Caleb said, “I’ll be fine without anything, thanks.” He went onto a chair nearby and just sat there. He didn’t seen like he was up to anything. Just a normal teenager. With a big secret.

Caspian said, “O-okay.” He was happy that Mercy was going to be better soon. He said, “I love you Mom.” He gave her a big gentle hug, since she was sick at the moment.

"Hello, Boss!" Taboo suddenly appeared beside the Blight leader, waving his axe. "I've done my first task and I've escorted our lovely new mercenary to his location!" He was saying this with the enthusiasm of a kindergarten child. "Have you got a new job for me yet? Maybe something that involves the fires?"

"I'm going to need a glass of water." Cloudy stumbled to the sink, filling a cup and downing the whole thing. He exhaled, blowing his bangs off his face. "Right, all good."

"Thank you, baby." Mercy smiled, hugging him back. She rested her head on his, breathing in and out slowly. Her gaze drifted to Cloudy.

"Nothing with the fires, actually. I have a special job for you. That goddess we've captured, I want you to neutralize her. She's sick like the rest, so she shouldn't be too hard." They pointed to the door the the right of them- it was the door to the giant chamber the building held.

Kendo had been trying to get his Enchanted Compass to work for a while now, as it always led to the direction of his sister, but there was no luck, as it had been spinning aimlessly for the past hour or so.

"Oooh! Neutralization! First time I've ever heard a task like that." He gave them a thumbs up. "Alrighty then! Am' off to neutralize a goddess. Goodbye, boss!" Taboo opened the door to the chamber and stepped inside.

Cloudy noticed Mercy was looking at him, so he smiled and waved. "Hi."

Mercy flinched a bit, surprised. Had she been staring? She kind of spaced out. She smiled back, waving slightly. "Come here, Cloudy." She wanted to give him affection to. It was the kind of person she was.

"One of those people." Taboo grinned, swinging his axe around. Small sparks and flames danced on his shoulders. "What brought you here, m'lady?" He stepped closer to Proserpina.

Cloudy blinked before edging closer to Mercy. He nervously shifted his feet, looking down.

Once Cloudy was within reach, she pulled him down in the hug, bringing her hand up to his hair to pet it. "Gosh, you all have grown so much in the last few years..."

Proserpina growled, stepping back. She tried to be as intimidating as she could be despite her rather short height. She wore a white high-low dress with red and blue patterns, along with platform boots to increase her height. Her blonde hair was short in the front with bangs, but had two long pigtails in the back that went down to her thighs. "I was trying to find mother, that is until I ran into one of you freaks!"

Kendo stopped. "I think that's enough for today..." he opened a portal to the Blight Guardians' base. "Hey anyone here? its me, that mercenary you hired."

"Well! Now that's on you, right? Being a goddess out in the open is not very logical, hm?" The fires crawled from his shoulders to the floor, up to the walls. They didn't seem to be damaging the walls, though. Taboo swung his axe at Prosperina, stopping inches before her neck. "Hm. I wonder if I should make this fast or slow...."

Cloudy froze up for a moment before slowly wrapping his arms around Mercy. He basically melted into her embrace with a sigh.

"So, you're back. How was your mission, did you dispose of who I asked you to?" Brighella asked. She knew the answer, just wanted to hear it from him. She turned back to the chamber door, still open. "Neutralize, not kill!"

"You- how could you?! Always getting picked on, but this is taking it way too far!" She snapped her fingers, a sonic boom sounding throughout the room in a ripple. Any normal person would've had their eardrums blown just by that.

Mercy giggled quietly pulling him closer to her. "Such a sweetie. You've looked pretty tired recently." She kissed his forehead, massaging his roots.

"... They proved to be a bit more trouble than I expected. One or two more excursions should give me good chances to kill them. It would've been helpful to know that there was a goddess in the group, a time wizard, an experienced animatronic, and a talented mage and swordsman."

"Oop, sorry!" The sonic boom blasted his eardrums, blood dripping out of his ears. But the fire on his shoulders slid in and whispered to him, fixing his wounds. "Ouch, girl! You have killer beats." Taboo laughed. "You almost made me deaf." The fire from the walls leapt down, cornering the goddess.

"Yeah.... I am... pretty tired." He nodded slowly. "Healing spells are a lot and stuff. I had to run all the way back from the town too, heh. That was pretty fun."

Proserpina yelped, trying to back away from the fire. "I just wanted an update status- this wasn't meant to happen!" She couldn't move much, her weak body due to the sickness preventing her from doing so.

"It sure wasn't supposed to but look where you are now." Taboo walked through the rings of flames; his sardonic grin illuminated. He swung the axe, hitting Proserpina in the side of the head with the flat end of the axe.

"No... no. I can't" He shook his head and sighed. "Things are going to happen and I have to stay guard for it. But you and the rest should get some sleep."

"Lower your sword, Kendo." The leader spoke. Brighella didn't even flinch, she continued to smile, staring right up at him. "No need for hostilities."

In a swift movement, Proserpina dropped to the ground. She didn't put up much of a fight- but she was still processing everything, almost in disbelief, so she half believed that there was no fight to begin with.
