herself to others in the class, wondering if they would score higher or if they were more naturally talented than her. (Probably not. Except for Saeha...)
The drive for self-improvement that burned within Andrael was both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it fueled her determination to push herself beyond her limits and achieve greatness. But on the other hand, it also meant that she rarely allowed herself to feel satisfied with her accomplishments.

My current RP work:
"...Soo-ah. What weapon do you use?"
The professor leafed through his clipboard, mumuring quietly.
"...two students are on their way…"
Saeha patted Andrael on the back, smiling.
"Cheer up! Nine's a great score!"

Acting like a curious child, she touched the glass, lightly knocking on it, checking its durability. Who knows what she has in her mind right now. But one thing is for sure, Soo-ah doesn't plan on using her second pair of Edeya at the moment, as what would be the fun if she completely destroys her opponents?
Now.. what sort of play should she begin, Soo-ah mulled with a smirk that doesn't be good news in the slightest.
The professor, snapped, and Soo-ah was ne,t to him, all of a sudden. He handed her the cutlass.
"Don't expect this to be simple, cadet."
He took a step away, before pressing the button.
Poof!
Out appeared a slime, rainbow in color.
It had a small smiley face, almost cartoonish in nature.

She flinched away from Saeha's pat on the back, her irritation evident in her body language. "Nine may be great in your book, but I aim for higher standards," she retorted, her tone sharp and laced with sarcasm. "Besides, what will you get... a pair of elevens?" Saeha was clearly the teacher's favorite. Andrael suspected her power to be far greater than she let on, and predicted she'd fall face first into a flawless performance.
The professor's muttered words about two other students on their way caught her attention, but she didn't let it distract her from the task at hand. She waited for the next challenge, her mind already calculating potential strategies and approaches.

"...hey, there's no need to be mean..."
She took a step back.
"...it's not like I've ever gotten above a 5. I'm the weakest. I don't need to be reminded of that fact."
Saeha quietly took a seat, her enthusiasm disappeared.

From Soo-ah's street smart experience, just like the more colorful the mushroom the more dangerous they are, the same worked for creatures, like slimes too. Perhaps, the gimmick could be that when you cut, it split into two? Perhaps that was why there was only a single slime perhaps.
Soo-ah sighs, her cutlass was made to cut things into pieces, unless, like the troll there was a core weakness, things are going to get troublesome. Plus, it wasn't as if her main edeya is going to help much here.
"You never know until you found out..." Soo-ah muttered, and decided to just wing it and find out. If the slime split into two she'll just compromise and find a way to kill it to mush.
Without further ado, Soo-ah rushed forward without hesitation and cut the slime 3/4 of the way vertically controlling her strength precisely, cutting the smiley face almost in half, not completely separate but almost. First she was going to check it's regenerative abilities. Would cutting it this much affect the slime into separating, or would it stick back together she wondered with a almost crazed smile. It almost like this wasn't a training ground, but rather a mad scientist conducting experiments on a rare species.
Yes, this was Soo-ah fighting style, she was the type of fighter who would like to take her time to fiddle with her opponent, unless the situation was fatal.
At least, until it suddenly quadrupled in size and grew limbs.
It slammed a fist into Soo-ah's chest. It was a surprisingly hard punch, given that its' body was made of green goo.
The professor watched in amusement.

"Look princess, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings," Andrael said, her voice softer now. "You may not have scored high in past tests, but that doesn't define your true potential. I've seen your abilities, Saeha, and trust me, you're way more powerful than a five. Of course, you're the only one that hasn't realized that yet."

My current RP work:
As she watched the fight, she could hear the other two talk. Scores, she thought, were tests in themselves. Made to find the mentally AND physically strong students.
Soo-ah widen her eyes in surprise. What she expected was the usual trope of body splitting, she in no way expected a slime hulk.
Soo-ah bit back a groan, as she flew back from the impact, but instead of landing on the ground, she use the glass as a leverage to spring back into the air flying towards the... slime hulk who mysteriously quadrupled in size. First of all, she had to get rid of it's limbs. Despite the seemingly rock hard muscles it had, the texture was still the same as a slime, bouncy.
Perhaps she could use that?
Soo-ah tsks, as she sprang towards the slime hulk putting it's entire image into her head, as she dodges another incoming fist. Turning her body slightly as she chops that arm off. The worst thing is that her ability isn't combat useful at all. That is, she never tried on a living being before, but perhaps that could change today!
Soo-ah roughly pasted a smirk on her face, she didn't move back, instead she kept pushing forward. If the slime gave her a punch, she'll deflect it, and return it with a slash on the chest. If it gave her a kick, she'll chop of it's leg. If it rushed towards her?
Soo-ah, leaped forward and towards the slime, with a simple swung of her arm, she sliced the head off with that awfully creepy smiley face. Without the head, the slime wobbled and leaned back, offbalenced. And just for good measure, she stabbed where she thought the heart was immediately after. But Soo-ah felt something was awfully off, as she kept her eye on the slime observing it's trembling movements. What shall she do now? Should she use this opportunity to use her Edeya on a living being while she has this time? Soo-ah mulled, and decided to be patient. After all, the most patient ones, are the ones that gained the most.
The frozen headless limbless body? Soo-ah stared at it with a blank face, and just simply snapped a few times with a clean clear crisp sound, and simply multiple of his parts of the slimes body appeared in different locations all slammed into goo onto the ground. Each part cut cleanly, as if it was cut by Soo-ah's cutlass. This was the destructive power of [Gone with a Snap], Soo-ah Edeya. This was also, one of the first time she used it on a living being.
Finally, there was the head, who now returned to a simple slime with a happy smily face. Soo-ah this time didn't bother playing any flashy little tricks, she just cracked her knuckles and grabbed the slime simply by it's head, and slammed it across the training ground with incredible speed. Before chasing immediately after it with a break. Cutting it, beating it, throwing it, until Soo-ah turned it into simple mush, that you can even see the smiley face from before anymore.
During the whole entire gruesome scene that actually didn't last more than 5 minutes, Soo-ah didn't say anything, it was just punch, cut, kick. Now that it was mush, Soo-ah stood up, and brushed her hands, and adjusted her eyepatch, before smiling brightly at the Professor, as if she didn't just kill the slime gruesomely.
"Good now prof? Am I done?"
