"One is a lie, or not the entire truth. Two, I already know that
much, and your lack of details is just mean. Three, tell me what
you do know. You're being no fun, Miyasaki dear..." She pouted,
using the childish move to mask her frustration.
"I know you, Alaire Atlas. I know your tricks. I know your webs of
deceit. Information is power. And the more you have, the
more you can spin your little strings of death and lies."
"See, I want to believe you when you say things like that, but I'm
operating at such an information deficit, I just... can't. Plus,
you know my innate ability, don't you? I can tell that isn't the
whole truth." Her knuckles tightened on her training staff. "What.
Am. I. Like. In. Other. Timelines." She hissed angrily.
"You're a liar, a swinfdler, a scammer, and a cheater. One who
doesn't hesitate to use people like toys, and throws them away when
you don't need them anymore. You stab people in the back, you lie
and cheat and steal..."
Miyasaki glared at her.
"But in the end, everybody does things like that."
She... didn't like the person he was describing. Alaire could admit
that much to herself. But this was the apocalypse after all...
perhaps it changed people.
"And what are some of my better qualities?" She ask boldly, placing
her free hand on her hip. She refused to back down from Miyasaki,
another idiot who couldn't give a straight answer if his life
depended on it. She had a few more tricks up her sleeve that she
could utilize in extreme emergencies, but that would tap into his
wildcard tendencies.
"Boundary?" She recognized the name of her new skill. "Why are you
so fxcking determined to... to be an absolute... arse? I
have no clue who to trust. He said you would have the answers I
needed! And I know you have some of them. Somewhere."
"Yep." She stood back closer to Elias, picking her side. "Tell the
truth, or I'm going to do something we'll all regret. Then you'll
see the terrifying callous bxtch you think I am, darling." She
brandished her staff menacingly, punctuating each word.
Alaire smirked, enjoying the upper hand. "This time around, I'm
fairly sure that I have one of the strongest starts yet. Armed with
a kickxss constellation, and... powerful friends."
"Speak clearly. What is our relationship and why do I scare you?"
Alaire laughed. "First of all, that's just the surface; I know
you're hiding more than that. And why do I beat you up? I'm sure I
have absolutely wonderful and justifiable reasons."
"I know. Stop hesitating, Miyasaki. You have one minute to answer
my questions, or something bad happens." Alaire scowled. His lack
of committment to any word that came out of his mouth... she just
wanted to understand, and Miyasaki was making it unnecessarily
difficult.
