And then they noticed something odd.
"Don't the trees seem kinda... unshapely?" they asked.
Crab guy cocked his head to the side. "Eh? Trees?" He glanced back and forth nervously. "You don't think this place is booby trapped, do you?"
"No, that's not it." They were almost... square-like. Clear-cut edges, jutting edges, pointy-
Now where had they seen that before-?

And then the entire tree collapsed, right on top of them.
SNAP
Crab Boy broke it in two. "IT'S A TRAP!" he yelled.
She winced in pain and tried grabbing a stone to pull herself out from under, with a hand from Siujin she finally squirmed out. Leiko got up again and held her unscraped hand toward Nisihikawa, Leiko wiped the bit of blood off her palm and onto her pants.

They shouldn't have said it. They jinxed it.
The entire forest lunged directly for them.

"I don't think-" the girl began.
"You're leader, right, er- Leiko? You sound like you've gotta plan. So head out and try and figure what's going on!"
Mouse boy leapt onto Leiko's shoulder. "I'll help you. The enemy won't notice me with you either- they'll leave a supposedly single target free."
And then an enormous tree fell straight for them.
"Go!" Nisihikawa cried. The bird took a feather from their head, and took flight.
Sujin jumped. As he leapt his arms seemed to grow heavy and sleek, they morphed into some sort of metal, Tunsgentg at est. His now dull silver-colored arms slashed up the tree before anyone got hurt. The 4 pieces of the tree rolled away out of sight.

Tengan gave a sharp curve, just as a tree in front of Leiko began to wobble. "Hurry!" Mouseboy urged. He cast a nervous glance from side to side. "This forest can't be controlled forever-"
He inhaled sharply.
"Leiko! What's familiar about the quirk being used on us?!"
An ominous creak sounded above them.
And just like that, the whole world went still. The attack had stopped.
Sujin appeared to be in awe as he looked over at Nisihikawa and at crabclaw, "What?" he looked honestly puzzled.
In the middle of a few trees, someone stood, Getting out of a situation like this shouldn't be so easy, they thought. They had twigs in their hair, and the two snakes in it seemed extremely agitated and were hissing lowly, a bit of dirt on their face and their posture had made it clear they were confused and not in the mood for another big blow.

Crabclaw blinked. "Uh- I guess so. Maybe we should catch up, now?" He stabbed his fingers into a prayer-position. "Not exactly sure just... if that's smart or whatever, y'know? Traps ans the like, could..." his words dissolved into mumbling.
On the other side of the forest...
Mouseboy tapped Leiko'a shoulder thoughtfully. "Perhaps we have left the range of attack. Or our allies may have succeeded in diverting our opponent's attack through assault. Regardless, perhaps now we can see.who our friend here was protecting."
He hopped down onto her arm, and quickly skittered down, maneuvering onto her leg and scrambling down to the floor with little difficulty. The mouse took a few steps, then sniffed the air. His face was very flushed in the cool air.
Cool...
They'd reached a shaded part of the forest.
Welp. This wasn't creepy at all.
Leiko looked at Rohhaan and said "Maybe," in a confused manner. Looking back and forth her eyes scanned the trees when she heard a hissing noise and some leaves rustling in a bush. Noticing the snakes she immediately alerted Rohhaan "Don't snakes eat mice?" as she backed up slowly.
Kamei noted they were caught. Both snakes look at them, then back at Leiko. They bared their fangs in disapproval and simply hissed again. Oh shut she it, thought towards the snakes, as all three beings were connected they sort of communicated between hisses, thoughts, and such.

"Eh. I don't think I like this." Nisihikawa blinked. "That's weird. Usually I like most things..." their mumbles dissolved into twittering.
"You seem like the type," Crabclaw joked. Nisihikawa squawked angrily. "Shh. I'm kidding."
The trees had began to rescede. It appeared the attack had truly stopped. Even the fallen branches were beginning to be concealed by vines.
Kamei's eye twitched, they had made eye contact. The snakes bared their fangs in hunger, You're not eating him," they hissed lowly. The snakes showed an expression that seemed to be a frown.

A snake jerked backwards from Leiko's shoulder and dropped to the forest floor, slithering off-
"This game is boring," Nisihikawa concluded. "I don't want to play anymore." They crossed their arms and pouted, spouting off several angry chirps.
"Aww, come on!" Crabclaw looked a little let down. "We need to help Leiko, right? And the guy who was kidnapped? Er-"
"Nagi-guy."
"Right, Nagi-guy."
"Not even close," Sujin said smirked, "It was Hajime," he said in a singsong voice. Sujin continued to glance around waiting for the other to reply when he spotted a snake. He started to choke on his spit as he leapt back to the ground and alerted crabclaw and Nisihikawa, "G-guys? SNAKE!" he yelped.

"Oh god, it's going to eat us all!" Nisihikawa shrieked. They jump-tackled Sujin, sending the both of them rolling across the ground. "SAVE ME, YOU FOOLS!"
Crab Claw stood helplessly, staring at them. "It's just a snake," he began. Then he caught sight of it and slowly blanched.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Far, far away, Hajime and Ash watched this through a live feed.
"Oh god," Hajime sighed.
"I don't usually expel people based on their results in this test- but this batch-" Ash coughed a bit. "I think I might just have to lose half the class."
Leiko let out a sigh and said to Rohaan "Should we go back to the others?"
The snake slithered towards Kamei and hissed which obviously meant something to them as they replied "I'm not a stalker, I just like to collect information about my classmates.". The snake had an expression that seemed to say, Sure, but can we eat the rat soon? Kamei glared at the snake in response. Kamei stepped out of the bush and simply muttered "Sorry, about startling you." in a sheepish manner.
