"Councillors rule this kingdom, and each have an equal share of power. They vote to pass laws, hold trials, and generally control everything that's going on. They are fair and just, but of course, they still make mistakes, overlook things. Like this school's leadership for example. My mother... She has a lot more power than the other councillors. Not by law or by right, but simply because she makes sure she is heard. Loud and clear."

*Time skip to the next day*

Athena wasn't really awake yet, she'd stayed up a lot later yesterday than normal. Doing what again? Oh, right, that. A sense of dread that she only felt in one scenario. And yes, it seemed like her worst nightmare was about to come true. They had Assembly first thing in the morning. Dragging herself out of bed, she performed her usual routine without half as much enthusiasm, and trudged out to the gardens to spend some time feeling sorry for herself.

Right, there was Kendo. Of course she had to meet him first thing in the morning. He's always in the wrong place at the wrong time! Ok, maybe it wasn't that bad, but she just didn't want to talk to anyone today. Too late to leave now, he'd spotted her...

Phew. She sat down on one of the benches far from Kendo, and hopefully from anyone, for that matter. And... She just sat there. Staring into the distance, like there was some imaginary performance that only she could see. And maybe there was, some performance of the near future, of doom.
