Israela Marjorie

It was quiet for a long time. Israela watched as Amirah finished her tea. The screams were growing fainter.

"They must be moving on," Amirah answered. Israela found it unnerving how Amirah seemed to read her so effectively. She still had no idea about the hand the demon might hold. "You can likely go soon. But why, when you have such a nice place, don't you think?"

"I don't know," Israela growled. Stress itched at her. "You're the one who knows this place, not me. Is it safe?"

Narrator

Screeches of nearby Exterminators pierced the air, stabbing directly into the ears of the fleeing demons, impaling and twisting the innards. They were circling out, now, all heading in a new direction. One was heading for Kai and the Imp.

Narrator

They were both safe, at least they thought. Screams were fading, but the atmosphere was still tense. The imp told Kai to go inside as head towards the upper floors as she took out her gun, looking around.

Kai Marjorie

Kai didn’t know why she was told to go inside until she saw another one of those…things coming over.

The imp looked over her shoulder at Kai, cocking her gun. “Find Millie, she knows your here. I’ll be with y’all in a few minutes!” She offered Kai a toothy smile before running off.

Kai sighed, watching the Imp leave. Millie…who the hell was Millie? How did she know this wasn’t another trap?

Israela Marjorie

"Perhaps."

Israela got the strangest urge to place her hands along that long neck and strangle the life out of her. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Amirah blinked slowly.

For some reason, Israela thought her pleased.

She jerked upward, sending her teacup full of diagusting tea clattering to the ground. It shattered on impact.

Amirah stood up. She stared at the shards.

Then, she vanished and a blur of purple snatched Israela by the throat and slammed her against the wall.

Narrator

The Imp sucked in a nearby alleyway near the IMP building, loading her gun with a huff. “Shoulda stayed inside!” She mumbled to herself, leaning against the wall. Maybe should could wait it out, not have to fight for once.

Kai Marjorie

Kai walked up the stairs looking for…something.

She didn’t know who, or what, she was looking for. She just knew being in here was safer then out there. Who was she going to find in here? We’re they going to kill her?

Israela Marjorie

Israela gasped, and immediately felt the hand tighten around her throat. Amirah's face inched closer. Her eyes glowed in the dim firelight

Only pure evil lurked in the depths.

"Touch my china again," she said softly. "And I will kill you."

Then her grip dropped and Israela tumbled to the floor.

Kai Marjorie

Kai soon got to one of the upper floors, doors and windows on each end. What kind of office building was she in..? Why did they even need office building in hell?

She had so many questions and still no answers, she was loosing hope of ever finding answers at this point.

Narrator

The Imp hoisted her gun over her shoulder before stepping out of the alley, facing the Exterminator.

“Let’s get this over with, I got other [redacted] to take care of!”

The exterminator turned to her, a sick grin on its face. The Imp stood her ground, holding the gun in front of her. The two stayed like that for a few seconds, that was until the creature shot out at her, claws scratching at her arm as she narrowly ducked away.

She swore in pain, quickly aiming and shooting the thing in the head, holding her arm. “Piece of [redacted]..goddamn hell…” She kicked the creature. Locking her gun in a hoister on her back as she made her way inside.

Israela Marjorie

Israela massaged her throat, keeping a close eye on the unstable demon in front of her. But Amirah wasn't looking at her, instead at a portrait. Is she... admiring it? Right now? Israela picked herself up, careful not to cut her hand on the shards of chinaware.

"Is it safe?" she asked quietly.

"...No."

"Oh."

And silence fell over them again.

Narrator

A head poked into the room. Two wide black eyes stared at Kai. Then a beautiful grin spread over the thin lips and the imp was bouncing forward. "Hey! 'Aintcha the girl my sis warned me 'bout?"

Kai Marjorie

Kai jumped, holding onto the stair railing. She looked the Imp up and down, eyes widening with realization.

It was her. One of the demons that got Kai and her sister in this place. She clenched her fists, anger boiling in her.

Voices could be heard in another room. Two of them, both familiar.

Kai swallowed, nodding. “I..think so. The one who saved me..twice.” She kept her distance, watching the Imp closely.

The Imp smiled at her. "What's wrong? Cantcha say your name?" She seemed so friendly now. But as she shifted, a gun became visible behind her hip. She had not come unarmed.

And it was the very weapon which killed Kai.

"I'm Millie, but I guess you'd know that!"

Kai Marjorie

Kai seemed to snap out of thought with a small smile, holding out her hand.

“Kai. But I guess you’d know that, too.” She replied somewhat coldly. She couldn’t believe she was standing in front of the one that killed her. The one that caused all of this.

She couldn’t try and fight, after all, this Millie was armed and knew how to fight, unlike Kai.

Narrator

The other Imp came up the stairs, watching the two before walking over to Millie. “You know where Blitz keeps the bandages, don’cha?” She asked, showing the scratches on her arm.

Kai looked away, as the cuts were pretty deep. She’d seen plenty of gore as she’d been here, but it didn’t mean she had gotten used to it.

Millie looked slightly befuddled. "Well, sure, gal- I should, shouldn't I?" She glanced at the other Imp. "Yup. A' think so. Can go check if ya'd like."

She smiled at Kai, but it seemed weak. "Hope ya feel better! My sister can work a real miracle on people." She skipped past her sister, and gestured to "wait". Then she was scampering up the staircase and vanished.

Kai Marjorie

Kai watched Millie leave, leaning against the wall. Maybe they knew where her sister was? Maybe they could help her?

…That was ridiculous. They killed her, why would they want to help? Everyone in hell, as far as she could tell, we’re either drug addicts or killers.

She could always try to be apart of their group, even if it did sound silly. It’s the only safety she had.

Narrator

The Imp watched Kai as she zoned out, clearing her throat. Kai seemed to jump slightly, looking over at the Imp to see her holding out her hand.

“Marrie. Millie’s sis, if ya couldn’t already tell that. She’s a real piece ‘a work, but we love ‘er.” She smiled. She seemed nice, but again, Kai didn’t know who to trust.

Kai looked at her hand, hesitantly taking it. “…Kai Marjorie. Nice to meet you.”

Millie returned, wielding bandages. Her eyebrows raised as she took them and their connected hands in. "Well, I gotta say, you're already mighty comfortable here, ain'tcha?" She laughed a bit, smiling with just the slightest bit of kindness. "I'm glad, Marie. She's good for ya."

She crouched down and tilted her head, still clutching the bandages; a clear question.

Kai Marjorie

Kai looked down at Millie, pulling her hand away. “It’s nothing like that, we were just introducing ourselves.” She said defensively, rubbing her hand.

Why was she getting so hostile over it? Millie was obviously teasing, and Kai knew she was straight. She liked men.

…Didn’t she?

Marrie May

Marrie snorted, holding her arm out to Millie. “Then Exterminators got me pretty good, they weren’t messin’ around. Prolly smelled fresh meat.”

She looked over at Kai to prove her point. The newcomer was leaning against the wall, messing with her sleeves silently.

"Of course; dearie." Millie smiled. She examined Marie's wound and visibly grimaced. "Ah, that ain't good. No good at all. Nasty creatures." She tsked her tongue and unrolled the bandages. She began to plaster the wounds over, ignoring the large chunks of dirt and shrapnel.

Her eyes grew a little unfocused as she worked. "Y'gotta be more careful, sister. You could get badly hurt one of these days."

Marrie May

She huffed. “And y’gotta start bein’ less worried about me! I can take care a’ myself! I ain’t just yer little sister no more!” She protested.

She hissed in pain a few times, trying to pull her arm away as a force of habit.

“….Maybe I will try, though.” She mumbled, looking around. “Where’re the others, anyhow?”

"I'm yer sister. It's my job 'ta worry about you. There we go-" she patted the bandages down. "Bleeding's stopped. Heat should burn out any infection, but try looking for some fires, okay?"

It wasn't entirely clear whether that was a joke or not.

Mille straightened up and glanced back and forth. "'Mox is recovering from a nasty Demon Flu. I've been coverin' for him." There were dark circles under her eyes. "Loona and Blitz 'r upstairs. Real mad too, so watcher step."

The light returned to her eyes. "Mox!" She whipped on her heel and vanished up the steps.

Kai Marjorie

Kai watched Millie leave, cracking her knuckles. “Who’s Loona and Blitz?” She asked, looking over at Marrie.

Kai seemed to be more calmed down, looking down at Marrie’s arm. She couldn’t help but think that if she had been more careful, the Imp wouldn’t be in this situation.

Marrie May

Marrie smiled. “Boss and his daughter—try not to piss ‘em off too badly, they already hate each other enough as is.” She joked…or maybe she wasn’t joking.

She took a hold of Kai’s hand, leading her down the hall. “C’mon, yet gonna wanna meet ‘em!” She said excitedly.

Millie and a new Imp were locked in an embrace in the next room.

"Mox!" Millie sobbed. "I was so scared! Ye can't ever do that again!" She hugged tighter. "You hear me? Never ever!"

The new Imp, Moxxie, was trying to push Millie away, looking slightly flustered. “Be careful Millie! I don’t want you getting sick!” He protested, but out in no effort of pushing her away.

“And it’ll take more then some flu to get me away!” He assured her. “Do you know how many times I’ve been shot?”
