Athena’s blade disappeared from her hands, and Athena plopped down on the grass. She had no more energy to do pretty much anything, she hated rocks now.

Athena woke up dizzy. It was probably just the heat. Shaking her head, she sat up. She realized she had dozed off right next to Neo and Sobble. Blushing slightly, she stood up and stretched her legs, trying to act as if that had not happened. She wondered what her mother was doing right now. The sun was rising, and it wouldn't be long before they realized she was missing. They would probably get a heart attack and send out all the search parties. When they didn't find her, would they proclaim her dead? The thought made her sick. As much as she wanted to go on an adventure, escape the boring perfect world her mother thought was the only place she should be, she didn't want to worry her family. Or waste their time and effort. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all...

Athena jumped a little. She had forgotten that Neo could read her mind. Might as well stop worrying about the future and focus on the present. "What now? Are we going to continue training?"

Far away, Iskander felt his ears burn. Someone was talking about him. And there was only one idiot in the entire multiverse that was obsessed enough with him to talk about him so freely...

"Oh Neo..." He said quietly. "Do you want to come and play? Goommaa has figured out you and your young friend are two of the chosen ones from the prophecy. But only for this lifetime. So now when I kill you in this life, it will be worth it."

Iskander walked over to his telescope and angled it at the stars. Yes, everything was aligning perfectly. He would destroy this corrupt world by the end of the decade. If he was lucky, it barely had two years left. And then, he would go back, and fix things... make it a better place.
It was never meant to be.
