Ren laughed softly, shaking his head. "It's all good. At this point, it's a common reaction I'm getting a lot. Oh yeah, if it's alright, could I join you two?"

They turned to Viola, wondering what she thinks about a third person with them. Grookey, unlike Sobble, seemed pretty curious about the taller person.

"I think it'll be a good idea." She answered, smiling.

Sobble, not able to contain it's fear, climbed back up Viola's arm and into her hair, and pretty quickly too.

Theo sighed, standing next to Viola. "Should we wait for him outside Hammerlocke?" they asked, frowning.

After a few minutes, Ren eventually approached the two, this time holding a bag. "I kinda forgot I left this here when I was around, sorry about the wait!"

"Oh, no worries here..!" they answered quickly, waving as they noticed him return.

"It shouldn't be a far walk from here..." he muttered, checking his Rotom Phone too, wondering how to get to Motostoke. "Maybe about a day at most!"

Ren glanced back to the timid water type, smiling softly. "I do apologize for scaring you..." His eyes showed a bit of guilt as he spoke. "I do try not to look like the terrifying type you know."

"I understand that." they thought, keeping it to themselves. While Theo might not be on the tall side, being viewed differently because of their lack of communication did happen.

Grookey just stared ahead to the new route towards Motostoke.

As they walked, Ren slightly tapped on his bag, muttering words to himself.

"Are you possibly... a Pokemon trainer yourself?" Theo asked, noticing what he was doing as they walked.

"Yeah, I actually did the gym challenge before." His response was a bit quiet.

Viola nodded, thinking. Why was her father involved in the organization of the gym challenge anyways? He was a researcher so it was unsure as to why he would be involved.

Getting close to Motostoke, Ren glanced at the sky thoughtfully. "Weird..."

"What's up?" Theo asked, ending up hearing his remark.

"Oh, it's nothing." he answered, shaking his head. "Just remembered something I saw in the sky once before."

Behind the clouds, a large creature flew by, its body glowing red as two wire-like coils slipped through the clouds. Quickly, it vanished in the air.

"What was that?" Theo murmured, startled by the sudden but quick appearance.

Grookey stared up in awe.
