I tried to gigantamax a female pikachu i have, but it was lvl103 but i couldn't use a dynamax crystal, since whenver i use it it says "this won't have any use" I'm just so confused

I exist, only sometimes.

I think you are supposed to use 5 Dynamax crystals in the profile of the pokemon.

Stuck in a month long vacation without being able to use my laptop TWT

It's as Gingerroot says, there's the option on the Pokémon's profile to use the Dynamax. It's right below the nickname box.
