"... humourous too?" Lean gave a small chuckle. "I could have asked
Future Me about you too, you know? She visited me a day earlier to
warn about your visit but... I refused out of respect for you."
Since Sela wrote, Lean was capable of moving rapidly without anyone
seeing her, preparing new clothes for Bella, tucking in Caspian
some more and returning with tray of tea.

Bella was still in the bed she was left in, as if she was trying to
remember something important to her. She couldn't remember exactly
what it was. She continued to sit on the bed... thinking... and
thinking...
"Did you already note the Princess of Darkness, Belladonna?" Lean
mentioned, pointing back to her own room. "She seeks shelter and
protection. I think we can do a trade."

"A trade? Why would you ever propose a trade? And why would I trade
for her?" She looked up from her book.
-------------------
"I missed you." She said immediately after. "You seem distant, like
your head isn't completely here. What are you thinking about?" Her
four wings stayed tightly tucked, afraid to move in case it sends
another wave of pain and nausea through her.

"Not like that." Lean sighs, waving her hand dismissively. "Don't
you get it? She seeks shelter from her abusive mother. We provide
protection in form of her tagging along with us, she helps us
rescuing the Saint."

"Hm. Whatever. New recruit." She wrote her name down as well. "But
if she shows any sign of weakness upon me meeting her, I'll drop
her just as quickly."
-------------------------
She tilted her head, slowly slipping from him. "Come, sit, sit.
Tell me about it, I'm a very good listener. I don't want you
bottling your thoughts, okay?"

"Well, first of all, this body isn't really... my body...? It gets
confusing at times. Essentially what I am is the reincarnated soul
of the original Kendo. I'm not really... Kendo... if that makes
sense. I got his memories, his emotions, etc, but I'm not really
him."
"You will. I won't." Lean crosses her arms all of a sudden, showing
a bit of spine. "I have the utmost respect and admiration for you
but I will not drop my allies like so. I take care of team building
and all."

"Mhm.'' She fell off of him onto her feet, grabbing his hand and
leading him to her bed. "The cycle of life happens, I understand.
Is it... hard, being reincarnated?"
------------------
"I don't care what you care about, personally speaking. I care
about my mission." She snapped her book shut and glared at Iteral.
"Alright, take me to her."

Bella looked down at a necklace she hid in the handle of one of her
blades. Inside the necklace, it was a picture of her father, and a
scratched out figure, as if it was a sister. She sighed, closing
her eyes and holding it close to her heart, before putting it back
away and continued to sit there, thinking.
Lean grins and crosses her arms again. "Follow me." She walks this
time, not disappearing. "... I assume control over team recruiting
and building. Leave it to me, I led a kingdom in the shadows. A
group of mercenaries will be easy." She knocks on her own door
gently. "Bella? You there?"

"I, uh, 'm not great with people. My past selves... they were
amazing with others. Me? Not so much. Memories don't really do much
to change who you are."
"Remember. At least try to not be as condescending, okay?" Lean
sighs and opens the door, waving. "Hey there, Princess. I, eh,
would like you to meet someone." She steps aside, making room for
Selaphiel.
