Matsunaga glanced at Rūkasu, smiling weakly. 'Going back home... sounds nice, right now.' She sighed, leaning back.

Iteral shakes her head and ticks twice, as she ages down slightly to the first morning of Mercy's awakening, being a fresh and healthy self again... physically at least. "There, no sleep needed. Argument invalid." She crosses her arms... seems like witchcraft and tenacity go hand-in-hand.

"Look, I know you care for me but Ambrose isn't responding, the nightmares are getting worse and I can feel everything slip from my hands like I was covered in oil. This family is the only thing that keeps me from going on an absolute meltdown..." She tears up again. "... please... let me come along... or whatever..."

"I'm not sure why that matters so much- I'm not going to go and die before dawn." She kept a neutral expression on her face. She could see where Iteral was coming from, being that she was so close to death before, but still... Her death wasn't all that impactful in the long run.

The magic will seal our pact and ensure we both fulfill our parts." Oh, Mercy was mistaken. Her death would be impactful in the long run. And it would not be a good impact.

"You think I am not?" Iteral was very... very set in her tracks. So, when Mercy said that second sentence... despite her wanting to take it as a confirmation, she could not. Was it fear... or mistrust? She did not know. Instead, she just... clings to Mercy, hugging her tightly. "... I will go to bed then... I love you mom." She muttered, trying to not think of this as her final goodbyes. She did her best.

The whole head pat was interesting itself, as it had an interesting effect on her. Not only did Iteral's whole sinister aura repel itself from Mercy somewhat, making the hug and the head thing feel more warm than usual... but something stuck out. Her hair was no longer completely black. A strand of pink hair stood out, right in the middle. She gives a bit of an optimistic smile. "... I'll do one more thing, then head to bed. Alright? And maybe... one day, you'll not be afraid of me."

Iteral looks into her bag again, looks through and explains a little. "I... remember when I was reapplying for Luna Nova, they asked me for extracurriculars. I showed Ambrose the list and he mentioned how you used to do fencing. But I wasn't the most... flexible, though then he mentioned something else."

She pulls out a clothed thing, opening it reveals a small rose-tinted wax candle of Mercy. She was depicted fencing, with two wicks being above Mercy's head, depicting her stars and the fencing sword being a sewing needle. "T-There was another candle with Ambrose but... the semester was finished before I could finish it. Could you... rate my work?" She asked, her confidence now completely gone. She was back to being a little girl, almost.

"How nice! It's very well-made, Iteral!" She looked at it closely, admiring the small details. A blush came across her face at the mention of Ambrose talking about her. "How thoughtful of you. I'll place it somewhere when we get back home."
