AJ was watching with fascinated horror as Kitty faced down the boy
that seemed to hate everything in the world. He had a cigarette and
dagger, and who knows type of magic. But this was just... wrong.
She didn't want Kitty to get hurt. With a deep breath, she walked
over and projected more confidence than she felt.
"What the hell are you doing?" She glared disdainfully at him.
Kitty snickered beneath her breath, hovering her hand over the cut,
healing herself. "I'm not a masochist." She said softly. "I simply
don't take too kindly to jerks."
Grabbing Aj's hand, she walked away slowly, as if egging him on. As
soon as they were out of earshot, Kitty turned to Aj, eyes wide.
"Sorry about that." She mumbled sheepishly.
"It's... fine, just be careful." She smiled, but her eyes were
still full of concern for Kitty. The girl was literally bleeding.
She glanced back at Neo surreptitiously... what was his
problem?
AJ returned her attention to the small headmistress, and seemed to
catch her eye for a minute. The girl smiled, and looked away. She
had no power to compete against these people. She literally was no
threat compared to anyone else here. She didn't even have a
switchblade in her pocket like... some people.
"No? No other questions? I really don't wanna leave you all
confused." The headmistress asked one last time, scanning over the
crowd. I can tell there is alot of potential in this
group... She slowly descended the stairs, her child-heels
clacking on the steps and echoing through the hall.

AJ almost ran after the headmistress, demanding answers. Why am
I here, what is my purpose, do I even have magic? But she
didn't. Couldn't.
"I'm not carrying a switchblade," She said with a derisive snort.
"By the time anyone here gets close enough for you to stab,
it's probably already too late." But the idea of having something
to defend herself wasn't a bad idea...
"There's dorms that we will visit during the tour." The
headmistress replied almost instantly. "You all will be given a
schedule shortly that has locker codes, a map, dorm numbers and
classes based on what type of ...'magic' you have." She said, then
felt the need to elaborate. "You all will be sorted based off of
your type of magic. Elemental, Skill... those are some of many."

"Then there are sub groups." The headmistress said, her smile never
faltering. "And for those who I can see are confused even more so
because you assume you don't have any form of said magic, I can
assure you it was not a mistake." She said, glancing at certain
students.

Multiple powers... AJ just wanted one. There was a part of
her that hated everyone in this school for having magic. As a
child, AJ had buried her nose in a book as soon as she could read.
Hogwarts, Narnia, Middle Earth... she had always dreamed of being
whisked away to her own fantasy world.
But she had no powers, and she missed mom and dad and her
not-so-little brother. And everyone here was crazy, with cigarettes
and daggers, and anti-social tendencies... wait, maybe that last
one was just her. Aw sh!t, now the headmistress was claiming she
had magic. It would be a dream come true if there was any way it
was possible.
She needed to clear her mind. AJ needed... a distraction.
Spontaneously deciding to be social, she walked over to the smart
girl who was standing near cigarette boy... let's see if either of
them could pass a math test...
"Hey Athena," She whispered. "Sixty-seven (67) = Two (2). True or
false?"
"To elaborate, as I can see most of you are confused, the ones
seemingly without powers have some sort of altered sense." She
explained quickly, stopping midway down the steps. "...No more
questions? None about this wonderful, fascinating school, none
about me ...or anything else? I can answer any question."

"For your- and the people around you- own safety." She said.
"Please do not tell me to shut up. I know more about this world
than everyone in this room." She remained calm, despite sounding a
bit annoyed. "while it may not look like it." She quietly added.
She was quite literally the size of a 10 year old.
