The Luminous Forest
It is unknown how the Luminous Forest, came to be. It was there before the humans were, that's for sure. It is said that ancient gods brought it to life for some special purpose. To solve a long ago crisis, perhaps? The truth has been lost to time.
What we do know is that the forest houses magical crystals and flowers; the properties of which can grant healing and immortality, among other powers. With great power comes great greed, and creatures far and wide sought the flowers in hopes of granting them great abilities. Due to this, the Florafae were born as a mechanism to protect the forest. With the power of the crystals, found quite commonly in the rivers, the flowers sent forth the magical pollen. This, combining with the crystals to create a spirit that looked somewhat like a dragon, unicorn, and fairy tribrid. These spirits had wings made of pure light magic, floating horns that resembled the crystals that made them, and slender legs that barely allowed them to walk. They moved by levitation, and it was rare to ever see these creatures touch the ground.
With the Florafae’s protection of the forest, power-hungry creatures were less tempted to approach the forest or the flowers. For despite their generally peaceful demeanor, the great power of the Florafae was lethally powerful upon release. Anytime a malicious being would approach the magical plants, a Florafae would materialize to make them sorry.
Recently, the forest is under threat not due to animals stealing the plants, but due to pollution from encroaching humans. The Florafae's power to heal the forest in this way is limited, so they must look for help from other creatures to protect their beloved home. Perhaps they could discover new magic to strengthen the forest against this disease.

- Anywhere you display an image of your Florafae, please credit BlackReshiram for the species!!
- Florafae designs and backstory are not to be associated with anything harmful or hateful! (Racism, homophobia, etc.) In addition, if I find that you are associated with this kind of behavior, this will result in a blacklist!
- Without given permission (MYOs), you may not make a Florafae for yourself! This will result in an instant blacklist!
- Art theft is not tolerated! Do not steal someone's Florafae design, and be sure to properly credit any guest designers and artists whose art you use.
- Do not heavily inspire or bootleg other people's designs. Try to be original! Similar ideas do not count as copying.
- Make sure your Florafae submission follows all guidelines outlined.
- Make sure you use the proper forms when submitting a purchase or design.
- When designing, you may trace the bases on the trait guide if that makes it easier for you! I don't mind, though the images in the trait guide are meant to be used more as a reference than a base, so keep that in mind.
- Do not trade or design Florafae for people on the blacklist.
- Please use common sense when sending gift art or gift writing! I will not dive into personal dramas, but if someone has you on their blocklist, they probably don't want art of your Florafae dancing as BFFs. If you repeat this behavior too many times, you will receive a strike for harassment.
- Do NOT gift art or writing to people who have not stated they want it.
- Three strikes and you are blacklisted.
Florafae designs may have the traits of any rarity at or below it! (Ex: an UC MYO Florafae may have common traits and uncommon traits, but not rare traits) The exception is if you have purchased mutation crystals.
Anatomy Rules
Basic Anatomy
- Round head, large eyes
- Short, stubby snout
- Very thin “beard” whiskers below the chin
- Neck extends from behind the head. Long, slender body
- Slender, skinny legs
- Tail tendrils attached to whatever tail the Florafae has
- Flower petal shaped appendages on their whiskers, elbows, and sometimes tail, as well as tail tendrils (I am aware it is shown as changeable by traits on the image, but this is no longer true).
Extra Anatomy
- Crystalline, floating horn
- Mane on head, hair pointing backward
- Fuzzy antennae
- Fuzzy, somewhat large, ears
- Wings made of light magic. Can be “retracted” or turned invisible
You are allowed to choose the body type of your Florafae. You are not limited to the same length as the base. Legs and body can be shorter or longer if you please.
You do not have to stick strictly to the reference on the trait list, you can stylize them if you wish (more feathers on the wings, slightly differently shaped petals, etc.).

Florafae are a closed species based primarily around MYOs. While adopts will be available, the main way of obtaining a Florafae for yourself will be by drawing it yourself or by having a guest artist draw one for you. Upon launch, every user without a Florafae in their possession will have a free common MYO given to them, which they may design in any way they choose, as long as it follows guidelines. You, reading this will receive a common MYO as soon as the species becomes open to the public. This will not change if you win one of the adopts or buy one. You will always have a free common MYO until you use it. My goal is to make this mostly free to participate in, but allowing payment for QoL(Quality of life) improvements (Mutation Crystals, additional MYOs, etc.)
Guest artists are artists who offer to design Florafae for others for a fee of their choice. Volunteers must submit a form. Once accepted, they will be able to choose what fee to set and how many slots they wish to have at one time. Guest artists must maintain communication with me (BlackReshiram) so I can update who has what slots open. Guest artists receive half the cost of the MYO (if purchased) + whatever additional fee they selected.
Guest artists may also make sellable adopts at certain times, the profits of which they will receive in full.
