Caspian had decided to get a turtle stuffed animal. It looked cute. Maybe Shelldon would like it. He seemed kind of lonely sometimes so maybe this would make him feel better if it was near him. He said to the employee very nervously from behind Mercy, “C-c-c-can-n I-I h-h-h-have d-de y-y-y-yewwo-ow h-heawt p-p-p-pweassssssssse?” He was still very nervous around people he didn’t know and just nervous in public in generally.

"Of course! Yellow it is." She pushed the hearts into the animals and walked over to a screen. "Here, if you'd like, you can pick a scent for your new friend!" Mercy smiled and looked through the options. Blueberry muffin sounded nice for the rabbit, and for the cat she chose cinnamon bun.

"Which scent would you like, sweetie?" She moved closer so he could tap the screen.

Caspian didn’t know most of the scents. But he did know something that he did like. He tapped on the syrupy pancake scent. “I-i-issssssss d-dat o-o-okay?” he asked Mercy, having gone back behind her after he had pressed the button.

Isabelle skimmed through the options before picking out a white rabbit and then a pink heart. She glanced at the options for the scent before picking strawberry.

Mercy nodded, watching the worker stitch the animals up. "And there you go! Feel free to choose outfits over there, and you can give your little friend a name!" Mercy thanked her and walked over to the outfits and name screens. She picked a long blue dress and matching bonnet for her plush and a purple kimono for the one she was making for Scaramouche.

"Scaramouche, what do you want to name your stuffed animal?"

"Everything has a name. You should make it the name of a friend you have, or something you like! Either way, I'm sure it will be cute." She smiled and waited for him to say a name, hovering her hands over the keyboard. She had already chosen a name for hers.

Caspian had gotten a small top hat and bow tie for his turtle. He asked Mercy, “C-c-can I-I c-c-c-caew h-him M-Mistew F-Fancy?” He held up his turtle stuffed animal for Mercy to see it with the little black top hat and bow tie.

"Of course you can, Caspian. You don't have to ask. And he looks so cool! So elegant, too!" She laughed, typing the name in and watching the name certificate come out, handing it to Caspian. She typed in Scaramouche's desired name as well, handing the paper to him. "It's a very lovely name, Scaramouche." She also gave him his plushie and waited for everyone else to finish before walking to the cash register and paying. "And now you each have a new little friend, how cute!" She took a box to put hers inside, as well as the paper with its name on it, and walked out.

Caspian was hugging Mr. Fancy in one arm while his tail was wrapped around Mercy’s waist and his other arm was holding on to her. He was happy that he was able to get a small stuffed animal that was fancy. He smiled a bit as they walked away.

Suddenly a woman walked up to Mercy and stepped in front of her. “Excuse me miss, but they doesn’t look like they’re your children.” she said to her, pointing at everyone with Mercy. “Do you have something to say for yourself?” she said. She seemed very annoying and wore weird clothing and wore a strange hairstyle.
Caspian didn’t seem to like her so he started shaking a bit while hiding himself behind Mercy.

The Karen looked behind her as she saw Mercy walking away from her. She saw that Caspian had a tail and said, “Well I don’t see you having a tail. I took biology in 12th grade and I know what I’m talking about.” This lady was dumb. Don’t you know about adoption? She ran in front of Mercy and said, “Look at him! He looks so bad, I bet you mistreat him. Just look at those scars on his face. And how skinny he is! You all look so different from each other.” Honestly stop lady. “I’m gonna call the manager of this mall and report you, so stay here.” She pulled out her phone and started calling someone.

Caspian really didn’t like this lady. She was very scary. He started crying a bit because of how she was talking to him. Once the lady saw this, she lunged towards Mercy and unwound him from her and said, “I’ll be taking care of him because you can’t.” She stayed where she was, determined to keep Caspian around her so Mercy wouldn’t try to take him back. Caspian really didn’t like this, especially when he was being held in place by a random person.
